Interested to know what you would do if you unexpectedly received 30k?

Tummy tuck

@confusedlotsfinancial adviser.
I have a financial adviser (I'm not rich😉) invested a redundancy and a smallish inheritance, hes made me 37.5% so far on my investment.
You have to remember that investments can go down as well as up, it takes a steady nerve.
If you're not too worried about increasing your money then stick to the ISA

Denim4ever · 03/04/2026 21:18

Put in instant access savings to cover uni costs and next round of house reno. I could also do with a new bike so might get one for my birthday present to self

DeedlessIndeed · 03/04/2026 21:26

Stick it in my pension.

30K will be 100K+ by retirement age so a nice little boost.

I’d put a chunk in to the mortgage, some for a holiday and the rest into savings.

Same here!

queenofwandss · 03/04/2026 21:41

Pay off my debt and put the rest in savings, it would be a life changing amount for me.

RuudGullitOnAShed · 03/04/2026 21:42

Split it between an ISA, home improvements and a holiday

Gorgeouscombes · 03/04/2026 21:55

House repairs
new car
holiday

DawnAnn · 03/04/2026 21:56

I would use it to pay off my mortgage.

CleanSkin · 03/04/2026 22:00

New kitchen.
South American cruise.

Goldenboysmum · 03/04/2026 22:02

New hip, then when I was able I'd have a fantastic holiday with my daughters!

User0311 · 03/04/2026 22:05

Pay off the 5k on my credit card. Home improvements! New garden

TattiePants · 03/04/2026 22:30

Our 1.15% mortgage rate ends in January so we’re currently saving as much as we can to pay a big chunk off the mortgage before payments increase massively.

TroysMammy · 03/04/2026 22:32

New kitchen, kit out craft room.

topcat2026 · 03/04/2026 22:36

£25k towards a house deposit and £5k on a solo holiday in Los Angeles.

billandtedsexcellentadventure · 03/04/2026 22:48

spend it on a nice hol and doing bits around the house

LittleThingsMakeMeSmile · 04/04/2026 06:56

Overpay mortgage, invest, small holiday
Grow it basically as much as I could

ThisJadeBear · 04/04/2026 07:11

New kitchen
A really lovely holiday in the UK
Save the rest

dunroamingfornow · 04/04/2026 07:20

New roof and if there was any change cut down two trees !

FruAashild · 04/04/2026 07:26

S&S ISA, half in mine, half in DH's. When I got a slightly larger amount we did that and spent some money on the house.

Porkpieandmustard · 04/04/2026 07:32
  1. Pay off my loan (£13k)
  2. £5k into car saving pot
  3. Holiday to Norway
  4. Holiday to La Gomera
  5. If any leftover, buy some new clothes!

Garden, holiday and savings
