NCO Auditions 2023

Hello, Has anyone heard back on their NCO 2023 Auditions yet? I think they said sometime in October but I am being asked daily whether there is any news yet… Thank you!

any idea what the 'average' standard is for under 12s violin?

My daughter was in under 12’s this year for violin - I think grade 4 and above and you can manage the excerpts well in your audition recordings. They look for good tone, intonation, keeping in time and enjoying the music. It’s a mixture of levels some kids are diploma level down to grade 4 ish.

I have one who's s auditioned for u12 but we have no idea whether they are likely to get in. Brass, gd6-ish level but audition video wasn't their best - anyone have a sense what level the brass who get in tend to be?

Shouldn't be long to find out now if it's on the same schedule as last year. Late audition closing date tomorrow. DD had such a great time at u12 last year, so everything crossed.
