Just watched the Remembrance Service from the Royal Albert Hall, so moving.........the Poppy Girls were amazing, I defy anyone not to have cried when the little girls father turned up. Also the mother whose 23yr old son was killed in March in Afghanistan, I cried for her and I cried for our sons Shabs xx

So bloody proud of my kids. DH looked after Artie as I took the kids in town for the parade. They did 2 minutes in silence (mind you the twins were sleeping).

We were stood next this old man and K tugged on his sleeve and asked him he needed a tissue. The man accepted and within minutes he had K engrossed his stories of the war. Next thing I know K is taking hold of his hand and sayin, "I not forget you, okay." Well, I just burst into tears. During the silence A had tugged on a friend's dress trousers and held her arms up demanding up. She rested her head on his shoulder and stayed quiet.

After the awful night I had seeing my kids so well behaved and kind, made me smile. X

bubby64 · 10/11/2013 14:05

Mama - thats lovelySmile
It's the 1st year in many that neither myself or the boys are in the parade. Nice but strange to be able to watch it and attend the service as "civvies".
Proud of my 2 as well, they were happy and willing to get ready and go today, none of the usual teenage sulks and excuses.

bubby64 · 10/11/2013 14:06

Mama- just read your message agsin, whst happened ladt night??

MultipleMama · 10/11/2013 14:55

I thought I posted about it... mind must have been somewhere else.

Early Friday morning (day I was to go in with Artie) the ward called us to come in as they feared the worse for Apollo. Very scary, DH held me as I broke down. As the day went on his sats rose and his heart rate rose above 50bpm. They had to sedate him because trying to fight the infection was putting a strain on his heart. Then last night/this morning, his heart stopped, twice. Managed to get him back quickly, they've lowered the sedation does because they don't know if any damage has been caused so he needs a bunch of tests and scans. He's very unwell, they say it's all on him now to rest and give the antibiotics a chance do their job.

I want to be with him 24/7 as the doctors say we should spend as much time with him as possible. So now we're trying to figure something out. Artie needs me at home and I've already left my kids enough without doing it again. Total mess.

Gareth was discharged from hospital after 14 days because he was pining for Danny. His weight was 3lbs 15 (under his birth weight) when he came home and it was scary stuff. They said they couldn't do anymore for him and he needed to be with his twin brother. He did do very well when he came home. The consultant said they always like to keep multiples together as much as possible.

bubby64 · 10/11/2013 19:00

Mama- I agree with Soks about Apollo needing you there, It sounds like Artie is quite stable and can manage without you more than Apollo can Can you and DH work it so you can be there more, and certainly ask about taking Artie in.

MultipleMama · 10/11/2013 19:23

DH is staying there overnight and tomorrow we have a meeting with the head nurse and Apollo's team. Apollo has a bacteria strain that effects his lungs so I'm not sure they'd allow her in with him. We'll see xx

Night ladies. Hope you have all had peaceful days today.

Just a quick update before I konk out for a few hours while Artie is sleeping...

Meeting went well. I've been assigned a parent room with Artie - something about discharged twins being allowed. However she can't share his incubator; too many wires and they don't wanna risk both their healths. She's not allowed to be present during quiet time so she has to be with DH or in the parent room.

Tomorrow Apollo is having a transfusion as his platelet count is too low. He's classed as critically ill so DH and I are alternating days. Me tonight him tomorrow etc just so we can both do school runs and bedtime with the DC x

triplets · 11/11/2013 23:37

Mama you must both be exhausted, have you got any other help apart from your df?
I must try to get some sleep, had an awful dream last night that has upset me :(

Sokmonsta · 12/11/2013 07:57

Morning ladies.

Mama. (((Big, big hugs))). I've been reading the myths of Apollo and Artemis as your names intrigued me, so hoping Apollo follows his namesake's skills of healing. He has you all to fight his corner x

Trips. Hope you had a more restful sleep. I hate bad dreams that linger too.

just having a minute............miserable rainy night here, but MUST not moan when you think of all those poor people who are suffering after the typhoon :(

bubby64 · 12/11/2013 18:09

Mama - try to pace yourselves, ok? and healing vibes going out to your little man.
Trips - hope you get a better nights rest.
Hi Soks, Shabs and Chops.
Mum moves into her nursing home tomorrow, so I am going to meet her there when she arrives. Nasty neighbours have struck again, they have complained to enviromental health at the council about mums dog barking when we are out at workAngry what annoys me most is that we had the courtesy to tell them of the situation when the poor dog arrived, yet they still complained. I spoke to the bloke at the council, and he was very understanding, we also pointed out to him they had made 7 complaints to them over the years, not one of which has been upheld, and we have made 2 about them, both of which resulted in warnings from both the council and police, so Im not too worried, but it did anger me.

bubby64 · 12/11/2013 18:14

Oh, have to tell you, J gave me his ingredient list for his cooking tomorrow. He is making turkey mince meatballs and tomato sauce. The recipe he only needs 500g of mince, but 5 cloves of garlic, 3 for the meatballs, and 2 for the sauceShock!! Do you think the teacher has a fear of vampires or something??Grin

MultipleMama · 12/11/2013 21:21

Oh god, the newborn days are in full swing. Artie has been a right miserable guts today. She hated being picked up today so we left her in the bouncer by his incubator. Apollo's transfusion went well - though his heart stopped again but was back quickly enough. Now we'll wait and see if he needs another one. We have a few friends and my cousin offering help plus my dad and Sunday housekeeper. Pacing myself promise.

Bubs - 5 gloves!! Holy cow. I love garlic like an Italian but that... Also, hope your mum settles in okay xx

Trips - I usually love weather like this but not with newborns and outdoorsy toddlers!
