Anybody want to share any crafting pictures?

I finished my blanket. It's just squares, but I like the colours 😃

I don't do crafting but wow, that blanket is gorgeous!

kobacat1981 · 15/02/2022 09:58

@BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation wow your blanket is amazing, I love the colours. I also knit though it takes me forever to get anything finished because I'm partially sighted. This is one I finished a few months ago

@kobacat1981 your blanket is beautiful 😍 I love the stripes in the squares and the variegated wool 😃

@ofwarren we'll have to find you a craft to do because it's really relaxing 💚 😃

@BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation thank you so much. I donated this one to an organisation called blankets without borders who give them to various people who need them

AutumnDragon · 15/02/2022 10:49

I do a variety of crafts, I find they distract me when stressed. I'm not very creative but I'm happy following patterns or buying stuff in kit form.

I also run a business selling craft stuff.

AutumnDragon · 15/02/2022 10:50

Both of the blankets above are amazing.

ForeverMe72 · 15/02/2022 10:56

Wow those are amazing! I can't knit for shit but that makes me want to try again!

kobacat1981 · 15/02/2022 11:04

@ForeverMe72 definitely go for it. It's so relaxing and there are lots of great tutorials on you tube

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 15/02/2022 11:07

@ForeverMe72 if you don't fancy knitting, try crocheting. It's really easy and there's no dropped stitches so it's more relaxing. If I make a mistake then you just pull out a stitch and do it again. There's loads of tutorials on YouTube for the basic stitches. I can only do three types of stitches, but that's enough to do most basic projects like blankets, flowers, hearts, little toys etc.

I've tried and tried to get the hang of crochet, but my brain and fingers just stubbornly refuse to connect for it! I love both of the blankets posted! I have a small craft business, making jewellery and other bits, 75% cat themed and sparkly 😹 I love crafting in general and have tried most things, (and have stuff for almost everything else 😳) I think possibly my favourite one that is still just purely for a hobby is needle felting, soooo therapeutic when the inside of my head is feeling like a black hole of chaos!

I like the sound of your small business!
Do you have an Instagram or etsy? It's the kind of stuff I'd buy.

Rainbows89 · 19/02/2022 20:14

I am currently crocheting my dog some leg warmers!

LilyRed · 19/02/2022 21:09

@BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation Lovely colours - just what you want to snuggle under and hide in this horrid weather (or just hide under anyway Smile )

Very zazzy @kobacat1981 I love stripes!

I knit, crochet, embroider, bead, make mostly beaded jewellery -I used to teach it occasionally - I can do macramé too, but haven't for some time as the dog would chew the strings. Used to draw and paint - I love technical illustration especially and was occasionally asked to to supply drawings for the museum I volunteered at.

Currently i have a load of jumpers to darn.

I wish I had as much time as I used to to craft.

PangoPurrl · 19/02/2022 21:59

Thank you @ofwarren 😊 I'll PM (If I can figure out how!) you as I expect Mumsnet wouldn't like me posting about my business on a public section! I'm rubbish at doing anything salesy online (bad at tech, super nervous about selling things to people just from photos etc!) but I'm lucky enough to be able to do lots of craft fairs.

Ooh, I spend a lot of time watching YouTube tutorials and you've reminded me that I really want to watch some for macrame @LilyRed Sorry to hear you have less time than you'd like for craft. Being able to supply your own drawings to a museum sounds wonderful.

PangoPurrl · 19/02/2022 22:08

That sounds amazing @Rainbows89 I wish my cats would let me put clothing on them, especially woolly stuff!

I think I've pm'd you @ofwarren It just went blank after I pressed send so I couldn't tell if I just deleted what I wrote or it sent 😿

@PangoPurrl
I've just replied and followed your Instagram. I LOVE your stuff!!

ofwarren · 19/02/2022 22:30

@PangoPurrl I just bought 2 things Grin

Colouringaddict · 19/02/2022 22:35

I make cards, spend hours in my craft room that was our tiny box room. I have done a couple of craft fairs, but no idea how to look for any more that are local and not horrendously expensive.

The blankets are stunning!

PangoPurrl · 19/02/2022 22:51

Oh my goodness @ofwarren thank you so very much!! You've absolutely made my day! Week! Month hehe! I'm so embarrassed by my Etsy due to sheer lack of effort in the year and a bit that I've had it, so even though it's been 'open' since 2020 I've had far fewer sales than people I know that started theirs much more recently. This is one of the many reasons I'm finally pursuing official diagnosis for ADHD, as I really want to see if taking the meds will help me focus better on my business. I have absolutely no problem with making stuff and trekking around fairs, but the admin/online side is severely lacking!

Fuckitsstillraining · 19/02/2022 23:23

I crochet, its my meditation. Best thing I ever took up, it completely relaxes me. I'm working on a shawl at the moment, it's a kit my dh got me for Christmas.

A blanket I made for my niece, loved working g on this one, most of it was done last summer, outside in the sunshine and I feel asleep under it a few times in the shade.

Pangopurl hi! I’ve got an Etsy shop too and like you find it impossible to focus on it esp. with House etc I am always in a muddle, is this adhd? How do I get tested?!
