  1. What was your favourite feature of the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor?

The app - having the app on your phone with notifications alerting you to noise/ movement is so much better than a stand alone unit you get with standard baby monitors. The video quality was superb. The playback features of key events in the night is a nice touch too.

  1. Did you test the monitor with the wall mount or floor stand? Was this easy to set up?

Floor stand. The stand was a bit fiddly but the actual camera was very straightforward. The floor stand seemed to twist and result in a wonky camera angle every few days, but this was probably due to DD reaching through her cot bars and giving the pole a little nudge. We had connectivity issues fairly frequently (at least daily) and we're sure it wasn't due to our wifi signal strength. We found turning the camera on and off, or switching to night mode and back in the app usually managed to reset the camera.

  1. Will you continue to use the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor? Why?

100% yes. So handy each care giver having it on your phone instead of a single stand alone unit.

  1. Are there any other features you would like to see the Nanit Pro Smart Baby monitor offer?

A feature in the settings to enabling the camera to turn off iaftwr a certain time in the day, similar to a central heating timer settings, as if I forgot to turn off the camera in the morning I was was buzzed with alerts throughout the day every time someone made a noise near the room! Especially on days when DD is at nursery so I don't need to monitor for and day time naps. Not a big issue, but maybe an additional feature to consider

Also - thank you so much nanit and mumsnet for the opportunity to use this item. It's a really impressive bit of kit.
We didn't utilise any of the breathing motion features as our DD is 9 months and the band ot came with was 0-3, and weve no cause for concern with her. But I can see how these features amd extra items would put your mind at ease if you're worried for any particular reason, health issues, first time in their own room type of thing. Having looked at the items and the monitoring features in the app (but not trying them) it seems it would provide a more accurate view than the old style breathing monitors consisting of a flat sensor the baby sleeps on. But I'm not an expert, and still advise people who use such items need to ensure they know appropriate first aid should their child stop breathing, as these items only monitor and alert - they don't prevent or treat.

A 3rd comment from me (sorry!) as there didn't seem to be any where appropriate in the survey to mention.
I'm on the fence on the price point.

It's a great piece of kit, but it's essentially a single HD camera woth motion detection. I've had cctv installed, and the price for 4x 4k 5mp cameras and a 2tb video recorder was a similar price to this single item. I think the price difference between the wall mount and the floor stand version is pretty steep too, floor stand gives a much better view bit it's essentially a few pieces of plastic tubes the same wires feed through for the wall mount!

  1. What was your favourite feature of the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor?

Being able to see my daughter on my phone without having to plug a screen in.

  1. Did you test the monitor with the wall mount or floor stand? Was this easy to set up?

We had the wall mount, the step by step video was really helpful and it was easy to line up the wall mount with the measuring tape and level!

  1. Will you continue to use the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor? Why?

Yes, I feel really secure being able to see my little one at night when notified! It’s not too invasive but equally I’m super secure in knowing my daughter is okay. I also love that I can see how long my daughter has slept for.

  1. Are there any other features you would like to see the Nanit Pro Smart Baby monitor offer?

Showing dream phases maybe?
In all honesty it’s the most advanced baby monitor I’ve come across and it’s fabulous.

  1. What was your favourite feature of the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor?

I loved the 1080p HD night vision, and zoom, It was amazing quality, and I loved just watching him sleep - I cannot believe how clear and wonderful it is just to watch this beautiful baby sleeping, wriggling, the faces being pulled and the baby noises.

  1. Did you test the monitor with the wall mount or floor stand? Was this easy to set up?

I had the floor stand, it was a bit fiddly, I watched and would recommend the youtube video produced by Nanit- it's really easy to follow, the clicks and cable management, and assembly was useful. and I managed to set this up in around 30 minutes, once up it felt really sturdy,

  1. Will you continue to use the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor? Why?

Yes, definitely, I love it - It has so many features, the camera, the temperature (I am worried about the summer - so this will help me monitor the room) I love the app, and the when I am out for anything leaving DH with DS I can watch him in his crib - with such clarity, listening and watching - and showing my friends - I could not be without it.

  1. Are there any other features you would like to see the Nanit Pro Smart Baby monitor offer?

The only thing I would want is a back-up incase the internet failed - something which would automatically connect to my mobile phone data to work 24/7 - if it already does this ? I have not read this in the instructions - other than that it's perfect

  1. What was your favourite feature of the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor?

The sleep tracker. Was incredibly useful to know when my baby fell asleep and exactly when she woke up.

  1. Did you test the monitor with the wall mount or floor stand? Was this easy to set up?

The floor stand. I didn't need to read the instructions, it was so simple to set up.

