New to country music

So I've always been a house music person in recent years but grew up on garage but also love George Micheal, Elton John - all the people my parents played when young.
Anyway, have recently re-discovered Alanis Morrisette Jagged Little Pill and am going to her concert this year. I guess she is country? Angry country? No idea as I'm not a music buff. But whatever, I love Jagged Little Pill and my husband is slowly getting used to her being played in the house. Then I watched A Star is Born last night with my bestie. Plus every time I see a US film with those old country bars and a country singer in, I love it!
I need to discover some good country music. I've googled and you tubed but it keeps coming up with almost r'nb style videos and beats.
I am new to country genre but love the feeling of it...... what can I listen to?!

I’d have said Alanis Morisette was more alt rock than country. When I think of country singers I think more Shania Twain.

I was a massive r&b/hip hop fan and randomly discovered I love country music! I listen to absolute radio country at home and in the car and then Shazam my faves to add to my music library

Check out Kasey Musgraves 2018 Golden Hour, really good modern country/pop album. She’s got a new one too but I’ve not listened to that yet…

Oh wow, thank you so much. I thought I might have been off the mark in saying Alanis was country. I just love her though! But love the country vibe and will defo listen to all those recommendations, thank you. Very strange to be discovering a totally different genre in my late 30's that I had never considered or is even a thing among my friends. Keep any more recommendations coming please!

Absolute Country Radio is very listenable. They have a no repeat guarantee weekdays, a good mix, all the musicians mentioned. There’s a Sunday afternoon show- front porch which is more folk/ Americana.

Toby Keith and Zac Brown Band are my 2 favourites but second previous suggestions of Kenny Chesney and Brad Paisley.
