Is anyone else excited about possible Oasis reunion?

Love the brooding lads and their love-hate relationship. Would be great to relive 90s for a couple of hours and forget my real age for a moment! How much do you think tickets will be?

Saw them in the 90s and again in 2002. They were great but wouldn't bother now. DS is hoping he gets tickets.

I'm just imagining lots of mildly incontinent middle aged men in Stone Island cagoules and Adidas Originals bending creaky knees to Rock'N'Roll Star whilst lobbing plastic pots of piss over the crowd......

@starfleet I recently went to see The Charlatans and there were a few of the people you described in the audience. A number of them had a certain attitude about them that was unpleasant, and yes, piss throwing was going on. I imagine an Oasis crowd would be full of them, which is a shame for those who just want to go and enjoy the music.

I went to see The Stone Roses at one of the first gigs when they reformed at Heaton Park. It was full of a similar crowd. I'm glad I had my raincoat on! I'm not sure what goes through people's minds that they think it's OK to do that!

I'm going to try and get tickets for DS but not holding out much hope. My 12 year old DN really wants to go. I think it will be a huge mixed crowd across the shows.

No.
Why so many threads on the same subject?

3 threads.

Just 3.

GladAllOver · 27/08/2024 22:21

Why isn't one enough?

JaneIves · 27/08/2024 22:24

I guess you'll just have to roll with it.

@DangerDangerHighMoisture Love the Blur vs Oasis retro jibe...Smile

Ha! I loved both of them. Has anyone had an email from the pre sale ballot thing ?

BadgersGalore · 28/08/2024 10:03

I'm still waiting to receive my confirmation email since last night.

Quacking4it · 28/08/2024 10:08

I'm stillwaiting too. I'm also excited. Don't care what anyone else says!!

croft85 · 28/08/2024 15:02

Does anyone know whether (if you’re successful in the ballot..) the email address you signed up to ballot with has to match your ticketmaster account? Only that I signed up a few times with my different email addresses (work etc) but only one of them is same as ticketmaster account? Thanks

thenewaveragebear1983 · 28/08/2024 15:45

I saw them in 2009 and they were shit

It was just after the blur reunion in Hyde park which was an amazing gig. Incomparable really.

I'd go to oasis if a friend can get me tickets but I'm not wasting my weekend queueing 🤣 I reckon tickets will be well over £100 as well.

@croft85 if you're successful in the ballot the presale code is not transferable so it would need to be the email address you intend to buy tickets from.

croft85 · 28/08/2024 17:32

@thenewaveragebear1983 ok great thanks - better start creating more ticketmaster accounts 🙈

Tara336 · 28/08/2024 17:35

Nope, saw Liam sing at a concert couple years ago (was part of a bigger lineup) I wasn't impressed at all so I won't be falling o er myself to get tickets

witheringbook · 28/08/2024 18:02

I am not interested. I think they're a pair of dickheads. I do quite like some of the classics... but not enough to suffer those two.

BadgersGalore · 28/08/2024 19:37

I must remember to post on every thread that doesn't interest me to announce that I don't care about whatever it is, rather than scrolling by.

I'm still waiting to receive my confirmation email since last night.

I received mine at lunchtime, I signed up to the ballot yesterday evening.

I’m excited! And also bemused that so many people seem so triggered by a band reforming Confused

DonnaSummet · 29/08/2024 07:52

Hoping I can grab 2 tickets! But also not holding my breath, the 90s were mine and I want to relive it all again plus Noel is my biggest crush ever 😏

lol yes this , must be done. Still waiting for confirmation email for ballot :/

onwardsup4 · 29/08/2024 15:27

Have the email.. so entry into the ballot confirmed . Fingers crossed !

WaneyEdge · 29/08/2024 15:32

Just an obvious ploy for more cash. The “falling out” then “the reunion” so obviously scripted and planned 🙄. Thought they were overrated in the ‘90s, my opinion hasn’t changed.

TERFtown · 27/08/2024 01:19

That's right. Blame the women...

Nothing to do with the huge amount of money the divorce is costing him then?

KlaraSundown · 29/08/2024 15:40

Peachy2005 · 27/08/2024 01:12

Nope, they could only be doing it for the money and I wouldn’t trust them not to fight long enough to actually complete a tour. They should just leave it in the past, IMO

I tend to agree with this.

I think it's clearly motivated by money (or their lack of it etc).

KlaraSundown · 29/08/2024 15:46

Posted too soon...

I just get the feeling they're not going to be the same musically or vocally and they probably still struggle to be in the same room, which doesn't equal a great show to me.

Taylor Swift (who I haven't seen yet) for all the money she's making, is at least the consummate professional about it.

I actually feel a bit sad for all the people now clamouring to buy tickets, hoping to be transported back to the mid-90s...