  1. Will you continue to use the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor? Why?

Yes, it is the most advanced and innovative monitor on the market. It's given me incredible peace of mind and has helped to really understand how my baby sleeps and her sleep cycles. Also, I love the wind sound feature! It sends her off to sleep so well!

As said above a back up for if the internet/ power goes off.

Thank you! I've been using this with my 8m old. She will be sharing a room with her 2.5yo brother so it was great to be able to see her and make sure he wasn't getting into the cot with her!

  1. What was your favourite feature of the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor?

Thats a tricky one, it's really very good! I liked how it told me how many minutes ago she fell asleep and how long she had been awake for. Being able to see her remotely was fab too! So I would leave her napping, with the husband downstairs working from home, and collect her siblings from school and it was nice to be able to see whether she was still asleep!

  1. Did you test the monitor with the wall mount or floor stand?

Was this easy to set up?
We had the wall mount. I found it really easy to install, the instructions were clear. Easy step by step and all the bits you need.

  1. Will you continue to use the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor? Why?

Absolutely, it's fantastic. The picture quality is brilliant and it's so useful to have the sleep insights. It stops that wondering how long they've been asleep for.
I wanted my youngest two to be able to share, and it's great that the sensor picks up motion as well as noise, in case he's trying to get in her cot or giving her stuff.
I really like being able to watch back interactions, and see where in the she's slept.

  1. Are there any other features you would like to see the Nanit Pro Smart Baby monitor offer?

Functionality wise, not that I can think of, it really surpassed my expectations.

I think being able to personalise the greeting to something other than "Mom" would be great, though not important in the grand scheme though.

Corner pieces for the wall mount kit would be useful as the plug socket wasn't on the same wall as the mount.

Slightly annoying was pop ups popping up when trying to pair the app to the camera, they did get in the way. It would be useful to disable them until it's set up.

Like PP we had some connectivity issues too, and had to turn camera off and on again to get it to pick up. They seem to have stopped now though.

  1. What was your favourite feature of the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor?

Being able to watch him sleep on my phone via the app. Like other testers - I am really pleased by the quality, especially the night vision

  1. Did you test the monitor with the wall mount or floor stand? Was this easy to set up?

I have the wall mount, which was really easy to set up, with clear instructions and it looked really neat and tidy on the wall.

  1. Will you continue to use the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor? Why?

To give me the ongoing peace of mind of such a fab monitor which monitors breathing, movement, sleep and temperature, and keeping the milestones on my app.

a built in lightshow for the ceiling which I could control with the app would be lovely.

1. What was your favourite feature of the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor?
Without a doubt it is the quality of the video. Being able to zoom in closely, and also turn the sound right up so I can hear his breathing is hugely reassuring!

2. Did you test the monitor with the wall mount or floor stand? Was this easy to set up?
I tested with the floor stand. It was very easy to assemble, even with my 11 month old trying to help. The cable covers were a lovely addition, but as our nursery is quite small I struggled to fit them together and left them loose

3. Will you continue to use the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor? Why?
Absolutely. I had a BT 6000 before and the quality is nothing like the Nanit Pro Smart. I would have loved to have the breathing pajamas when my son was small, and the tracking features are great.

4. Are there any other features you would like to see the Nanit Pro Smart Baby monitor offer?
I would absolutely love (and pay a decent amount extra for) a stand-alone parent unit rather than solely relying on the app. I felt a little wary when using my phone as although I know the notifications will come through, I really got used to always keeping an eye on him in the corner of the room.

  1. What was your favourite feature of the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor?

I really liked being able to use the app on my phone and also connect it to my Alexa device so that I could see my daughter without having to use my phone. It meant not having to use separate systems like other monitors have to see the video so was very efficient for us. I was also able to connect while I was out one evening and my husband was home looking after the baby.

The notifications when there were any sounds or movement was also really helpful and made me feel so much more reassured that my daughter was okay.

I also liked the in-depth sleep insight and the highlight reels which are a joy to see. Though unfortunately, we realised my husband does most of the morning pick ups when my daughter wakes up!

  1. Did you test the monitor with the wall mount or floor stand? Was this easy to set up?

Floor stand. We live in a rented flat so wanted to avoid putting holes in the wall. We also wanted something that would take up a relatively small amount of space. Set up was fairly easy and instructions were easy to understand.

  1. Will you continue to use the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor? Why?

Yes, absolutely. It's really an impressive baby monitor. The temperature readings, white noise, sleep insights, and breathing monitoring etc are all really useful additions. We are so happy with this monitor.

