Safe Space

Do you fancy a matter about nothing in particular?
Battle free, stress free, random and nonsensical?
Do you fancy a Brew and a Cake and even a Wine or two?

There are many differences that we face but also many common themes.

Here is a safe space - furnish it as you want. I've brought some big plush beanbags and velvety cushions.

Hello Smile

ToadsJustFellFromTheSky · 02/09/2016 22:30

I have ice cream 🍦

CandyMcJingles · 02/09/2016 22:34

Ooh what flavour Toad? On holiday I had peanut butter ice cream and it was amazing.

Hi Pig!

Any kind you want Smile

I like phish food and cookie dough Smile

CandyMcJingles · 02/09/2016 22:56

The cookie dough is the best bit. There is never enough. A tub of just cookie dough and no ice cream would do me.

Hi anyone for hot chocolate. It must be nearly bedtime.

CandyMcJingles · 02/09/2016 23:18

Go on then. Cherry syrup?

ToadsJustFellFromTheSky · 02/09/2016 23:35

Hazlenut for me. Or caramel.

🍫

ToadsJustFellFromTheSky · 02/09/2016 23:36

it's not my bed time yet though.

I'm not sleepy.

CandyMcJingles · 02/09/2016 23:41

DD says that to me most nights
But I'm not tired mummy. Two minutes later she is snoring.

Thank you for the heads-up, Candy
Very tired, have a busy weekend ahead, hoping I can get to the end of it before my ME catches up with me.

CandyMcJingles · 03/09/2016 00:21

Ooh mood lighting. I like it.

How do we feel about candles?

I'm in bed so forgive me if it goes quiet.

ToadsJustFellFromTheSky · 03/09/2016 00:37

I don't like candles and never have them in the house.

Fire scares me 😱

CandyMcJingles · 03/09/2016 08:03

It's the weekend! Yay!

Long holiday has lulled me into a false sense of security and I have just realised that dd starts on Monday and I have lots to do. I feel exhausted and achy (ME and ?arthritis) but will just have to get on with it - and dh is away for the day.

CandyMcJingles · 03/09/2016 14:15

Wheest that sounds rubbish. DD started yesterday, her very first day at school (she's 3 and is in the school nursery) I was scribbling her name in her coat with a sharpie pen as she was putting it on :)

OP posts:
Jasonandyawegunorts · 03/09/2016 15:04

afternoon!

Jasonandyawegunorts · 03/09/2016 15:04

How was DD at school candy, did it go well?

CandyMcJingles · 03/09/2016 16:32

Ah Jason she was absolutely fine. I picked her up (withCandyDog my guide dog) and she came running out with a big smile. Her verdict was that school was "alright".
Me and DH took her in the morning but then he went to work so it's was just me picking her up. Every other parent had someone with them no I was the only one stood on my own.
So the only one with a guide dog :D
No one spoke or said hello but I'm sure they don't k ow what to do for the best as I know I present a confusing image - I don't always wear dark glasses, I can make eye contact so it looks like I can see. And I can see - I have 5% vision left at the moment. But I can't see enough to walk down a street safely.
So no doubt they were afraid to say hi in case they said the wrong thing.
School gates eh.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 03/09/2016 16:38

Chatting at the school gate isn't an easy thing to do, even without disabilities.
From what i understand from observation you tend to get parents falling into little groups as the year goes on.

I'm pleased your DD foudn ti alright.

CandyMcJingles · 03/09/2016 16:48

Oh I hate the whole thing. I've been picking my nephew up for years so have plenty of playground duty notched up but the whole parent at school thing is not my forte.
I'm going to leave any socialising to CandyDog :)
