Good morning to my bestest bunch of friends and a Happy Happy New Year to you all! xx
Curio my sweet what an awful scare, you must have been terrified, poor you.
I am not wanting to sound fed up on New Years Day but am!
Have not seen a soul, or dne anything since Christmas Dat when I worked my socks off feeding 12. Not an invite for a single sniffter! Then asked a few friends for supper last night and no-one could make it. So we had curry, by 8pm Becca is upstairs playing music, boys on pcs and Harry sat playing loud jazz knocking back the brandy and reading garden seed mags, on New Years Eve?? I sat on my own until gone 9pm, asked if anyone was going to join me, no interest so stormed off to bed. Put my light out when kids were sent up at 10.30pm, H came up at 11.30pm, reeking of booze, at 11.50pm phone starts ringing, he had turned the answer phone off, grr, eventually it stops. Gets off to sleep, only to wake at 4am cross and headachey, gets back off, then at 6am James comes in holding Thomass new Top Gear alarm clock saying it keeps going off! Gives it to H who takes it into the bathroom, comes back says hes sorted it............5 mins later d d d d d du d d d da So down I come cant find a screw driver, open it with kitchen knife and chucks out the batteries. Its going to be a long long day! Hope the rest of you have had a better time, I must make a resolution to be grateful and get on with it!!

curiositykilledhaskittens · 01/01/2010 09:26

Yes, was scary but apparently not as serious as it seemed because she didn't get to the floppy stage. I liked you arsing around shabs - made me laugh and took my mind off the self pity! If I'd have been upset then i would have just said. I need a little laugh and a joke to get me through these things! Worried about going to sleep last night but got a lot of sleep as it turned out - 11 till 4 then 5 till 8!

Hope you all have a lovely day today. Don't work too hard!

OMG last night is all coming back to me!!!

I 'jived' with my friends husband - he is about 6ft 4in and 20 stone - I 'threw' him all around whilst singing 'Rock around the clock'???????

I picked up friends husband on my back and ran round the house giving him a piggy back.

Consumed copious amounts of gin and told everybody how much I loved them - and there were many folk there I didn't know!!

Went next door and invited their neighbour to the party!!! He was from darn Sarf and was very afraid of all the rowdy Northerners but still supped our beer

bagpuss · 01/01/2010 11:28

Curio, how very frightening for you. I hope you are all recovering well now. DT1 did something similar when we first came home from hospital. She choked on the vitamin supplements we have to give, was only a small amount too - less than 1 ml. I had to use the resusitation techniques we had been taught before discharge to bring her round and it really scared me. I am glad they taught us now but am not planning on using them again! I would really recommend a course for this kind of thing if you can find one.

I hope everyone is having a good start to the new year. dts slept 11 til 5.30 and then 6 ish until 9 . Their sleeping has been erratic again over christmas - I think because of the change in routine, but hopefully I can get them back on track now as we're all a bit bleary eyed here!

Trips, I am sorry your new year wasn't up to much. Shabs, I am glad yours was better than you expected.

Am off now to jump in the shower before the dts wake up - we are all still in pjs here .

neenz · 01/01/2010 17:00

I was still in my pjs at 11.30am this morning too Bagpuss . The DTs have been very obliging these last few days, sleeping later and later in the morning, this morning it was 9.30am . T has been waking a couple of times in the night but quickly settling back to sleep and E just seems to be loving her sleep at the moment.

Curio, very annoying about the local hospital kids' A&E being shut. It has been very controversial hasn't it. But the new kids' A&E dept is very good isn't it, we have been once and we were seen so quickly and thoroughly that I thought I probably actually prefer the extra 15 mins drive to get such good facilities/treatment iyswim.

I am still knackered but my cold has gone so I am sleeping much better at night. Still needing a nap in the day though. Not sure how I will cope when DH goes back to work. And I am 8wks PG now so keep thinking this is the time when it will probably go wrong if it is going to .

tkband3 · 01/01/2010 19:47

Happy New Year everyone.

Did I see LG&T slipping in and out almost unnoticed? Get back here girl, tell us how you are!

MERLYPUSS · 01/01/2010 21:14

Happy new year to all you lovlies. I am munching viennese biccies from M&S (having just scoffed about 1/2lb of cheddar and crackers). I did say I was going to be good and not be such a pig but it would be scadalous to let it waste wouldn't it. I was asleep at 9.30 last night, woke briefly at 1150 and sloped off to bed at just gone midnight. NYE is a bit boring isn't it. A bit of an anticlimax iyswim.

shabbapinkfrog · 01/01/2010 23:09

My little bro just texted me, bearing in mind he was not amused about his lad getting Becki pregnant - not amused at all!!!