  1. Are there any other features you would like to see the Nanit Pro Smart Baby monitor offer?

The monitor and floor stand is quite expensive at £379 RRP. While it's a really impressive monitor with useful additions, I'm not sure that the cost represents value for money, especially when additional accessories like the breathing monitor clothing would need to be purchased. The camera only comes with one breathing band for babies 0-3 months, so a separate band would need to be purchased for older babies at additional costs. I think the Nanit Pro Smart monitor would be worth the price if it included breathing bands to fit babies up to the age of 2. Additionally, Nanit offer a travel/multi stand (which we will be purchasing), but again, cost is quite high at £50 so would like to see this included in the overall price to represent value for money. Otherwise, you could easily spend £500 on the monitor itself, breathing equipment and a travel stand.

  1. What was your favourite feature of the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor?

Our favourite feature was being able to see our baby so clearly. It was so helpful to be able to see what he was doing when we heard a noise or received a notification on the app. On several occasions we watched our baby rouse and then settle himself quite quickly. Without the monitor we would have gone in when we heard the noise and most probably woken him up completely.

We tried using a video monitor before but our baby would stare at the red lights and this stopped him from going to sleep. The Nanit Pro also has red lights but they don't seem to distract our baby as much.

  1. Did you test the monitor with the wall mount or floor stand? Was this easy to set up?

My husband set up the monitor with the wall mount. I chose the wall mount as our baby is crawling and cruising so I was concerned that he might pull over the floor stand.

My husband found it easy to set up and he was impressed that it included everything he needed in the kit. The cable cover is a nice addition and it looks smart.

  1. Will you continue to use the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor? Why?

Most definitely. We were using an audio baby monitor before and we have found using a video monitor has given us a lot more insight into our baby's sleep.

We've found the night summaries really helpful too. On sleep deprived nights I often lose track of how many times we've been up so it was really useful that the app kept a record of this without us having to do anything.

I also paid for the additional features to allow us to view the video history. We found it useful to be able to re-wind the footage on occasion to see what (if anything) had woken our baby up.

The temperature and humidity features are really useful too.

  1. Are there any other features you would like to see the Nanit Pro Smart Baby monitor offer?

Our baby sleeps in an oval cot so this did not really work with the cot boundaries that we could set on the app.

It would also be useful if you could set hours when you want the camera to come on. Our baby does not sleep in his cot during the day so we have been turning the camera off in the day, otherwise we were getting lots of notifications that weren't relevant (e.g. when the cat walked past the cot).

One small negative, it would be nice to be able to change the greeting, I found 'hey mom' a bit annoying!

  1. What was your favourite feature of the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor?

I loved the smart phone tracking which meant DH and I both had alerts when baby woke up. This meant we didn’t have to have the monitor on constantly like we had to with our old monitor. The quality of the footage is great.

  1. Did you test the monitor with the wall mount or floor stand? Was this easy to set up?

I had the wall mount. As my baby is still in the bedside crib, it meant I wasn’t able to set it up as an overhead camera as the crib is not directly below the wall. I would have had to purchase the floor mount separately to use it properly.

  1. Will you continue to use the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor? Why?

Yes, the footage is excellent and I have peace of mind that I will be alerted when baby wakes up.

  1. Are there any other features you would like to see the Nanit Pro Smart Baby monitor offer?

I didn’t like that when the cot was not being used I had lots of notifications so an option to turn the camera on and off would be good.

A facility to attach the camera to a bedside crib like as a Next To Me, rather than purchasing a floor stand.

Overall we really liked the camera, but wouldn’t want to pay extra for the Premium subscription or for the floor mount that we would need.

**1. What was your favourite feature of the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor?

I really liked the quality of the video and the fact it was so easy to get a birds eye view of the cot. I'm so used to not being able to see the face of my children as I've always just had a camera on the side so I'm often looking at the back of their head from a distance.

**2. Did you test the monitor with the wall mount or floor stand? Was this easy to set up?

I tested the floor stand and I found it extremely easy to set up. I was actually so impressed with the stand and think it's brilliant!

**3. Will you continue to use the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor? Why?

Absolutely yes! It's one of the best cameras we have used for lots of reasons!

Firstly, the fact it plays white noise all night at a fully adjustable volume is great. They other sounds are great as well, but white noise is an essential for us. It's a really "nice" white noise as well if that makes sense! Not crackling and intrusive.

Secondly, the inbuilt night light is fab. It's really subtle light, fully adjustable. But it's enough to be able to breastfeed (lots) during the night.

Thirdly, the breathing monitor is great. I actually purchased the bigger size for my daughter (she's 4 months), and has laryngomalacia. She often struggles with breathing at the same time as coughing or feeding so this peace of mind was incredible for me.

