Thanks! Smile

I’ve also been reading into the sagas of the FL bots and have identified a few from the descriptions - who needs Netflix?! Makes for sorry (but entertaining! reading!

I’ve also followed the recent (mis)fortunes of Wig & Sleaze - what a pair of dimwits! ShockConfusedShock

As the old saying goes - nowt as queer as folk!!

WellThatsATurnipForTheBooks · 04/09/2021 18:16

It's like a real life soap opera isn't it.

It's almost difficult to believe that these "characters" are really this stupid/predatory/manipulative/fake and exist in real life.

BSintolerant · 04/09/2021 18:52

Truth is stranger than fiction and most MLM bots are strangers to the truth: they wouldn’t recognise it if it jumped up and bit them.

AnnaLise84 · 04/09/2021 18:56

Haha, yes, exactly that! The mind boggles that it’s actually happening in real life! A melting pot of egos, greed, stupidity and on the safer end, just naivety and exploitation! Ripe for a “real housewives” type reality show but I suspect it already exists.

A lot of the “top” T S Life huns appear to be former FL ones who jumped ship en masse. The passive aggressive posts preying on the guilt of mums who want to spend more time with kids is so sneaky! I mean, many of us are now working from home and shock horror, many actually enjoy our proper jobs and going to the office! The set righteous is v annoying especially given that they appear to be glued to social media at every hour rather than spending quality time with children!

I feel sorry for some of the unsuspecting “newbies’ but there comes a stage when they must actually realise the scammy nature and if they choose to stay on and recruit/shill - well, zero sympathy!

It’s a very murky world…!

AnnaLise84 · 04/09/2021 18:58

Eek, apologies for typos - doesn’t seem a way to edit but I think it’s mostly clear! Grin

Welcome to the thread @AnnaLise84!

Law of attraction in play with Castle according to her.
Bought a motor home and due to the law of attraction the lodge sold in a few hours.

Defo not due to a huge spike in staycations and huge money being made by air Bnb hosts, thus a shortage of holiday let’s.

Having being part of an MLM ( FL) some years ago. News Flash didn’t earn a penny and look back at my social media posts from that time in horror!
Someone mentioned on this thread about ‘playing office’ and i think that sums it up. I work in own family business and it’s blinking hard work. I don’t have time to Instagram my desk set up of make ‘hilarious’ boomerang stories and reels. I’m actually working .

There is so much hypocrisy in mlm. Most (all) are not making money and seem to spend most of their time on social media either ignoring their kids or exploiting their kids on a highly open platform.

Massive things I learnt from being in an mlm

You can’t make money from it.
Your friends and family will not buy into it.
You will be 100 % cringe on social media
Making money is not easy either if you have a job or your own business.
There is no easy way to success
Mlm reps are total liars… even the ones that seem successful.

I’d much rather go to work, spend time with my children outside of work and not document every inch of my life on Instagram!

Spongebobette · 05/09/2021 14:09

Very well said @user1479228519!!

AnnaLise84 · 05/09/2021 20:40

Thank you Spongebobette! 😊

Thanks for sharing user1479228519. So pleased you managed to find your way out and interesting to read of your learning points. I hope others see the light. I can’t believe what an unregulated industry it is and how prolific too. I knew nothing about it up until last year!

Great insight, @user1479228519. How long were you in fl? How did you get recruited? When did the rose tinted glasses fall off, and you realised it was all a lie?
BSintolerant · 05/09/2021 23:15

Hello @user1479228519 - good on you for seeing it for what it was and for telling it as it is. Can I ask what attracted you to the millionaire lifestyle portrayed by Forever Living? (Apologies to Mrs Merton and Debbie McGee.) Grin Joking apart, how and why did you get involved with Forever Living? Are those who recruited you still up to the neck in it or did they see the light?

user1479228519 · 05/09/2021 23:55

I was recruited by a distant family member on my husbands side of the family. This particular family member had a very wealthy spouse ( who had a real life job but had worked his way through to be so successful) So the Instagram lifestyle of designer clobber / sports car / flash holidays was not fake, but not as a result of mlm. She very much portrayed this lifestyle as a consequence of the mlm… all lies.

I was at a real cross roads in my life. I’d been in a family based business for over 15 years and was frustrated at not really moving on. I was looking for something else. FL I thought would be my ticket to wealth. Having seen fellow FL reps seemly early lots of money for relatively little effort. I was totally sucked in . I went to one of the business presentations at a hotel and saw it as a no brainier.
But it’s all smoke and mirrors. You cannot earn big bucks by simply selling the products. Mainly because they are so over priced. You have to recruit and then you become a predator.
Every person you speak to, every social situation, you cannot relax because you feel you have to sell them into FL.
I quickly became aware that the deceit started from the top and trickled down. I went to a top FL reps home once. She was giving me ‘advice’ about my social media and said I should post inspiration photos of holidays etc. I explained that my life was not that exciting… she told me to ‘fake it’
I realised that this was not a real business. My family business has it’s faults but it’s an actual business. We don’t have time to document our every move on Instagram, my desk looks messy and quite uninspired ( because I’m working ) and I have a simple note pad and to do list ( which I do not feel the need to take photos of and share)

The inconsistency of some of these MLM reps I’m watching on social media is outrageous!

