Carers allowance decision

Ok so I rang carers allowance to ask for an update. It's been 4 weeks since I claimed. Anyway she said a decision has been made but wouldn't tell me over the phone saying I have to wait for
The letter. She didn't mention whether I would get any payments or not. So I take it I haven't been accepted and will expected a declined letter in the next couple of days. I don't understand if my mum claims PIP and I care for her as she needs the support why would I be declined? Does it depend on how many points she has on her PIP? I'm sure if I was accepted she would have told me that on the phone so I'm guessing I haven't

@SBParker99 the first time I rang, they refused to tell me, the second time, the guy told me 'your application is 'live' then he had to explain to me the problems with the back pay problems
But I need to
Wait for a letter regarding the back pay issue

Mine took about 5 weeks to get a decision and I only
Got this by phoning but it actually took 8 weeks to get a payment and a letter. So it can be processed but you won't know unless you ring because the letter and payment takes it time

hi, sorry to jump on post, I applied on 1st may so been just over 3 months I’ve rang and they said someone has sent my application through as it’s been so long and over 12 weeks been told to ring back next week or week after anyone know how long it takes for it to be brought to their attention and come to a decision with it being over the waiting time they’ve said. Thanks

Cody3. Hi . My career allowance approved today after 16 weeks . Waiting for payment come throw in bank . Just got find out today . It’s been yesterday yesterday. They do take so long . I was fed up with 16 weeks .

Thankyou for replying and it was the same with DLA for my son that took just over 12 weeks it’s a nightmare they kept saying they was sending a form in post and I had to send it straight back rang after 2 weeks after having nothing rang again other day as still no letter but apparently it didn’t matter but I had a missed call off them first about it nearly there😂😂

Oh wow that’s a lot of backpay and a lot of people have said they haven’t received a letter but been getting payments normally takes a couple days after being approved. I’m just going to ring Monday to see if any change and I worked 20-30 hours then gone down to 12 so I could apply and be at home more with kids so from may for me. I did family fund last year think you can only apply every 15 months now due to how many are doing it now and that takes a while as well we had clothing have us £200 for certain shops x

Cody3. Ok thanks for your reply . I use to work as will 20 hours but when I apply for my son DLA I reduce to 13 hour . Career allowance not going to pay me all backdate money because I worked over my career allowance. They own me more then 2 thousand pound but only give me 12 hundred pound. Just waiting for latter come throw and find out .

Makes sense if you was working over the limit that you can go to with wages, and it’s better than nothing hunny it’s a no brainer working less being at home more with kids it gives me more time to do this with my son that he needs help with 🤞🏻For you x

I applied on line. Got the decision letter yesterday which was within two weeks. It said I was eligible for the allowance, but they wouldn't pay me anything because my weekly income was too high at £157.

Sha2022 that’s good I’m going to ring them today see if there’s any update, and Soonberaining how can you be eligible for allowance if you earn too much? And that was quick only 2 weeks of applying
