Hmm, interesting and bizarre sounding theory. Satanism in music.

I randomly stumbled across someone discussing this on here so I did alot of research and the findings have actually been quite shocking, it would seem tha a lot of celebs beyonce rhianna and jay z all seem to openly worship, from their hand gestures to what they wear etc.

I am fully aware this sounds totally bizarre and I assure you I am not insane, but have a Google and post your feed back. (can't do links as I'm on mobile) :)

Yes we are nutters la la la. You can't see what's in front of you!

LetThereBeRock · 20/03/2011 11:45

Have we worked out yet what the so called Satanists want?

Because last night the message seemed to be 'They want something,we don't know what the something is,we don't know when and we don't know why,but be afraid,be very afraid!

ShinyMoonInAPurpleSky · 20/03/2011 11:45

Mumsnet has a wide variety of members, surely there's a Satanist around here somewhere willing to put their point of view forward?

Anyone?

ShinyMoonInAPurpleSky · 20/03/2011 11:47

MikeHock granny sweaters are the work the devil though - even if they're overpriced "designer" ones Grin

pinkfluffyprincess · 20/03/2011 11:47

I certainly don't have all the answers. I say what I see, but I think they think they are amassing followers. Why would they do it otherwise?

claig · 20/03/2011 11:49

Yes it would be very interesting to have the knowledge of a satanist. Particularly on the power of making the hidden manifest, of the power of displaying the message and the signs, even though Mrs. Smith of Acacia Avenue doesn't understand them when they are displayed in front of her very face.

pinkfluffyprincess · 20/03/2011 11:49

Can someone answer me as to whether they think Tiffany Evans, 50 cent, Prodigy et al are deluded or bored stiff? They have spoken about secret societies and satanic imagery in hip hop.

loopylou6 · 20/03/2011 11:50

We never claimed to have answers, all I was doing was sharing something that I found interesting and wanted to discuss it.

I'd love to ask "Young" what he's doing. Would be scared to though Grin

LucyInTheSkyWithAntiHistamines · 20/03/2011 11:51

Aaaah...but was Tupac shot dead? There's whole other conspiracy about that which suggests that he faked his own death and that he'll reappear once the statute of limitations has expired (as faking death is a criminal offence).

Tis bollocks, no doubt, but bollocks never seem to hinder a good conspiracy theory.

ShinyMoonInAPurpleSky · 20/03/2011 11:51

Let me repeat:

To Cause Controversy And Therefore Sell More Records.

alistron1 · 20/03/2011 11:52

I can't believe that I got derailed by the osmonds yesterday and didn't mention, or post a picture of, the lizard king, shaman and corrupter of youth....Mr Jim Morrison

Beats the likes of jayz et al into a cocked wizards hat.

pinkfluffyprincess · 20/03/2011 11:53

He didn't fake his own death. Neither did MJ. I laugh at conspiracy theories like that. But this is nothing to laugh at

sjm123 · 20/03/2011 11:53

laig Your mention of Acacia Avenue just made me giggle

Interesting choice of street name given your views on metal.

alistron1 · 20/03/2011 11:54

And lets not forget Sir Cliff Richard and Devil Woman

alistron1 · 20/03/2011 11:55

You can't get better than the hoo ha surrounding Jim Morrisons death.

The sixties/seventies were so much better at satanism, controversy and corruption.

ShinyMoonInAPurpleSky · 20/03/2011 11:55

pinkfluffyprincess has just summed up all this up.

People are scared of the unknown, that is why we have religion in the first place. They categorise anything they don't understand as evil or the work of god depending on how they want to use it for their own means.

Publicists, managers, record companies and artists have known for hundreds of years that doing something that no-one else can explain will cause this divide, get people talking (or burning at the stake) and get them noticed.

sjm123 · 20/03/2011 11:56

Arrgh. Obviously I meant claig. I think there's a bit of chocolate stuck under my "C" key Blush

Tortington · 20/03/2011 11:57

I think to fully understand this subject area an essential piece of research is this dvd which everyone must buy

There are those who will tell you that music and dance is a sin. However as the Ren points out in the dvd - which you must buy, there are lots of references to dance to praise god in the bible.

ShinyMoonInAPurpleSky · 20/03/2011 11:57

I agree alistron1. I'm a rock and roller at heart and find it quite upsetting that rock and roll is now so unshocking that the rappers and RnB artists get all the attention :(

usualsuspect · 20/03/2011 11:58

alistron1 I agree with you ..satanic images have been the norm in rock music for years

alistron1 · 20/03/2011 11:58

Custardo, the song footloose is a total copy of The James Gangs Funk 49. More devilry afoot

pinkfluffyprincess · 20/03/2011 11:59

I don't think it's as simple as "it's just to shock". Why the change in both artists? Why be so subtle if they want to shock?

pinkfluffyprincess · 20/03/2011 12:01

Although Kanye isn't subtle at all. He's there so everyone says "It's just art, just a style, it's too in your face to be sinister". And in the meantime you are being flashed subliminal images

Rohanda · 20/03/2011 12:03

Devil Gate Drive from Suzie Quatro.

Clear evidence.
