£50 on almost FH very disappointing but better than nothing I guess!

Neversaygoodbye · 03/01/2024 06:51

Nothing here on 25K holdings. Disappointed as it's my birthday tomorrow so was hoping for at least £25.

recklessgran · 03/01/2024 06:52

£100 for me and £400 for DH so pretty good for us.

Cubbysnowdog · 03/01/2024 06:52

RockaLock · 03/01/2024 06:39

I think you are the thread high winner at the moment, @Cubbysnowdog - or at least your DH is!

£150 here on £30k ish, not too bad.

He has consistently won more than me even though having slightly less.

CaveMum · 03/01/2024 06:55

The problem with the advertised rate of return is that it is an average, not a guarantee. As with any “average” it is skewed by the big prizes as for someone to win those, lots of other people have to miss out.

Martin Lewis explains it well here: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/premium-bonds/#prizes

The bottom line is that at the moment PB’s are unlikely to give you a better rate of return than a lot of savings accounts right now. However if you are a high rate tax payer who has already maxed out your ISA and personal savings allowances then they can offer a better return, but not guaranteed! It all comes down to whether the return is the most important thing for you or if you’re happy to take a risk based on the chance of winning significantly more.

ButnotforLola · 03/01/2024 06:56

£175 for me on full holdings and £125 for DH who also has full holdings.

CaveMum · 03/01/2024 06:57

£325 for me from 6 prizes
£225 for DH from 3 prizes
Both on full holdings

sashagabadon · 03/01/2024 06:59

Nothing for me, 2nd month in a row

SentfromSamsung · 03/01/2024 07:02

2 x £50 for me - good start to the year

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 03/01/2024 07:07

£150 on FH

Cactusali · 03/01/2024 07:11

£350 for us on 2 x FH.

bluevelvetbox · 03/01/2024 07:15

£200 on FH. Would have liked more but better than nothing especially as lots of us on here have won nothing on FH.

Good luck to everyone yet to reveal the app.

WobblyLondoner · 03/01/2024 07:16

£450 for me on Fh & £100 for DS on £15k. Happy with that!

Wimbledonmum1985 · 03/01/2024 07:18

£125 for me on c.£13,000

Brumbies · 03/01/2024 07:18

£425 on full holding

1975wasthebest · 03/01/2024 07:35

Nothing for me this month on £5K, but discovering and downloading the blue app has made me feel better about putting in £1K six weeks ago and not having any wins from that (yet). It’s really handy seeing my deposits and when they’re eligible for wins.

Jellybean85 · 03/01/2024 07:35

£100 for us on &40k. Not great

clary · 03/01/2024 07:37

oooh £325 on FH for me! I got nothing in Dec so this is better!

Well done all the winners and sorry for those with no win :(

Agree it is coming to the point of "is it better in a high interest one-year bond?" now that rates are so much higher. I enjoy the thrill tho (esp today).

Lifestooshort71 · 03/01/2024 07:40

Nothing on full holding. A grim start to the year

Newestname002 · 03/01/2024 07:42

The nice thing is that my wins are (as I requested) auto-invested, so go straight into the next month's draw, rather than me having to wait a full calendar month as I do for completely new purchases. As someone said "every little helps". 🌹

ceecee32 · 03/01/2024 07:46

£325 on a full holding. Happy with that.
£2685 in 22 months

Saisong · 03/01/2024 07:47

£200 on £22k
Got £300 last month too
Happy with that

nearly55 · 03/01/2024 07:47

£50 on just under £10k. I was so close to moving the money elsewhere as I have had 8 months in a row winning nothing. Maybe my luck is changing this year!

BoogleBear · 03/01/2024 07:51

£150 on £19k which I am very pleased with.

MyRabbit79 · 03/01/2024 07:52

Joining for the first time to report £175 on £34k. Pretty pleased! I've had £60-worth since 1983 which have never won anything but I've recently topped that up with savings as I'm over my ISA limit.
