PIP Appeal

benoticanarsed · 20/09/2023 11:09

2018 started PIP Claim

Awarded 2 points
MR still 2 points

2019 Appeal gave me 16 points - lowest £23 odd a week

Couple more diagnosis since. Medication increased. Non of original illnesses have improved.

2022
Informed DWP of changes .

They took away all my points. Had MR, no change.

Appeal was this morning.

DWP hadn't sent me a 245 page document so it was cancelled.

Could cry. I'm not entitled to any other money and can't work, my heads friend.

I don't know what I'm asking I just wanted to tell someone.

Tribunal said the DWP should have sent me copies of my papers and a thorough explanation. I said I have all mine and their documents but you have to have an appeal bundle with everything numbered and the tribunal have the exact same copy.

Yes they always need chasing up another thing I think they do on purpose to make claimants give up.

No my husband works but can't even cover the bills never mind give me money 😬😬

If you qualify for the support group then it doesn’t matter if your husband works.

You should speak to one of the autism charities and ask them for help.

PIP is meant to help with extra costs. ESA is the income replacement.

benoticanarsed · 20/09/2023 11:28

I don't know how DWP can do this to people and I know there are many worse than me

OP posts:
benoticanarsed · 20/09/2023 11:29

I don't belong to any autism groups or anything as I don't like mixing

OP posts:
Jeffreybubblesbombom · 20/09/2023 11:29

It's not the medical conditions you have to get PIP .. but the help you need for day to day living ( even if you don't get the help).
Look up SCOPE in your area.. they help you with tribunals.. even going with you.

You don’t have to attend a group. Lots of the charities have benefits advisors who can help you get what you’re entitled to.

That's OK you can contact the via email you don't have to go to any groups or anything. Google Autisim society <your area > see what comes up.

You can take a representative to talk on your behalf so if you found a benefit advisor from an organisation then they can go with you.

benoticanarsed · 20/09/2023 11:36

My husband asked if I'll get the money.

I said if I'm entitled to the money that means they know I struggle more than the average person and that I don't think or handle thinks like average people.

I said either I get the money and you have to realise there are issues with me or I don't get it.

He said I want you to get it but be normal.

OP posts:
benoticanarsed · 20/09/2023 11:38

Abd said if I have it it's only a little bit. Probably not even that. All the things I have are diagnosed and I have all the letters,

OP posts:
Mrsjayy · 20/09/2023 11:40

Well that's unfair on you saying "be normal " isn't going to stop you being autistic cure your anxiety or stop your dyspraxia. Benefits are for people who incur extra expenses in their life due to disability or illness you fall into that, and its a real shame your husband refuses to accept you have extra needs.

Unless OP is eligible for New Style ESA (what used to be contributions based ESA) she won’t be eligible for ESA. New claimants can’t claim income based ESA anymore, it is UC and DH’s income will be taken into account although they may still receive some.

Yes she maybe get something there is no harm in looking into it.

PinkBuffalo · 20/09/2023 12:44

Dwp is awful to deal with they were so awful to me

I did take it to tribunal it was a video court hearing

the court awarded me mobility and care both lower rate and back dated

i am dreading having to redo all this again a few a years but you have to keep pushing for the hearing and explain all you difficulties (I had to have someone to helps me with that as my communication is poor)

the court awarded me with no issues and the hearing was only about a 1 hour

Yes, it is worth looking into, but I was pointing out all the posts about OP being entitled to ESA regardless of her DH’s income aren’t necessarily correct.

Mrsjayy · 20/09/2023 13:47

@OvertakenByLego you are right I just assumed.that the op was entitled without knowing the new regulations I shouldn't have been so sure of myself.

JamieJ93 · 20/09/2023 13:51

I get ESA, enhanced daily living, enhanced motability (PIP). My husband works F/T AND we STILL get abit of UC. So you WILL be entitled to something.
