@mogkat

I got bought £50 worth of bonds when I was born in 1985 and have never won a single penny Confused

I keep thinking about buying £50 for my son in PB rather than more toys as he has some Christmas money but I wonder if it's worth it?
His junior savings account interest rate is pretty much zilch!

You should look into a junior stocks and shares ISA?

@Eaumyword

So excited for tomorrow! We're all out of the house though so what to do..?! Hoping for a phone call Grin
They haven’t been visiting homes since the start of Covid - it’s a phone call!

Time to start picking up on those withheld numbers…

Eaumyword · 31/01/2022 11:06

Got it covered-DH ended up wfh today, me out but carefully monitoring phone activity!
Strangely enough, nothing yet....Grin

OublietteBravo · 31/01/2022 11:07

Surely you still win the prize even if you happen to be unavailable when they try to contact you? You’d just find out a bit later!

ithinkimdone · 31/01/2022 17:28

A man knocked on my door today and I was thinking "is this... it! Is this the day I become a millionaire!?"

Turned out it was some random bloke asking if id sell him my car for scrap metal Hmm. Thanks...

I feel this is a metaphor for my life, of sorts.

Eaumyword · 31/01/2022 17:37

Haha!
I've been twitchy all day - got a call from a random number but they just wanted to sell me solar panels and some bloke walked up our drive but was just delivering the village magazine! 🙄

RubbishDay · 31/01/2022 18:08

Hmm I guess I haven't won the million then. I had read they sometimes come in the evenings when it was in person but if they are phoning instead I assume it would have been during working hours.

WhatsWrongWithMyUsername · 31/01/2022 18:40

Let’s start hoping for £100k tomorrow. Or £5k would be fine too Ernie.

RockaLock · 31/01/2022 18:41

Yes, WhatsWrong, I think I'm aiming for the £100k this month now as well.

Mushrooms0up · 31/01/2022 18:45

I didn’t realise they phone now! Must start answering (albeit I’ve had zero missed calls today). Had already starting picking out my new house

🤣

I haven't had any visits or phone calls 😢. I'm always at risk of staying up until midnight when the high value winners are released.

Eaumyword · 31/01/2022 18:59

I end up pinging awake at 3am both results days!

VeganCow · 31/01/2022 21:25

You know like you check the high value winners list and it says date the bond is held from? How do you all know that date? I top mine up regularly rather than only depositing once, so wouldn’t know what date a winning bond was bought?

It’s a problem. Maybe withdraw £25 or £75 so you have a more unique amount?
KohlaParasaurus · 31/01/2022 22:13

Ah, well. Maybe next month. Time to close all the Rightmove tabs and switch to fantasies of how I'd spend £100,000.

VeganCow · 31/01/2022 23:34

That's a point, I do have a unique amount atm after my £25 winnings last month was reinvested

You can see the purchase dates for each block of bonds on your NS&I account, but it's not something you have to remember. I just look at the area and the total holding to see if there's a match. Then if there's the vaguest chance I might have bought, for example, £100 of bonds in July 2019, I'll sign into my account and look at the numbers of the bonds I hold. Then you can see if the winning bond number matches one of yours. Before I was on full holdings I also used to do the thing of keeping my balance at a random number (e.g. £15,473) so it would be easy to identify myself/discount others.

Speaking of the high value winners list, it's out now. Nothing for me this month Sad Somebody with a £50 holding has won £10,000 which is quite impressive.

RubbishDay · 01/02/2022 05:31

Hoping for a small win tomorrow 🤞

Eaumyword · 01/02/2022 06:06

Back to hoping for a small win tomorrow and back into work today as usual! 🙄

fedup078 · 01/02/2022 07:29

Not a single big win for my county this month

FiveShelties · 01/02/2022 07:31

Only one overseas this month and sadly it is not me. High hopes for tomorrow.

OublietteBravo · 01/02/2022 08:16

Nothing for me today. Fingers crossed for something tomorrow.

BarbaraofSeville · 01/02/2022 08:24

One of the millionaires came from my city. It's not me sadly.

Someone has won £100k from a £3k holding and another won £25k from a £300 bond they bought in 2003. I wonder if that's the only time they've won and they get all that, which is amazing.

I found a penny while out walking over the weekend and thought that my time had come for the big win.

Obviously my PBs haven't come up, except I'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out about the smaller prizes, but yesterday, while I was out walking, I did find a nearly new, perfect condition, version of an item that I had been trying to buy second hand for some time, dumped as part of a pile of rubbish on waste ground and I have no shame to say that I took it. Blush

So that's something for free that would have cost about £50 brand new, pretty pleased about that.

PrivateParty · 01/02/2022 08:44

No big win for me...

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/02/2022 09:44

No big win for me

But lots of smaller ones winning so gives me hope

And £20k won a million and £50 think was £10k
