Do I need to do something about this? Incorrect information held about me by HMRC

I've just started filling in my self assessment form and something really odd has come up - the auto-filled information from HMRC shows me as a company director for a company I have nothing to do with.

I am a sole trader with a small side hustle to my occupational pension. The pension information which appears automatically is correct.

I've deleted the company director information from the self assessment form (after screenshotting it).

Is this something to be concerned about? Should I contact HMRC or Action Fraud?

My data has been breached a few times in the last few years - once from an investment company and twice from my previous employer.

Nothing comes up about me on Companies House as far as I can see.

Thanks for any advice!

Yes of course, ring them and report it as incorrect, possible fraud. At least it'll be actioned.

Thanks, I'm stumped as to why it might have happened. Will contact them tomorrow.

I had something similar happen. I phoned them and got them to alter it, as online I could only say 'no longer employed at...' rather than 'wtf what is this - never happened!'.
They were interested and passed it onto fraud.
Waiting for an update now.