**4. Are there any other features you would like to see the Nanit Pro Smart Baby monitor offer?

Given the price point for the camera, it would be nice if it came with the larger breathing band as well. Its very expensive otherwise. I think it also needs to be made clearer that the breathing band can't be used with blankets or over thick sleeping bags as I'm not sure that was clear enough when you look at the features. I'm still using the breathing monitor for my baby as its essential but I was a bit disappointed when I saw you can't use blankets as it does then have a limited shelf life.

But overall I was really impressed by it! Thank you

Like other reviewers, the clear video even thorough the night was really impressive. The night light was also very handy, being able to turn it on from the app was very useful for night wakes, without having to fumble with a lamp

  1. Did you test the monitor with the wall mount or floor stand? Was this easy to set up?

We had the wall mount. I found the instructions a bit confusing as a sleep deprived, time-limited mum but my husband had no problems installing it

  1. Will you continue to use the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor? Why?

Yes. The video feed is very clear and the alerts are great. A couple of times I didn't get alerts to my app but my husband did, after restarting the camera it worked again so I started resetting it daily just in case, once I'd got in the habit of it I was very happy with it.

  1. Are there any other features you would like to see the Nanit Pro Smart Baby monitor offer?

An alert for face being covered would be nice. Other than that it is one of the most feature-heavy cameras on the market

  1. What was your favourite feature of the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor?

Great camera and I like having the nightlight which I can switch off remotely. Great to control through the app. Am I going to have to pay £50 a year for the basic subscription though to continue to use? If so, that’s off putting but i may have misread that.
  1. Did you test the monitor with the wall mount or floor stand? Was this easy to set up? Floor free standing. It was easy but I which the paper instructions said install app straight away and follow the video! I kept thinking I wish there was a video and there was but I didn’t know until I had set it up. I hope it is also easy to take down as I am moving house and it was a bit tricky to remove the cable poles. Also the third leg attachment thing is stuck so I need to take that off.
  2. Will you continue to use the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor? Why? Yes I will, as long as I don’t have to pay £50 a year for the privilege. Also, my husbands phone doesn’t have ios13 so he can’t use the app or the monitor which is annoying. It is great to control using the app though.

Absolutely loved testing out the Nanit and so glad we were chosen!

  1. What was your favourite feature of the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor?

While i enjoyed a lot of the features (particularly the white noise and temp functions) I think favourite has to be the video quality itself as it is super clear and picks up even the slightest movement allowing you to sooth your baby as soon as they start stirring

2. Did you test the monitor with the wall mount or floor stand? Was this easy to set up?
We used the wall mount, I found the set up a bit daunting though it wasn't too bad once i started. What i did find difficult was connecting it to the app as the troubleshooting was very simplistic and i didn't know where to get help when a problem occurred

  1. Will you continue to use the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor? Why?

Yes, I really love being able to see her and the white noise is so helpful getting her to sleep

  1. Are there any other features you would like to see the Nanit Pro Smart Baby monitor offer?

Like other mentioned there were some connectivity issues i would like improved, I'd also really like the option of an additional linked parent unit (maybe something that could be purchased separately) so i could still keep watch on her when i am using my phone for things like work calls . I would also like to have the option of making the white noise motion sensitive (so it turns on automatically at a preset volume when she starts moving and turns off after she has been still some time)

  1. What was your favourite feature of the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor?

The excellent video quality and the insights / activities log. I love that I can see exactly how long my baby has been asleep for and how their night has been. The video highlights are great too.

  1. Did you test the monitor with the wall mount or floor stand? Was this easy to set up?

I had the floor stand and found it a bit fiddly to screw the pieces together. I also found the cord management cylinders unnecessary and they just take up room.

  1. Will you continue to use the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor? Why?

I will 100% continue to use the Nanit, but only in conjunction with my old BT6000 monitor (see next point). In addition to the points listed in answer to question 1, there are many other great features of the Nanit. I love that I can see my baby if i am out of the house, and be notified of any wake ups. I love the view from the overhead stand, and that I can see my baby's face clearly. I love that I can play white noise remotely and adjust the volume.

  1. Are there any other features you would like to see the Nanit Pro Smart Baby monitor offer?

As much as I love the Nanit, I would never buy it as a sole monitor due to the lack of separate stand alone viewer. I like to be able to see my baby all the time, and you can't use the app for that as I'm often using my phone for something else. I think at this price, a separate stand alone viewer should be included. Then it would be the perfect monitor! Also, as others have said, I had connectivity issues so I had to rely on my other monitor at times when the Nanit wouldn't connect.

