Waiting for mine as well. Any wins normally go in on the 8th of the month.

WobblyLondoner · 08/01/2024 21:45

Mine arrived today too.

Cubbysnowdog · 08/01/2024 19:27

Anyone know what day we actually get the prizes this month?!

Was usually around 6/8

But as I am now reinvesting this year I won't know for sure

Arrived yesterday. £450 this month pretty chuffed!

WrenNatsworthy · 10/01/2024 03:41

Nothing on FH.
I was cross.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/01/2024 12:19

I put in £50k as seems some have full and don't win monthly

Still can't imagine ever having £50k unless I actually win £50k on pb 😂

But do you all tot up over the year winnings so if had a big one one month May not win following month

I won £1275 last year with FH. I think that is below average.

It's only temporary as it's going into trust soon for my son after I die.

It's 2.55% for the year.

That calculator demonstrates what we all know - how often you win and how much you win depends on only two things - luck, and how much you have in holdings.

littleblackcat27 · 11/01/2024 05:28

@Backinthedress Thanks for that calculator! Really interesting to compare statistics...

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/01/2024 09:25

Coz I'm bored and poor I've been playing - it said can work out £200k so that's 4 people at full investment - mum dad 2 kids for example

Not sure how many on here have full x 4 but if you do the link says this

So between you all should win £8.4k a year if average

The interest rate is being reduced from March!

BumFluffBumFluff · 11/01/2024 11:42

From Paul Lewis on X

The premium bond prize fund is to be cut from 4.65% a year of the total bonds to 4.40%. The balance of prizes has slightly shifted back towards the £25 prizes. Someone with the maximum £50,000 can now expect £1760 not £1860 each year equivalent to 3.52% taxfree down from 3.72%

Pemba · 11/01/2024 12:17

Not good.

But it also says in the article 'Premium Bonds savers will not see their odds go down', so I don't get it. Hmm.

WrenNatsworthy · 11/01/2024 12:31

Thanks @Cowhen . Wah.
That's really rubbish.

I wish I'd applied for one of the regular income bonds they stopped selling in August.

It's the amount of bigger prizes they're reducing, number of prizes remains the âme

mumda · 11/01/2024 13:52

Is there a chart anywhere showing how they've increased and decreased prizes?

Wolfcub · 11/01/2024 14:03

Just added a bit to my holding so that will be available for the March draw. I'm also one not intending holding PBs for long, it's a tax efficiency until the new isa year as my isa is full. But it's nice to see what it wins in the interim.

Not according to the Times article here:

The number of prizes will go down to 5.77 million from 5.84 million.

Move by Treasury-owned savings bank is seen as a sign that interest rates will come down this year

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/01/2024 14:50

So less prizes and less amount to win ?

OP posts:
1975wasthebest · 11/01/2024 19:55

Thanks for that link @Bretonbabe

31 million pounds less in total winnings is a hell of a drop.

PlipPlopChoo · 12/01/2024 00:46

Shit decision to increase the number of £25 prizes.

Who honestly cares about that prize?

Instead of increasing those they should have reduced how many £50 and £100 prizes were culled.
