My nephew (Grace's Daddy) has been friends with a lad since they were both 5 years old. Over the weekend this friend has been walking along St Peters Way near our house. It is a stretch of motorway that links all the surrounding areas into Bolton. So very busy I hate being in a car on it. There are NO pavements on this road and the traffic flies up and down. A taxi has hit him and he has died. My nephew is distraught. He told me that he cant stop crying. Sad

There aren't any right words to say to him - are there Trips?

Good news for H - I hope Emily starts to improve. xxxx

No Shabs, there aren`t, just so much heartbreak in our world. xx

shabbapinkfrog · 04/04/2011 20:52

My Mum just got her results. She has a polyps (sp???) that does not need operating on and a hiatus hernia that they can sort out with medication. She (and my Dad) were so sure that she had cancer. My Dad just rang and he is soooooooooooooooooooo drunk ROFL. Kept telling me he loves me!!! xx

Brilliant news Shabs, what a relief. Em is the same, they tried to take her off the ventilator today but has to put it back on. She did move her left arm about so they are pleased with that, but she is still not speaking. Its now 48 hours since the accident, she is still here, thank God.
Wonder where Rubes isHmm

shabbapinkfrog · 04/04/2011 22:16

Oh Trips - I hope with every part of me that she is going to be OK. Sending my love to her family and to you. Its an awful shock for all of you xxxx

Morning girls xx

shabbapinkfrog · 05/04/2011 08:36

Oh what a wonderful mixture.....Lew arriving at 7 and crying for his Mum for half an hour....then both of us trying to wake Tom up....that took almost an hour. I am fuming with the pair of them. A 13yr old and a 2yr old first thing in a morning has to be the worst combination. Tom has to be in school for 20 to 9....its a 10 minute walk away and he left about 2 mins ago. He is in a foul mood and if Lew asks me one more time 'How many till Mummy comes home' I will throttle him!!!!!!!!!!

triplets · 05/04/2011 17:06

Oh Shabs...........its very early for the little lad to, what on earth time do they get him up? Becca is the same as your Tom, I wake her at 7.15am, she is stil in her bed at 7.50am, despite being called a dozen times. Eventually after some form of threat she slams the bathroom door. At 8.10am the boys leave, she comes down at leisurely sits having her b/fast, eyes plastered with muck, leaves at 8.20am, 10 min walk and gates shut at 8.30am, and she just doesn`t care! Every morning with out fail! Back later xx

shabbapinkfrog · 05/04/2011 19:14

To be honest Trips Lew is the alarm clock in the house. He is up by about 6, sometimes earlier. Wakes the whole house up. OMG I feel so taken for granted today - proper grumpy and miserable.

Have just had a talk with Tom about the getting up - I honestly cant cope with it anymore. How pathetic does that sound?

oooggs · 05/04/2011 19:16

sorry about the bad news Sad, happy for the good news on your mum shabs Grin(that it is treatable, I mean)

wouldn't fancy being in your house shabs with those pair in the mornings Wink

triplets · 05/04/2011 19:49

H keeps saying we should let her stay where she is, then go to school late and face the consequences, she probably wouldnt do it again. Emily is the same except her best friend thinks she tried to squeeze her hand this afternoon, staff said it might just be a reflex, God she has just got to be ok........H just gone off with the boys, trial night at the ATC, Becca is 4 miles away and has just phoned to say can Dad pick her up, he wont answer the phone, he is also very grumpy as he can`t have his quota of alc until he gets back, it will be the first thing he does, reach for the ice!! So I am having a nice quiet time:o

triplets · 06/04/2011 06:40

Goodmorning Shabs, sat up and could see the sunrise over the sea, beautiful morning. Big day for Em, they are taking her off all the machines, ventilator etc to see what she can do, por Nicky is beside herself, poor parents must be so scared. Hope the sun is a good sign...........xx

shabbapinkfrog · 06/04/2011 07:02

So do I Trips xx

shabbapinkfrog · 06/04/2011 07:05

Have private messaged you Trips xx

triplets · 06/04/2011 18:08

Shabs, late getting on here but have pmd you back, dont be daft:)
News on Em. They took her off of ventilator etc this morning, she is breathing well on her own, she has very spasmodic movement, is in distress and so far no speech:( We can only wait and pray, she is just the sweetest of girls.
I am off out tonight, my first book club meeting in 6 months, missed the last 2 because of H being in hospital, can hardly remember what the book was about, will look a right ninny:o

shabbapinkfrog · 06/04/2011 18:45

Thanks for the update Trips. Breathing on her own is wonderful. You touched my heart though when you said 'in distress'.........road traffic accidents are just so very, very scary. I wish her continued improvement and feel for her parents.

Enjoy tonight my friend and thank you xxxx

Well the sun is cracking the flags and Tom is off to Alton Towers with school. He is about 4 inches bigger than me now!!! That must make him about 5ft 3in - quite scary!!
