Possibly longer

Its really starting to bother myself and dp.

Should I do something?

Hi,

Yes all fine now, DP is fine --mores the pity-- despite me asking him nicely twice and hollering like a fishwife the 3rd time he decided he and MIL should continue to throw the dc around and spin them at the beach, dd ended up with a dislocated elbow. Again, she did it to helself messing around on a stair gate and it happened before that when she threw a wobbly and dropped down whilst I was holding her hand.

I'm calmer now but I was livid with him, even more so when the closest drop in had no doctor available so we had a 20min drive to a+e with her sobbing, and then because I take her in I get the dressing down for it happening despite me telling them to stop!!! I know it wasn't meant and they were having fun but since its happened before we need to be careful with her, argh

She is fine now, like it never happened, brilliant nurse at the a+e had us in and out of there in less than 30minutes.

But it still shouldn't have happened!

Aww state what's done is done, no point fuming now, at least DD is ok. I'm sure DP has learnt his lesson now.

Hope the rest of your day turns out well.

IDontWantToBeFatAnymore · 08/04/2012 17:22

Sympathies here. DH once pulled DD's arm out of the socket and I cringe when I see people swinging kids by their hands. DD had several trips to the hospital and had to wear a cast on her arm for several days.

StateofConfusion · 08/04/2012 18:17

It was just infuriating as I'd asked him to stop 3 times incase it happened, he better have learnt because the nurse was very hmmm about it all cue me having nightmares about dd being taken away! idont that sounds nasty! Luckily dds only ever needed hers popping back and is fine in seconds. I think his own guilts punishment enough tbh, I'm just quietly avoiding the subject until I simmer down.

Anyway. No sign of the BMW, however there is a transit in its place, FIL is parked beside it and said he thought he could hear talking inside

Sorry I'm so absent, pils are staying until tomorrow evening and I like to keep the dcs busy --so they don't misbehave and embarass me--

IDontWantToBeFatAnymore · 08/04/2012 20:29

Yes, in theory but dd is not compliant and no one could get her arm back in and she wouldn't use it. It hit DH hard (good!) when I took her off to be checked and she came back with the cast on her arm.

bagelmonkey · 08/04/2012 20:50

You'll have to get FIL to keep popping out to his car to bring things in or put them back so he can see what's going on in the van. Get him to take a glass to hold up against the van to listen in.

StateofConfusion · 08/04/2012 22:13

i really hope Dp learns his lesson this time idont sadly i have a feeling he won't he lacks thought, dont get me wrong hes a brilliant Dad but appears to lack to thought to see what might happen next.

bagel thats not a bad idea... i asked if i could go out dp said no, he thinks im going to get in trouble, spoilsport

OP posts:
IDontWantToBeFatAnymore · 09/04/2012 08:56

Feel free to tell him how my dd went through several attempts at slotting the arm back in (cried), xrays to check the position (stressful) and then finally the cast putting on (heart breaking) after not using it and maybe he will get it.

GravyHadALumpyMashBaby · 09/04/2012 12:04

State your dp sounds exactly like my dh. Having fun comes before being a senisible parent sometimes. Glad dd is ok bless her! We've had our 3rd a&e trip and Ds isn't 2 yet!

I hope they have moved into the van! Nice for them to have a bit more storage. Grin

RabidEasterEgg · 09/04/2012 14:50

Where are they Sad

millimat · 09/04/2012 20:46

Aren't all DPs the same? Fun fun fun then DCs get hurt but they're not to blame?!
Have they returned?

StateofConfusion · 09/04/2012 22:13

ive not had a decent sighting BUT BUT one of the people seen getting in the back of the van had FLUFFY PJ BOTTOMS ON!!!

[bugrin]

pretty busy this week but I'm trying to get a good look every oportunity --i didnt stand out in the rain for 15minutes "emptying stuff from the car" looking hopefully in the vans direction, oh no--

wrt dp i was given a leaflet on pulled elbows and dislocations and left it lying around, he said sheepishly earlier we cant let her hang of us when she throws a wobbly or anything, it has to stop, i replied with, no dp you have to stop... I really hope he's learnt, didnt help i had yet another nightmare she was taken away and woke him, and the pils screaming! It really affects me alot.

But as per her usual mad 3yo ness she is back to normal and spent several minutes hanging by one arm in the park today

Not that im boasting but i have a rather gorgeous pic of my ds on my profile [buwink]

Hebiegebies · 09/04/2012 23:38

Keep us updated on the van

I was never checked out when dd dislocated her elbow by being swung round. Hope the nightmares stop

bagelmonkey · 10/04/2012 05:49

Maybe they traded in the car for the van as a better long term living arrangement?

millimat · 10/04/2012 08:46

You could even fit a camping stove in a van. Just think, the food opportunities are endless. Mmm pot noodles :o

ovaltine · 10/04/2012 16:37

just think How many rodents could hide in a van! Someone best order them a black bin

GravyHadALumpyMashBaby · 10/04/2012 18:30

aww your dc's sre swueet :)

millimat · 10/04/2012 18:46

Now I know I'm really sad [blusgh] but does it work out at around 732 hours now?

millimat · 10/04/2012 18:47

Oops should check my typing before i post!! Blush

StateofConfusion · 10/04/2012 20:27

millimat I have completely lost count of hours, 4 weeks and one day though.

Dp thinks they're in the van though but still no better sightings! Damn easter holidays and actually having plans for a change!

Unfortunately, I have been busy this week, doing bastarding decorating which ended in my own trip to a+e

Hope your dd is ok now and dp has come to his senses.

Yay, I can't believe how glad I am that they're back.

Are they ok?
