One of my favourites is Carl Orff's Carmina Burana - a full hour long, about twenty pieces in various styles. It has been used in numerous adverts, and you are bound to know some of it:

If you are prepared to 'work' at listening, anything by Mozart, Bach, and Beethoven symphonies can last you a lifetime!

One of my favourite performers is Nicola Benedetti; she was on TV last week with Wynton Marsalis, rehearsing his new violin concerto.

I sing with a big classical choir and it's one of the pieces I struggle to get through without crying. I can also recommend Beethoven's Missa Solemnis, and the Verdi, Mozart and Brahms requiems. Also Britten's War Requiem, which is a bit more 'challenging' but incredibly powerful.

I love rendition of Ombra Mai Fu...I first heard it years ago and it still moves me so much.
