An outbreak of Covid-19 has occurred for the Playmobil people in our house...

… and so over the next few days I'll be bringing you some scenes of a Playmobil Pandemic.

People are allowed out for exercise, but must practise social distancing. Janice and Preston are both out for a run but are making sure they don't get too close.

… and wrap him in a blanket and take him back to shore to be checked over. They tell him he shouldn't have been going in the water.

Who else thinks SoMuch has ordered the radiologist after mulling it over for 5 mins Grin

X-rays are a form of diagnostics for CV, so you have the perfect excuse reason. Wink

petalpower · 21/04/2020 07:48

I hope that they get a strict talking to. This doesn’t look like their hours permitted exercise!

CaptainMyCaptain · 21/04/2020 08:19

Can I be pedantic and say that it's a radiographer not the radiologist who does the MRI scans and it's CT scans that are used for Covid19 diagnosis. My husband is a radiographer in MRI, currently with a reduced workload of cancer patients, if things had been worse he could have been redeployed in CT or x ray but, fortunately, cases seem to have peaked locally.

Don't mind me. As you were.

TheVanguardSix · 21/04/2020 08:22

And THIS is exactly why everyone should consider donating to the RNLI!
Grin
No, but seriously, you should.

ChessieFL · 21/04/2020 08:25

Is it wrong that I really want to buy myself the new Back To The Future playmobil for my birthday next month? Blush

chomalungma · 21/04/2020 08:32

I hope they get shamed in the Daily Mail for being Covidiots in the water Grin

Glad to see the RNLI cover Playmoland though

Grin Maybe it's a slightly different procedure if you're made of plastic? Smile

I agree with giving money to the RNLI.

Has anyone else got their Playmobile from the 70s? I don’t think I’ve got anything as early as 1974 but maybe from the late 70s. We have a hospital set on my parent’s loft. Little red beds with white headboards, female nurses and male doctors!

We also have a glow in the dark ghost.

CaptainMyCaptain · 21/04/2020 11:55

Catkin I'm sorry I couldn't resist pointing that out. Since I met DH I haven't been able to watch any medical dramas as he is constantly saying things like

'that x Ray is upside down'
'that x Ray isn't what they say it is'
'if that was really his lungs he'd be dead'
Also, in response to a line on Casualty
'the doctor doesn't ORDER a scan, they ASK for it'

It must have rubbed off on me although I'm probably the sane with school based dramas.

CatkinToadflax · 21/04/2020 11:59

Captain I'm sure I'd be the same - my mum is a former nurse and trying to watch an episode of Casualty with her sat next to me providing endless commentary was torturous! Grin

pussycatinboots · 21/04/2020 13:13

Captain sorry Blush

SnugglySnerd · 21/04/2020 13:13

I'm a teacher and couldn't watch Waterloo Road for the same reasons!
Love the lifeboat today.

CaptainMyCaptain · 21/04/2020 13:15

No need to be sorry @pussycatinboots.

Loving this as always. Thank you!

Reluctantly sold lots of the Playmobil DS had while we were living abroad. However, could never part with his favourite set which was the bin lorry and bin men. DS used to put it in the window when our dustmen were due and they always waved to him. He loved it! He's 27 now and puts his own bins outGrin

SoMuchToBits · 21/04/2020 20:24

Thank you all! Just returned from work (which wasn't too bad today). Strangely enough we are staunch supporters of the RNLI (although its equivalent in Playmoland is the RPRS Royal Playmoland Rescue Service). Ds was lifeboat mad when he was a child and still has a keen interest now.

And by the way, I haven't ordered the radiographer. Yet...

That was edge of the seat stuff. Oh the drama! Hope Caerwyn is recovering well Grin

SoMuchToBits · 21/04/2020 21:28

I'm sure Caerwyn will be recovering well, but he shouldn't have been jumping in the water anyway!

Anyway, the Playmobil people will be back tomorrow with some more photos for your amusement!

Enjoying this very much! I think you really need the radiographer . . Wink

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 21/04/2020 22:16

I’m just glad Tamsin was walking by (obviously doing her daily walk not too far from home)

I love this thread thank you 😊

SoMuchToBits · 21/04/2020 22:16

These look good too! Key workers just introduced by Playmobil!

I’m surprised Playmobile haven’t contacted you and sent a set out.

I hope Caerwyn learns his lesson but also that he doesn’t get a chill.
