Hi,

I'm 35 weeks with b/g twins and starting to feel a bit fed up.

My consultant is planning a natural birth as both are head down and has said I'll be induced in the 38th or 39th week if nothing happens naturally by then.

But I'm really hoping the 37 average I keep reading everywhere is acurate.

I've heard some mums deliver at 32 weeks and others at 40 so perhaps that's why the average is 37 and I'm just destined for the long haul.

Would be good to hear your thoughts and experiences.

34 weeks emcs after getting to 10cms and twin 1 getting stuck behind my wonky cervix (gosh doesn't that make me sound wonderful!!!!! )

Good luck, but remember they really are better in there at the moment! (and now I sound patronising...sorry...)

LargeGlassofRed · 27/01/2010 12:51

38 week's, induced, think if it hadn't been so hot I would have resisted induction longer

Had a quick natural birth of 2 half hours.
Have you been swimming? I went nearly every day towards the end, I didn't actually swim, just stood in the pool and enjoyed the feeling of weightlessness

Good luck!

teddymummy · 27/01/2010 12:59

I was induced at 38 weeks for a natural delivery. Try to rest, swimming is a great idea as Largeglassofred says. I also enjoyed being on all fours in the lounge instead of sitting Anything to take the weight off you really. I know its nucomfortable and frustrating but honestly when they arrive you will be very busy so enjoy this peace while you still can!

teddymummy · 27/01/2010 12:59

'uncomfortable' sorry.
Separating two fighting DTs while I type!!

idobelieveinfairies · 27/01/2010 16:10

c-section at 38 weeks with first set due to transverse/breech lie.

2nd set was c-section at 40 weeks as no sign of labour starting and wasn't allowed to be induced.

Good Luck!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 27/01/2010 16:12

my lovely SIL was induced at 40 weeks and the boys were eight and a half pounds each, she is tiny!!

kathryn2804 · 27/01/2010 16:52

38+6, and then they didn't want to come out! Had to be induced They were 6 lb 10 and 5 lb 12

accessorizequeen · 27/01/2010 20:45

I was 39+3, held out on being induced 3 times and was due to be induced 4 days later. And it was worth it, I've had a section, did not want to have another and chances go up if you're induced. They'll be cooking nicely in there! Tis extremely frustrating in the latter weeks, I had spd from 30 weeks and could barely walk by the time I gave birth. My sympathies!

1stMrsF · 27/01/2010 21:13

38+1 - planned c-section as both breech. No signs of labour. Just sit on the sofa and eat

HarrogateMum · 28/01/2010 12:34

induced at 39.5 weeks.....

Geepers · 28/01/2010 12:37

first set was 28 weeks.

currently 23+5 with second set and not expecting to get beyond 26 weeks

Tortington · 28/01/2010 12:44

full term for me - went in to be induced and it started all on it's own.
6.6 & 7.5

poorbuthappy · 28/01/2010 12:45

Geepers...why not? (if you don;t mind me askin...)

Geepers · 28/01/2010 12:53

poorbuthappy my waters around twin 1 have broken already.

Abubu · 29/01/2010 11:29

Induced at 38 weeks with ID twins..

Egg · 29/01/2010 11:35

36+5 with b/g twins (now just 2). Went into labour naturally and had vaginal birth. DS2 (second born twin) was helped out a bit with ventouse.

Consultant had said that if I hadn't gone into spontaneous labour by 38 weeks he would induce me (at my request).

Good luck! And love your MN name!

Egg · 29/01/2010 11:36

Geepers . Lots of love and luck to you.

chopstheduck · 29/01/2010 11:40

I was 38+5. Hang on in there, the bigger they get the easier it will be when they are born.

Sorry to hear that geepers.

l39 · 29/01/2010 12:46

Induced at 37.5 weeks. Quick easy labour, twin1 born vaginally, twin2 section. 5lb 1.5oz and 5lb 4.5oz.
