Hello everyone..
I have just made a claim for Ca, i made a mistake on the 1st form, i put down that my employment ended on the 23rd of march 2022 instead of 23rd feb 2022, when i submitted the 1st form it asked me to send in my p45 etc, when I submitted the 2nd form with the correct end date it didnt ask for my p45, would this be correct? Or should I send it in anyway?

Also does anyone know how long its taken to just now to be awarded?

Tia x

Looks like we are in the same boat! 13 weeks for me on Monday and my claim was dealt with “a few days ago” but she won’t tell me either way what the decision is, I have to wait for a letter or a payment (hopefully!) I will let everyone know too, I know how frustrating the wait is. I fought for DLA for my son and I really don’t have the energy to fight this too at the moment.
I came to hopefully find some info on how long from decision to payment but will let everyone know when I get my letter!
Good luck everyone!

SBParker99 · 13/05/2022 12:14

@Emzi89 did you receive your letter or a payment yet?

Emzi89 · 13/05/2022 12:30

@4andapup I got told on the phone a decision had been made on the 6th and letter sent out on the 9th, I think received payment on the 12th. No letter yet though. Hope you're not waiting much longer.

@SBParker99 yes I got payment yesterday, still no letter though! Hope you're not waiting too long.

Canyouanswermyquestion · 13/05/2022 13:16

@4andapup what date did you apply for it?

4andapup · 13/05/2022 14:28

@Canyouanswermyquestion 13th Feb!

Canyouanswermyquestion · 13/05/2022 14:34

4andapup · 13/05/2022 14:28

@Canyouanswermyquestion 13th Feb!

Okay I was a week after you so hopefully mines is sorted by this time next week!

Canyouanswermyquestion · 18/05/2022 11:23

Just an update for anyone that cares 😂 just had a phonecall from someone at carers allowance, my claim has been sorted, just a few days over 12 weeks since i applied, sending backpay to my account today then i will receive 1st payment on Monday

SBParker99 · 18/05/2022 14:00

@Canyouanswermyquestion glad it’s sorted for you. i wonder why everyone’s times vary.some are so quick compared to yours

Ssabb90 · 10/07/2022 15:23

Anybody know how long it takes for uc to back date any disabled child elements? Because it looks like I’m going to be waiting a long time for carers :/ x

Mumof2gurls · 04/08/2022 11:01

@Ssabb90 how long did your back pay for uc end up taking? I’m still waiting

Ssabb90 · 04/08/2022 11:15

Believe it or not I am still waiting!! I informed them on the 6th of July. They aren’t even replying anymore, left them a message last Thursday and nothing yet. Really annoying x

Mumof2gurls · 04/08/2022 12:28

wow! That is disgraceful I actually can’t believe the system at all x

alnawire · 04/08/2022 12:36

I once waited 18 months and every time I phoned them I got nowhere. In the end it turned out it was due to me being self employed but an error meant my claim was never processed as far as them asking me to fill out the income form. When I eventually sorted it I got a huge back payment but then was just stuck in a cycle where i got nothing then a backpayment then nothing...

The only way I was able to sort it and get an ongoing payment awarded was by giving up work. Bizarre.

MrsYoung2010 · 11/08/2022 09:57

Hi could anyone help? I applied for carers allowance on July 25th and due to a large backlog with the Dla I actually should of been getting dla from march and therefore could of applied for carers allowance then also but back to my question I phoned to ask a few questions.

I was told on the phone that I was going to receive Carers Allowance but my application is with the final decision maker (obviously I don't understand the process) so my award is pending what does this actually mean and should I hopefully get a payment soon?

Lougle · 11/08/2022 10:03

Yes, the decision maker is the last step. They will decide if your claim should be backdated and how long for. If you informed them of the date of award, and the date awarded is March, then they'll backdate the Carer's Allowance to match.

MrsYoung2010 · 11/08/2022 10:05

Sorry for all the questions but how long roughly will it be now? Cause one advisor said She would reckon I would receive a letter in the next week but the next advisor said it can be up to 12 weeks maybe more? Is that worse case?

Ssabb90 · 11/08/2022 11:32

They are so inconsistent with what they say!! I was told they have up to a month to sort it all out and pay me, it took 4 weeks exactly x

MrsYoung2010 · 11/08/2022 12:20

When were you awarded?

MrsYoung2010 · 11/08/2022 19:38

Has anyone applied in July? Is there a backlog?

Simmo71 · 12/08/2022 08:20

Hi everyone, on the subject of carers allowance, I put my claim in on April 20th but had to cancel my wife's carer's first but I am still waiting for a decision, getting really peed off now, I have rang a dozen times and all I get is it's with the decision maker, does anyone else have similar issues 😡

Mumof2gurls · 12/08/2022 11:17

I’ve had a letter this morning ….. saying they are dealing with my claim and someone has just rang me asking questions about my
p45? Only put claim in on the 2nd?

MrsYoung2010 · 12/08/2022 14:42

How did you apply

Mumof2gurls · 12/08/2022 22:15

@MrsYoung2010 online x

Mumof2gurls · 13/08/2022 10:49

I’m really confused why would a decision maker ring me after ten days but it’s gonna take 12 weeks makes no sense does it? Xx

Mumof2gurls · 13/08/2022 10:49

Someone on a different thread told me the whole process takes 3 week from applying to payment xx
