Safe Space

Do you fancy a matter about nothing in particular?
Battle free, stress free, random and nonsensical?
Do you fancy a Brew and a Cake and even a Wine or two?

There are many differences that we face but also many common themes.

Here is a safe space - furnish it as you want. I've brought some big plush beanbags and velvety cushions.

Glad it went well Candy. I hated the school pick up most of the time and my disabilities were largely invisible then.

CandyMcJingles · 03/09/2016 19:33

Wheest i just feel awkward.

Just watching strictly. Looks like it'll be good this year.

That's lovely!

NoHaudinMaWheest · 05/09/2016 13:36

candy sounds like a good day yesterday.
DD (wheelchair user, ASD) started at her 6th form this morning. She seemed ok but nervous about meeting lots of new people.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 05/09/2016 13:38

That's good no is it 5 days a week?

NoHaudinMaWheest · 05/09/2016 14:48

Yes Jason pretty much full-time but with a late start on Mondays and an early finish on Fridays as the school has some weekly boarders.

Shock miracle

CandyMcJingles · 07/09/2016 09:38

Morning all! Wheest hope DDs college day was good. Ugh, meeting new people is always a bit nervy.

I'm having a duvet day, feeling a bit poorly, and my mum has got DD.

Sorry you aren't feeling good. Get as much rest as you can while you have the chance.
I have been trying to sort out stuff ds needs for going to university (kitchen stuff and bedding etc.)
It is so much harder when you don't have a car (neither dh nor I can drive for disability reasons) and I can't walk far or carry much. Ds has ASD and can't manage any of it alone.
I have ordered most of it from Argos to be delivered but they don't have everything we need so I am having to do it in bits and pieces and get exhausted in the process.
Sorry it is good to have somewhere to moan about it. I don't think they would get it on the main university freshers' thread.

CandyMcJingles · 07/09/2016 10:02

Having to first plan everything is something a lot of people don't get. Non sever here too for disability reasons and my postmen love me as I keep Royal Mail afloat!
You've made me reminisce about my mum do the same for me 23yrs ago!

Morning!

CandyMcJingles · 08/09/2016 09:10

DD said on the way to school "it's an autumn day today" and I can't help but agree, looking at the grey sky and lashing down rain.

Morning!
Jason good luck at the dentist.
Polter hope the OH appointment is useful.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 08/09/2016 11:01

Thank you no

Dentist went really well, very well in fact, the worst part was waiting in the waiting room.

The checkup was fine, my teeth are fine, I've got some areas of 'dark plaque' around a top wisdom tooth, but not even enough to warrant one of their painful "cleans".
My gums are fine too

And they needed to update my xrays, becuase i haven't had one since 2010. So i've been X-rayed (It didn't give me super powers though).

Jasonandyawegunorts · 08/09/2016 11:03

I popped into my mums bakery on the way back and had a cake, some rebellion.

CandyMcJingles · 08/09/2016 11:03

I don't mind the dentist but the smell of the waiting room makes me feel ill.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 08/09/2016 11:06

And it's boring. There's only so many times you can read your own medical notes sheet.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 08/09/2016 11:12

I hope things are goign okay at your appointment polter