Text says 'Just sat holding Gracie Lou - Im in love' Two Lou's (Lew's) in one family is more than enough

My Grandson - Lew - says 'not oing andmas' - they have been off work about 18 days because of Christmas holidays and the snow - he has told Dan and Em that he's not coming here on Tuesday LOL - its going to be fun!!! Dan said 'Andma is missing you and wants to see you' Lews constant reply - 'not oing Andmas!!!'

triplets · 02/01/2010 08:59

Mornig all, lovely crisp frost here today, kippers on for b/fast, kids still asleep, feeling better, so all is well, all is well

shabbapinkfrog · 02/01/2010 10:02

Morning!!

We have farking soddin' snow again - un-emptied bins (for the last two weeks cause of the weather) standing outside - all forlorn!!!!

In 1980 we visited Calgary, Canada in January! They had about 3 feet of snow - but - guess what? life went on as normal.

bagpuss · 02/01/2010 12:44

Snowing here too Shabs, big thick fluffy flakes of the stuff. If it stops later we may all wrap up warm and go for a walk in it .

TeaSleepFood · 02/01/2010 18:51

Am I too late for a 'Happy Christmas to everyone'?

How 'bout 'Happy New Year' to you all?

Yes?

I'll get me coat then...

oooggs · 02/01/2010 19:32

curio - that must of have been hell hope she is ok

shabs - Love the name Grace - was going to be dt2's name if he was another girl, but he wasn't so it is dt1's middle name instead

bagpuss - I didn't realise it was faux pas (stuff 'em) as you read we have 2 with a J name (not the dts) and I am always getting them muddled - infact I get all the children muddled!!

neenz - I have done the last 3 Christmases pregnant so I feel for you

LG&T - Happy New Year

teasleepfood - never to late, better than not at all

MonkeyMargot · 02/01/2010 20:23

Hi there ladies - I hope I'm not intruding as I get the impression you gang have been together a while . I'm expecting twins in June and was looking for a relevant thread for support in the multiple birth area. Are all of you ladies already parents to DT's or are some of you still expecting? Either way, I would really welcome your pearls of wisdom as the news of twins came as a massive shock. DD1 is only 13 months so will be 19 months when the twosome arrive.

Happy new year to you all!

oooggs · 02/01/2010 20:27

welcome monkeymargot - we have newbies join us all the time and they are very welcome

I have a 21 mth gap the other way around. Dts were 21 mths when ds3 arrived. So now stand at ds1 (6) dd (2.9) ds2 (2.9) ds3 (11mths).

Congratulations on your pregnancy hope it is going well

MonkeyMargot · 02/01/2010 20:42

thanks Oooggs. Wow - you are a brave woman indeed having a fourth child after twins. Yours must be a busy household indeed!
Pregnancy going well thanks - just feeling a bit tired. Been lovely having 2 weeks off for xmas but back to work on Monday. Need to brace myself to tell my boss the good news...sure he's going to be delighted...

oh and Monkey - I have DTs (boys) aged 5 and DD aged 3! Stick with us and you'll be fine!

Derv78 · 03/01/2010 11:55

Good morning all.

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas & a Happy New Year. We spent most of Christmas with relatives who helped out w DD & DTs, so it was relatively chilled! Hard to believe Christmas is over, sort of crept up on me this year with the twins' arrival. Catherine had great fun seeing all that Santa brought!

Curio hope your DD has made a full recovery; that must have been really frightening for you. Sounds as if you managed things really well though.

MonkeyMargot congratulations on your news! I am a newbie on the thread (started posting a few months ago) but everyone is lovely, very welcoming, with lots of good advice.

Your situation is very similar to mine: my DTs (identical boys Adam & Thomas) were born on 10/12/09. My DD Catherine was 19months at the time of their arrival. It has been busy over the last 3 1/2 weeks, but we are coping pretty well, considering we had Christmas thrown in the mix too! DTs are doing very well & DD has adjusted remarkably well to their arrival (I had been worried about this as she thrives on 1:1 attention). She is quite gentle with them both (lots of kisses) which is surprising, as she loves rough & tumble!

Am sure you will cope very well. You'll get lots of good advice on here (from mums with much more experience than me!). It was a shock for me to find out I was expecting twins as well, but I wouldn't change things for the world, and I know you'll feel exactly the same when your DTs arrive. All the very best for the rest of your pregnancy. Hopefully run into you in the forum again!

(Yet another long post from me, someday I'll manage to keep it brief!)

oooggs · 03/01/2010 19:37

monkeymargot - not brave just mad and there are plenty even madder than me who have had more than 1 or 2 children after twins or triplets
