what's your favourite album?

And why should I buy it?

There are loads of 'classic' albums I bet I have missed out on, since I have passed through my short phase of being 'down with the kids' between 1995 and 2005.

I have a really wide collection of music but for example, I have realised I STILL don't own Pablo Honey.

What did I forget to buy/ slipped under my radar?

TIA :)

Plastic Surgery Disasters by Dead Kennedys.

It may have been released in 1982, but every song is relevant to what's happening now.

Another vote for The Stone Roses. For the same reasons as. starfleet . It is perfect Manchester Sound and the lyrics and attitude sum up its Zeitgeist brilliantly.

God that sounds really wanly, but true.

The Pixies - Debaser
This is the Kit - Wriggle out the restless
Stevie Wonder - Songs in the key of life

They are my top 3 and cover pretty much every mood, unless I'm REALLY cross then I'd go for Senser

I completely overlooked The Holy Bible by Manic Street Preachers.

And My War by Black Flag.

And Quickness by Bad Brains.

And Staind by Living Colour.

And Out Of The Blue by ELO.

And Takk by Sigur Ros.

And Absolution by Muse.

And A Grand Don't Come For Free by The Streets.

There are more. It's too hard to narrow it down to one favourite album, or even twenty.

In a child of the 80's and an album I seem to revisit again and again is Soulmining by The the. Yes it's a bit teenage angsty but its so brim full of emotion and listening to it just takes me back to those heady when your whole life lies ahead of you and you see meaning in everything Grin. Stand out tracks: Uncertain Smile with killer piano solo by Jools Holland and Giant - awesome Grin. A real feel good rush of an album!

My faves are:

What's the Story, Oasis

The Bends, Radiohead (have always loved this but don't like any of their others apart from one song, Creep)

The Vaccines - Whatever Happened to the Vaccines (I think it's called)

Fun. can't remember what it's called but they've only done one

I'm a living, walking cliche but if I could only ever listen to one album again, it would be Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys.

Despite my wanly comment about The Stone Roses above, the other album that has come out a lot in the last 20+ years is Goodbye Jumbo by World Party.

I don't have an all time favourite, but I can't believe no-one has mentioned anything by The Divine Comedy or "Rattlesnakes" by Lloyd Cole. Classics!
