Skunk Anansie??? I'm just slightly, majorly jealous.

Oh, the ones I'd like to see would be an endless list. And some would involve ressurection.

And I have seen Loyd Grossman perform with his punk band

serenity · 23/12/2009 11:39

They were good live weren't they? I had such a crush on Vom, the drummer even though he was about 3ft shorter than me Small but perfectly formed. Used to go up to their shop a lot too (what was the name of that place?)

Never seen Zodiac live, but I was in one of their videos...

TillyMintSpy · 23/12/2009 11:43

Since it's 30 years since I saw my first band, and I saw alot in my youf, I couldn't possibly remember them all.

But 2 of the first were Orange Juice and Blancmange - anybdy remember them?

purepurple · 23/12/2009 13:42

Tilly,I loved Orange Juice and Blancmange!
I never saw them live though.
My list would be an awful lot longer if I had had a job and didn't live in the wilds of Norfolk.
Serenity, I secretly wanted to be one of the Anadin Brothers.
Zodiac were VERY LOUD live! Everyone had to do the dying fly dance too, lying on your back with your arms and legs in the air. Oh what fun

wigglybeezer · 03/01/2010 00:57

Nick Cave is the only gig I've been to recently but saw a few good bands in the eighties and nineties (especially when DH was working at a music/comics mag and we got free tickets). lived up in Scotland in pre T in the Park days so festivals like Glastonbury might as well have been on the moon!

REM (when Michael stipe still had hair!)
The smiths
Billy Bragg (REd Wedge tour!)
Teenage Fanclub
The rolling Stones !!!
Pavement
nirvana
sonic youth
dinosaur junior
Tindersticks
Lemonheads
Smashing Pumpkins
BMX Bandits
shonen knife
They might be Giants
and probably a few more that i can't remember right now but not the Pixies who DH saw in New York

PS. some of the above I did not enjoy as too loud but went to anyway to be "cool" (folly of youth)

skymoo · 03/01/2010 01:05

Most encouraging girls! Surprised the Ride/Pixie sorts haven't mentioned
The Cooper Temple Clause though - fantastic band

my list is a bit boring, kind of from late '70's onwards and then came to a full stop in mid '80's

And then I saw Pixies, TCTC - dp is a hardcore Ride fan and of course I love them too

BertieBotts · 03/01/2010 01:11

Mine will be a small list

The Rasmus (Don't care if it's sad, I loved it )
New Found Glory
Nine Black Alps (Really good)
McQueen (I was one of a group of close fans for a bit so have seen them twice. They are lovely ladies.)
TheGaGa*s (They were great too - but not together any more)

many more but can't remember them all.

Two regrets- never seeing Japan live (mum wouldn't let me go) and 2nd-had tickets to a Wembley gig that had Queen, INXS and if I remember correctly U2 all on the same bill. Had a weirdo boyfriend at the time who made me sell the tickets. Sold them in Loot (does it still exist?) for £75 for two tickets!!
