Just the opening bars were used in the late 80s/early 90s I am sure but what is the song please? They played Belle Stars on the radio yesterday and it has been driving me mad ever since
TIA

It's Sign of the Times

RockStockAndTwoOpenBottles · 28/09/2011 23:22

But I can not think of anything else with that opening riff, it will now annoy me.

As I lie alone here thinking of you
I realise that nothing is new
YOu say you love me, but want success
I say you're lying but nohting has changed........

RockStockAndTwoOpenBottles · 28/09/2011 23:28

*nothing

crazynanna · 28/09/2011 23:29

Thankyou Rock Smile
No sorry,never heard of it.

StealthPolarBear · 28/09/2011 23:31

I's a SIGN O THE TIMES
piece of more to come
It's a SIGN O THE TIMES
time to be alone

really upbeat ... not to be confused with Prince's wailing song of the same name

OliviaMumsnet · 28/09/2011 23:31

Lol at pls hum it!
The riff at the beginning (not the weird talking!) was sampled in another song. Late 80s poss early 90s??
I can't remember the song, can anyone help?
I am wondering if it was Shakespear's sister?

You would if you heard it for sure. 1983/4 it was.

StealthPolarBear · 28/09/2011 23:31

(vote for me on X factor)

RockStockAndTwoOpenBottles · 28/09/2011 23:32

I'll have a look.

OliviaMumsnet · 28/09/2011 23:32

StealthPolarBear · 28/09/2011 23:32

Are you sure Olivia? Because whenever I hear it I always assume it is another song (rock song or something) before it gets going, and then I realise what it is. The start doesn't really fit.

StealthPolarBear · 28/09/2011 23:33

Oh dear...are you going to change it so your posts are highlighted in purple rather than blue?
I like when doves cry and erm...a couple more. But that's it. He is mediocre at best.

OliviaMumsnet · 28/09/2011 23:37

Omg at mediocre at best (makes notes in mnhq ledger)

May get tech to highlight me in purple, though!!! GrinGrinGrinGrin

I now have something else in my head but I can't tell you if its what youre looking for because I cant grasp it clear enough to even hum it. Its a bit more tune-y guitar though
And then I seem to go into mega city four which I can't get out of my head even though I know its nothing to do with it

TipOfTheSlung · 28/09/2011 23:39
StealthPolarBear · 28/09/2011 23:40

StealthPolarBear · 28/09/2011 23:40

RockStockAndTwoOpenBottles · 28/09/2011 23:43

Yep, definitely You're History
