Want to reduce mobile phone bill?

Currently with EE and paying around £60 per month; but this includes my daughter’s phones which are in a lower price.

What people use? How much you pay?

Thinking of cancelling also spotify, but will discuss with the family first.

I buy my handsets outright and have sim only deals. The cost of a 2 year contract vs handset and £20 a month sim only works out significantly cheaper.

I buy my phone outright and am on a sim only deal with Voxi. I pay £10 a month for unlimited social media , unlimited calls, texts, picture messages and 45gb of data.

The deal currently being offered for £10 a month is now 60gb of data. All 4 of us are on this plan. Obviously there is the initial phone cost but we don't buy iphones. We have Android/Google Pixel ones.

I pay £7 and DH £5 a month sim only. We bought the phones outright about three years ago.

I works out at about £15-16 a month and getting cheaper the longer we keep the phones.

We bought our phones and pay £7.50/month with Tesco.
May even drop it down to £5/month as we neither of us use our allocated data/minutes etc.
Moved over about 4yrs ago and have always had excellent service.

If you have a look on martin lewis website they tell you the deals at the moment. We had lebara before and that was cheaper (£1.99) for the first 6 months then the price went up.

Buy a refurbished android phone outright + SIM only plan. Keep phone until it dies. Repeat.

I bought a sim-free cheapish phone from Argos (under £200) which will last me at least five years and recently got giffgaff (was on Asda). Free calls and texts and 50gb data for £15 a month. That 50gb has lasted me a month and I don't have access to Internet any other way (so no wifi).

Are you still paying for a phone as part of that £60?

As everybody else says buy the phone outright and a SIM only contract for data/calls etc. Currently c£10/month with Lyca for unlimited calls and more data than I'm ever likely to use.

I buy my phones direct from Samsung part exchange and 2 years intetest free. Which is about £25 a month plus O2 £8

Giff gaff is seriously overated. I only pay £8 for 50gb on O2

I bought my phone 3 or 4 years ago and DH has had his 5 years, but about to buy a replacement.

I put mine together in a spreadsheet and compare over a 2 year life cycle (i know you get more out of them, but it's easier for comparison)

Dh phone was cheaper to buy outright from amazon, and 2 year data - Samsung S24 plus

Mine was cheaper to buy a Samsung S25 ultra from Samsung directly with Three.

Redmi phone that was about £100, and £8 a month for the SIM.

Im paying £32 a month for my S25 ultra, and it was £19 down from memory, and I got a 'free' S9+ tablet - data wise - total cost £787

I've never had a phone contract, always bought Android outright. I'm on Lebara £5 a month. It's more than enough for me but when I go to Europe I add cash so I have £10 of credit. Works very well.

Just under £9 a month with Talkmobile for SIM only rolling. I also get favourable terms if I use my contract abroad. Cheap as chips. Like others I buy my phone outright because it’s mad to pay monthly for the latest thing.

I have a refurbished nearly-new handset bought via klarna from giffgaff. I'm paying pay £12 per month over 2 years for the phone (these payments will finish in December) and £10 per month for a service package with unlimited minutes and more data than I could possibly use.

I bought a Motorola handset outright for about £120 and pay £13.50 a month for a Lebara SIM. That gets me unlimited UK calls and texts, 50Gb a month data, and 500 minutes of international calls plus EU roaming. I could cut costs sharply if I didn't need the international minutes.

My sim cost is £8 a month.

Bought phone outright a couple of years ago.

Got a dumbphone for daughter. But if she needs data then again there are plenty of deals under £8 a month with enough data.

The cheapest they quote on their website for 50gb is £23 for a 24 month contract, how did you get this?

Buy handset every three years and £10 per month.
