2018 started PIP Claim

Awarded 2 points
MR still 2 points

2019 Appeal gave me 16 points - lowest £23 odd a week

Couple more diagnosis since. Medication increased. Non of original illnesses have improved.

2022
Informed DWP of changes .

They took away all my points. Had MR, no change.

Appeal was this morning.

DWP hadn't sent me a 245 page document so it was cancelled.

Could cry. I'm not entitled to any other money and can't work, my heads friend.

I don't know what I'm asking I just wanted to tell someone.

I get ESA, enhanced daily living, enhanced motability (PIP). My husband works F/T AND we STILL get abit of UC. So you WILL be entitled to something.

Hi. Do you need to earn a certain though?

You don’t know that. You don’t know how much OP’s DH earns. You don’t know whether she has made enough NI contributions to be eligible for New Style ESA.

Hi. Do you need to earn a certain though?

It depends on your situation such as if you rent, have children, etc.

Hi. Do you need to earn a certain though?

It all depends on your situation - what your husband earns, if you have NI credits, if you own or rent etc.

Somewhere like one of the autism charities is your best bet for help as they can help you work out what you’re entitled to based on your specific circumstances z

AriannasGuitarCase · 20/09/2023 14:33

@benoticanarsed Does your area have an Adult Autism Intervention Service? If you're not sure, try googling or asking whoever diagnosed you. Unfortunately the help offered varies from place to place, but mine were excellent at putting me in touch with people to help with benefits

Flopsythebunny · 20/09/2023 15:15

There are 2 types of esa. income based which is is means tested and contribution based which you can only get if you've worked and paid ni in the qualifying period.

New claimants cannot claim income based ESA. It is now UC. Nor can they claim contributions based ESA, it is new style ESA.

This isn't right, that payment would correspond with low rate mobility but 16 points would have awarded high rate. Check your paperwork - the award notice form that period if you have it, it seems like they have mate an error

Not necessarily. OP doesn’t say whether the 16 points were for mobility, daily living or both. If OP was awarded 10 points for mobility and 6 for daily living an award of only standard rate mobility was correct.

comedownwithme · 20/09/2023 15:44

An fair point I wasn't thinking there!

benoticanarsed · 20/09/2023 16:31

10 was for moving around but strangely I'm fine physically it's going out alone.

I know we aren't entitled to financial help as we don't meet the criteria. Thanks all.

They said my medication has decreased showing an improvement but it's actually increased and they have mu medical notes.

It's like they have me mixed up with someone else

I'm waiting for another tribunal date. Sorry.

No as husband works so quite rightly I shouldn't get any help.

It's nothing to do with your husband. PIP is to put you on a par with everyone else.

Did you explain how your disability affects you, what you can't do and how you can't? I'm sure you did but just asking.

benoticanarsed · 20/09/2023 16:37

So sorry I mean I'm not entitled to ESA or the other benefits not PIP.

Yes told them everything but I'm not very good at explaining. But I sent evidence for everything.

Are you sure the 10 points weren’t for the mobility activity planning and following a journey? Under that activity you can get 10 points for cannot follow the route of an unfamiliar journey without another person, assistance dog or orientation aid or cannot undertake any journey because it would cause overwhelming psychological distress to the claimant.

Yes that was it
