A small fluffy bundle...

purplewerepidj · 10/10/2011 20:21

I walk to work (about 10 minutes) and this morning spotted a small fluffy bundle on top of a wall. I didn't really have time to check it out, but it played on my mind all day.

I checked it out on the way home, and it's a dead cat Sad I work shifts (which is why I'm posting 12 hours after I first saw it) and have tomorrow off. I need advice on what to do:

a) Nothing
b) Go back with a cardboard pet carrier and rubber gloves and contact the local vet in the morning
c) Call the emergency vet and/or some kind of local council department

I don't think I'm heartless enough for option a. I was incredibly grateful to the stranger who took my cat to the vet when he was run over even though he didn't pull through. Option b seems logical but I would have to store it in the dustbin as I don't really want it in the house, but that seems disrespectful. Option c might be the proper way to do things, but I'd like to know that the owner knew what had happened.

I don't have dc's so am free to go with the MN verdict! Thank you Thanks

I don't know whether to nominate myself for Classics or report so the thread can be deleted due to the sheer weight of shame

Brilliant. It must have been one of those horrid ones that are made out of proper cat or rabbit fur.
You deserve a reward though for two reasons.
Being bothered in the first place
Owning up.

Was wondering how a thread with only 29 posts could possibly be in classics. Thought it was a mistake, but no, well worth it.

Proper belly laughs here.

Sorry OP Blush you sound very kind.

It is like the Canadian fire department who spent hours trying to rescue a bear cub from a tree.

It was a black bin liner. Grin

Grin cheered up a miserable, rainy day OP. It was a lovely thing to do anyway and made us all laugh

I've been crying with laughter for the last 10 minutes

Yes, it's on my facebook - how could I not be proud of getting a thread into classics?! I also asked for advice on there last night Grin

The vets and nurses know me (by sight at least) my now deceased cat was in the process of registering for Pets as Therapy and I have another cat and a house rabbit, so I have animals registered as patients there

another one wondering how a 29 post thread ended up in classics - but it was worth it. Of course some poor child is now agonising over their lost kitty so you still have the problem of reuniting it with its owner.......have you put up found posters where it "died"?

Was it one of the creepy realistic ones like these? They have batteries in to make it look like they're breathing, I swear thay really do look like dead cats.

Brilliant Grin That gave me a much-needed laugh.

You do realise that you've probably stolen someone's toy cat (or creepy garden ornament), dont you? Are you going to smuggle it back?

I'm trying to upload the photo now that was taken to show DP what excitement he's missing by buggering off to a conference. I'll link once I've sorted it Blush
