16 weeks I think.

More mornign sickness, tiredness and needing the loo than with singles. I felt movement really early and at opposite sides of my stomach at about 16 weeks, so I knew it was either an octopus or twins. Of course scans are normally done at 12 weeks, I don't think I had a clue before then. I didn't have one til 20 weeks and straightaway saw two heads.

jambuttie · 31/01/2007 14:43

I was only 6 weeks when I found out i was carrying twins

Tallysmummy · 31/01/2007 15:25

it was at my 12 week scan i found out. I already felt movements and was large for my dates but finding out was a shock as i already have a 20 month old!

auntymandy · 31/01/2007 16:06

well I feel huge!! Have felt movement from about 12 weeks. Not had a scan yet and only 1 visit to midwife.
Never really suffered from sickness with any of them, felt a little nausea this time, but nothing really. Think I am just big

no clues at all, found out at 12 wk scan, no symptoms after that either, not particularly massive, no sickness etc...was v tired though!

throckenholt · 01/02/2007 11:55

11 - at the dating scan. No clues apart from horrendous morning sickness.

maycontainstress · 01/02/2007 13:01

12 weeks at the scan. I had no clues at all, no morning sickness, first pregnancy so wasn't sure what to expect anyway. I'm a twin myself which prompted the midwives to give me an early scan. I was gargantuan by the end but not showing much at 12 weeks.

How exciting!

frumpygrumpy · 01/02/2007 13:49

At my 12 week scan which was actually around 16 weeks I think! I had felt hideously sick but then I did with DD1 as well...... Hope you will join us on the multiples thread.....we have couches, and hurricane lamps, and cashmere throws and cake and champagne. All waiting for you

I was barely 6 weeks, and so sick and exhausted that I thought I was really ill. Mind you, I was thinner than ever because I just couldn't keep any food in.

auntymandy · 02/02/2007 11:42

This will be baby no 6..imagine if there is more than 1!!!!!

twinsnikki · 05/03/2007 20:26

Evening all,

I found out at 6 weeks also. Should have guessed really, we have triplets in our tree!

At six weeks, there were three but by 12 weeks the other two had gobbled up the third, and to be honest, haven't stopped eating since!

I was absolutely drained and incredibly ill, no blooming stage for me, simply thin to fat!

Rollie · 06/03/2007 13:48

It was at the 12 week scan. No idea up till then, my first pregnancy. Oh and I'd never been so tired in my life I would literally come in from work and collapse into sleep on the settee!

Quinny70 · 06/03/2007 21:33

I found out at 8 weeks. I had a spot of bleeding and my doctor sent me for a scan but i had been feeling really sick and very tired with this pregnancey ( i've already got 2 girls).

TwoIfBySea · 06/03/2007 23:40

At 8 weeks as I had an ectopic beforehand, was told it would be unlikely for me to ever get pregnant. It was a very stressful scan especially when the woman was rumbling around with her scan wand thingy. Then she told me why.

devondoris · 11/03/2007 22:07

20 weeks scan, but did the dowsing thing earlier which wasn't quite answering the question and I didn't like to ask, "Is it twins?" cos I was too scared of the answer! Also had a friend who conceived the same weekend and who was still in normal clothes although I'd moved into maternity by 12 weeks or so. Also felt drained and ill earlier on. However, with all these signs I wasn't having any of it, and was absolutely horrified at the scan and cried a lot. Particularly cried, "Why me?"! If I could have spirited one of them away I would have done so.

Now understand why me and wouldn't lose one for the world. They're wonderful. If you do have two, you're going to be one lucky woman!

gtimama · 12/03/2007 22:35

I found out at my 12 week scan. Midwife said "there's one and there's the other one". Couldn't stop laughing, she had to stop scan. Mum was a twin, but her twin did not survive birth [mums 83 now]. Every time anyone in our family got pregnant she always said "Could be twins you know", no-one ever thought there would be.