My family and I are really impressed with the Nanit Pro baby monitor

  1. My favourite feature was the fact that the monitor linked up to my phone, so I didn't have to carry around an extra device and, because it meant I could still know how DD's nap was going even if I was out and she was home with her nanny.

I really liked the nightlight and the white noise, I would put the light on and the white noise on to let her know that I was coming in to get her each morning.

I so really liked the highlights that it would give me each morning of when she woke and slept in the night. It was reassuring to see how brief her night wakings are now and how easily she goes back to sleep. For a little baby, the Nanit pro would be really useful for figuring out your baby's sleep patterns and thus good for planning how to transition your individual child into sleeping through the night.

  1. I tested the wall mounted baby monitor.vIt was pretty intuitive to set up, the cable covering coming pre-attached to the cable definitely speed things up, and the fact that you could detach and reattach it easily is very helpful, as the last thing you want is the cover coming off during assembly and not being able to put it back, delaying your ability to set up the Nanit until you've ordered more. It was so thoughtfully packaged, we used the little spirit level and found it helpful. As someone who is not very practical, I found settings bup the wall-mounted Nanit Pro no harder than putting together IKEA furniture.

  1. I will continue to use the monitor as there are certain features that are useful right now, and others that will grow with my baby. For example, right now (and probably in the future too) the Nanit pro is useful for checking when my baby wakes in the morning, as she doesn't cry when she wakes up, just plays quietly in her cot. Going forward, the built in microphone might be good, for example, so that I can say night night to her if I'm working when it's her bedtime, or for letting bhet know that I've noticed whatever mischief she's up to and want her to stop. Overall it's so reassuring to be able to check the all is well with my sleeping baby at the click of a phone app. The Nanit is so convenient that I think I will continue to use it for quite some time.

4.
I would like it if the camera could be mounted in more positions relative to the cot. My child's bed is next to/under a window, so I had to mount the camera on the wall at one end if the cot rather than above the middle of the cot, and that positioning meant that things like the Nanit insight features couldn't be used. Having the camera able to surveil the cot from either end as well as from either side would mean that parents could more easily use the Nanit without having to rearrange their child's room.

Overall I really enjoyed testing the Nanit pro and would really recommend it to friends and family Smile

Oh I love it! I wish I had had this with my other kids!! My husband works away a lot and for him to be able to log in and see our little lady whenever he chooses, its brilliant for him! I am so impressed with this! Again, crystal clear picture! Fantastic bit of kit!

Maybe a back up for if the for if the internet goes off. I live in a very rural area with bad connection sometimes. Also a wee light show for baby added would be a lovely bonus, and maybe Mum instead of Mom! lol x

By the way, a huge thanks for allowing me to trial something I wouldn't have been able to afford on my meagre wages! This bit of kit gave me peace of mind, and I really do love it, and am very grateful. x

  1. What was your favourite feature of the Nanit Pro Smart baby monitor?

I really liked that other care givers can have the app and monitor the baby.
The video quality was amazing.
The day and night summary of how baby slept was really useful.

  1. Did you test the monitor with the wall mount or floor stand? Was this easy to set up?

Floor stand. Very easy to set up, well packed so didn't need instructions. The cable cover was a little annoying for me because of the location of the plug socket (very close to camera location). Was just a bit cumbersome. I do understand the reasoning for it though.

Yes definitely. It is a great piece of it. The quality of the picture is amazing. I really like the app features. Being able to see how he has slept over night and day naps is great.

Although the app is brilliant I did miss having a parent unit. I liked that I could see baby on my phone but I didnt want my phone to be the baby monitor

I would like some sort of resilience. While we were testing the monitor we experienced an internet outage for 5 days which meant the monitor was useless.

The monitor and floor stand is quite expensive at £379. It's a really impressive monitor with fantastic features, but I'm not sure that it is value for money, especially when accessories like the breathing monitor clothing or sheets to monitor growth come at additional cost. The camera only comes with one breathing band for babies 0-3 months, so an additional band would need to be purchased for older babies at additional costs if you wanted to use the breathing monitoring feature. We didn't use it as my LO didn't like the band was would wriggle out of it. I think the Nanit Pro Smart monitor would be worth the price if it included breathing bands to fit babies up to the age of 2. To make the camera portable you do need to buy the travel kit at an additional cost of £50 i would like to see this included in the overall price. You could easily spend £500 on the monitor itself, breathing equipment and a travel stand this is a very large expense.

Overall I have enjoyed testing the NANIT pro smart baby monitor. I would recommend but with caveats.