‘I’m highly organised… yet oops I forgot everything’ ?? You can’t market yourself as an expert at something but clearly show how unorganised you are!

The endless weight loss c9 activity is so ironic I can’t even deal with it….. yes clearly it works so well I need to do 3/4 per year!

This people are not business people or entrepreneurs.

I’m so glad I’m out of it.
If you are reading this and contemplating joining an mlm. DONT!

user1479228519 · 06/09/2021 00:02

Oh and the girl who recruited me is no longer in FL. She gave up soon after I decided to move away from it. Despite recruiting about 5/6 girls she couldn’t make it work. She really wanted it to and put so many hours into it. She was travelling miles to go to business presentations, meetings and spent endless hours on social media ( all with a very young child)
In fact none of the girls that were at the top FL reps house I went to are still involved. All gone.

I’m seeing a real rise in FM on social media as well as the NUskin and that buzzing thing that goes on your face. If I see another Instagram feel about cleaning your face with a vibrating bit of plastic I think I’ll Chuck my phone out of the window…..

MarchXX · 06/09/2021 07:39

Thanks, @user1479228519. Your insight into how real businesses are run was very valuable I think. It helped you to realise quite early that MLM is not real business at all, just a deceptive grift.

I am watching a dear relative immersing herself on social media and pushing magnetic eyelashes and makeup (was in TBSAH), it is so sad. She is a classic victim; a carer for her dementia-suffering dad, desperate to make money from home. She is my age and it is so weird, I could never wear that amount of makeup/false eyelashes every day. I know she wouldn't either Hmm. Makes me very angry as she is a lovely, lovely lady who is going though desperate times.

I am glad you are free of MLM now and hope that you have found another real business to do outside your family. Best of luck Flowers.

Nurse's Clean 9 story updates are painful. I feel sorry for her, seems as though Yawn has just cast her aside.

Spongebobette · 06/09/2021 08:46

It annoys me that Nurse is going to work after 2 days of hardly any food - to an actual job where she needs to be firing on all cylinders

I suspect she’s doing 2 C9s in a row to impress the ‘team’

Yawn has realised she’s not a money maker, but does prod her from time to time to keep her going, to keep her making purchases and just in case she recruits someone

Spongebobette · 06/09/2021 08:49

And she’s a nurse FFS!!!! She should know better! Boasting about ‘4lb off’ after two days of no food and saying she’s been ‘weeing for England’

AnnaLise84 · 06/09/2021 08:58

Any clues on who this oft mentioned “Nurse” is?! Thanks.

user1479228519, thanks for your honest insight and I wish you all the best and every success with your future (non mlm!) ventures! Smile

mermaidtales · 06/09/2021 08:58

I really feel for her - single mum (I'm presuming) desperate to move house and reduce her hours, chasing a pipe dream. 2 clean 9's will have set her back approximately £200 and we all know that if she does lose weight (unless she then maintains it properly) she will regain it all fairly quickly! And yes, you're right, she's a nurse - she shouldn't be buying into this ridiculous diet.

Spongebobette · 06/09/2021 09:15

Same first names as JFK daughter, second same as Cameron’s chancellor

Spongebobette · 06/09/2021 09:16

(I suppose she got her ‘discount’ buying the C9s but still outrageous to spend money on a box of pills and shakes)

WellThatsATurnipForTheBooks · 06/09/2021 10:50

It made me laugh that she mentioned, more than once, that "things go downhill from here" (as in after day 2 of the C9).

fromdownwest · 06/09/2021 11:02

All the major bots are on a C9 Drive at the minute it appears, they have to reset their behaviours and mindsets towards food. Do any of their followers, not question, that if this was such a mircale switch then why are they needing to reset their habits after 8 years of being in FL?

And don't get me on their miracle tablets that block fats and calories... is anyone stupid enough to belive that these exist?

WellThatsATurnipForTheBooks · 06/09/2021 12:33

...and do the followers just not notice that the majority of these higher up bots struggle with their weight and are obviously not getting any slimmer as the years tick by ?

The ones that don't have weight problems are heavily into their exercise .... eg. Yoga Bot and Castle's BFF.
It's not down to magic pills and C9s.
