Hello everyone..
I have just made a claim for Ca, i made a mistake on the 1st form, i put down that my employment ended on the 23rd of march 2022 instead of 23rd feb 2022, when i submitted the 1st form it asked me to send in my p45 etc, when I submitted the 2nd form with the correct end date it didnt ask for my p45, would this be correct? Or should I send it in anyway?

Also does anyone know how long its taken to just now to be awarded?

Tia x

Mumof2gurls · 15/08/2022 13:26

I’ve rang up this morning and all they say is it’s with a decision maker does anyone know the full process? Just find it so strange I’ve had some one call me asking questions etc but a decision hasn’t been made x

Cody3 · 17/08/2022 15:56

@Mumof2gurls they rang me about 5 weeks in, if you work it tends to be to do with you’re work mine was. I rang today and a decision was made on Monday making mine just past 15 weeks wait hope this helps x

Shan727 · 29/08/2022 19:58

Will I just see the money in my account if im accepted, before a letter?x

cloXjr · 03/10/2022 18:16

hi there how long did you request a backdate for if you dont mind me asking

Cody3 · 03/10/2022 21:35

@cloXjr you can only have it backdated you to 3 months if it takes longer than that then from when you applied for it

cloXjr · 04/10/2022 07:37

@Cody3 no you can request a back date by putting the date you wanted the claim to start from

Imitatingdory · 04/10/2022 09:27

Carer’s allowance can only be backdated 3 months as long as you were eligible for it. The exception is if the person you are caring for has only just been awarded the qualifying benefit in which case carer’s allowance can be backdated to the start of their claim even if it’s longer than 3 months.

cloXjr · 04/10/2022 10:47

i have spoke to them on the phone, as the person i care for has been recieving the qualifing benefit for years and ive been caring for them years we have not long heard about carers allowance as i didnt think you could be paid for caring for a friend/family member
do you know anything about this and can give me any information on?

Imitatingdory · 04/10/2022 10:54

www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/sick-or-disabled-people-and-carers/carers-allowance/ This is a link confirming it can’t be backdated more than 3 months other than the circumstance I mentioned in my pp.

Kittykat841 · 09/10/2022 12:40

Hi, I was receiving carers allowance up until 12th September, they thought my son had stopped recieving DLA so they stopped my claim. Does anyone know how long it takes for them to reinstate my carers allowance, it's been 5 weeks tomorrow when I rang to confirm my son was still receiving DLA.

Mumof2gurls · 09/10/2022 19:56

Hey just an update I rang last week and was told told there was no change on my account but 2 days later received back payment, so all in all took 9 weeks for mine, hope this helps anyone waiting on a new claim x

Shannon26 · 11/10/2022 20:31

@Kittykat841 hey, I was just wondering if you've heard anything as the same thing happened to me my sons renewal took too long so they assumed he was no longer getting dla which he is, so my carers was stopped, anyways I rang and they said they'll send it to see if it can be reinstated that was the 5th September, still currently waiting I rang today and apparently its with a decision maker. Was just wondering what the process has been for you x

Kittykat841 · 12/10/2022 19:44

@Shannon26 Hi, sorry for the late reply. I rang them yesterday it's still with the decision maker, the lady put a urgent request through said it takes 72 hours, told me to ring back Thursday, will see what they say tomorrow x

Shannon26 · 12/10/2022 19:46

@Kittykat841 ah that's good! Hopefully they've actually got a decision for you tomorrow! How long has yours been with the decision maker if you don't mind me asking? X

Kittykat841 · 12/10/2022 19:53

@Shannon26 I rang them 12th September told them he was still receiving it, once I've rang them tomorrow will let you know what they say. Hopefully yours doesn't take too long too x
