Mumsnet surveys

Tell 5 Alive all about your 'me' time (survey open to all, regardless how much 'me' time you have!) and you could win a £250 John Lewis voucher

5 alive want to find out what you do during your 'me' time - if you're lucky enough to get any!

By 'me' time, we mean time to yourself away from children, partner or work, when you can let loose and have some fun. It doesn't matter if you don't get much 'me' time; we still want to know what you think. The survey is open to all Mumsnetters.

Please take a few minutes to complete this survey and enter your details for a chance to win a £250 John Lewis voucher.

AND, for another chance to enter the prize draw, please tell us all on this thread what you get up to in your 'me' time, whether it's playing air guitar to the radio, or going out for a muddy bike ride - you can 'fess up here .

Thanks and good luck
MNHQ

done.

Me time? I've no idea what that is.

When the dds were all pre-schoolers I would get them to bed and just sit down and enjoy complete silence, no TV, no radio, no talking to dh just zilch - it was bliss.

No I like meeting up with friends and coming on here

Cheesy survey!

When my kids go to bed I just sit down.

I also go to watch Manchester City without DH or the kids so I suppose that is me time too.

Amapoleon · 21/04/2010 17:37

Me time is when the kids have gone to sleep and I either come on to the internet or read a book.

I wouldn't actually class this as me time, it's just time when the kids are asleep.

Me time would be actually going out on my own and doing something for myself.

Have a bath with lots of bubbles and a book.

No option to MN?!! Erm if I'm not desperately trying to catch up on the latest celeb gossip ironing when the DCs are asleep, I'd be knitting, crocheting, watching telly, and enjoying a whole cup of tea whilst it's hot!

read, MN, drink coffee/wine depending on time of day

I hide on my allotment. I have a shed with books and tea-brewing kit and everything

Reading and drinking tea in a variety of pretty/warm/comfy settings is my idea of heaven, to be honest.

my me time is - having a long bath eternally topping up the hot water, whilst in the bath reading, listening to music, snoozing or wathching tv.

Vital because the thing I have not been able to get used to is being needed/wanted all the time and I NEED to feel not needed/wanted for a while.

That is the cheesiest, most patronising, most vacuous survey I have ever seen (and I've seen a lot of surveys).

"Practice your acceptance speech for the Mum of the Year Award - you know you deserve it". FFS.

Dear PR agency for Five Alive

I know that working for Coca Cola is very prestigious and all that but you don't have to lower yourselves to this level, you know. I bet you had some really creative ideas in your original pitch. I bet they've been watered down and compromised. I bet you're now wondering why you bother....

[been there, done that emoticon]

That is the worst questionnaire I have ever seen. I stopped after a couple of questions because it was so embarrassing.

Sleep, bath, read.

But most of all: THINKING TIME!

Report
SherbetDibDab · 21/04/2010 18:30

I'm glad all the comments are saying what I'm thinking. I couldn't bring myself to complete that and I'd love the John Lewis voucher.

'Trying on old clothes to check that they fit.'

'Raiding the kids snack jar.'

Written by someone who's never really met a real 'lady' but knows they like to worry about their weight and they all love to eat chocolate.

'Me' time is wine drinking in a zombie state of exhaustion. I'll save the song singing for the kids.

That is the crappest survey ever.

I found it so embarrassing that I couldn't do it, and I would love JL vouchers

Who does those things and are there ANY women at 5alive?

Stupid survey. Whoever wrote that definately has no dcs or any contact with anyone who has dcs. Very very cheesy and patronising. I actually feel a teensy bit sorry for whoever wrote it as if I were their boss and read all this negative feedback they would be in trouble!

My me time probably goes as follows:

bath (without DS throwing toys in or asking me about my private parts) I see this as essential rather than pampering 'me time'

MN

drink

eat stuff I don't want to share with DS

straighten my hair

read

What an exciting life I lead. The time inbetween DS going to bed and me going up too is usually spent sat in silence enjoying the peace and quiet! I have no energy for bloody singing or practising awards speeches (WTF?) I am not a cast member of HSM.

Done but agree its load of rubbish - surely its not 'me' time if you spend it with someone else. And as for the list - has this been put together by the same people who want me to 'have a happy period'

ilovesprouts · 21/04/2010 18:37

Well, I've done it. But they dont really want proper answers, do they? Not with the choices they gave! My 'me time' is the gym but followed by grocery shopping
