rhij86 · 01/06/2021 11:51

Morning all,

Thought I'd start a new thread for June as I couldn't see one that had been done yet. Ignore if I've cross posted!

I'll post the links for all the sites shortly, but for now here's a link to the last thread: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/legal_money_matters/4252763-2nd-Part-of-Mays-Earn-10-a-day-thread

All welcome, new and old alike - let's start the summer off with a bang and get earning those pennies! Hope everyone has a good month.
@seizethecuttlefish, thank you for replying, clock of screen shot ? and if it's the email confirmation am I screen shot the whole reciept?
The time and date will be at the top of the email confirmation which is your receipt. Screenshot the email so that all the details are included. I use Paint to crop and block out details such as card numbers.

PandemicPalava · 10/06/2021 00:55

Just completed first A*r purchases. That was so so scary!!!

jumpingforjoy · 10/06/2021 06:40

@Baby89 I save the email confirmation as a pdf (print and choose save to pdf) and then upload that.

Baby89 · 10/06/2021 07:18

Thank you @AVL, @PandemicPalava Confused same here. @jumpingforjoy do you conceal card details? Thanks

jumpingforjoy · 10/06/2021 07:21

No, it's only the last 4 digits that's shows and that is useless to anyone! My address etc I don't bother either as anyone at Appen has that info anyway 🤷🏼‍♀️

milkshakeandchips5 · 10/06/2021 08:53

@swiftt can I ask some questions about Rev? I've just started so still a newbie!

To what extent are they forgiving on errors? Does it have to be 100% perfect? Or are small errors okay?

Is it common to get transcripts that are already pretty good! I'm doing one at the moment that's relatively basic, one speaker, clear accent but the base script they've given me seems pretty near perfect! I've had to make very few changes and now I'm doubting myself!

Catatemyhomework · 10/06/2021 09:14

Well I've just taken the new At**s quiz on Appen. I think I've buggered it up as I overthought it and spent too long on it. Annoying me now as it really was quite straightforward and if I'd looked at it with different eyes I'd have known that!
Finished my hours for SD for the week. Hope it's still there on Saturday. No work on Riv. I'm quite glad of a small break. I'll catch up with some house work!

swiftt · 10/06/2021 09:35

@milkshakeandchips5 of course! In my experience, they tend to be on the forgiving side error-wise. There are certain errors that are considered major and will get you a point or several points deducted from your grade. I haven’t had a grade that’s less than a 5 yet, and I’ve made quite a few minor errors so I’m much more laidback about it than I was to begin with. The good thing is getting feedback so at least you know where you’re going wrong, if you are.

The better quality audio files do tend to have much better AI transcripts (Line files) to work from. Some of them just need a light edit. It’s nice to have that option when you don’t feel like tackling a from scratch file. But I find that these files tend to be the lowest paid. The audios with clear, usually American accents, are picked up much better by Line. When it’s an Australian accent, I usually end up having to delete the draft and start over because it really doesn’t seem to like those! But definitely stick to the files you’re comfortable with until you’ve got a few grades under your belt. Then if there are any issues, you’ll have a bit of a cushion grade-wise. A 3 or a 4 when you don’t have many grades can put you on a warning. The forum on there is also super helpful. I always ask questions there if I’m unsure about anything. But if you stick to the style guide and use common sense, I don’t think there’s much to worry about errors wise!

@Catatemyhomework I did that one too last night as the deadline is today. Shame we were on a timer because if you weren't sure of the answer or just wanted to clarify it on the guidelines the timer went down quick but when you knew the answer you couldn't submit too early and risk getting booted off!

I wasn't sure on one or two either so will just have to wait and see.
Fingers crossed

rhij86 · 10/06/2021 10:24

Anyone else applied to some of the new (well I think they're new) malta projects - you have to fill out a form and give some interview style answers!

A tip to anyone doing it - the form appears to be the same, I spent ages typing out my answers for one only to have a second questionnaire with the same questions. Have to type it all again now! So if you're doing this, copy and paste your answers somewhere so you can just reuse them :)

I did the At* quiz last night but after a few submitted one too quickly and got kicked, doh. Emailed and they seem to have given me access back so finished off this morning. Not getting my hopes up to actually get work though!

Frenchdoors1 · 10/06/2021 10:31

@Buster27 Oh isn't it frustrating but it's so easy to submit too soon even though you know you shouldn't.
Glad you got the access back though.

Catatemyhomework · 10/06/2021 10:40

@Frenchdoors1, thanks. Definitely keep fingers crossed. 🤞I don't hold out much hope though. I know I got one wrong and possibly 2. Passmark is probably at least 90%.
@Buster27, that's so annoying. Glad they let you back in again.
@rhij86, thanks for the tip RE Malta projects. I need to have a look on the projects board and see what's out there. Been busy with SD and Riv sometimes when it's on but know these amazing projects will not last forever! 😢

rhij86 · 10/06/2021 10:48

At**s seems to be another one that's passed me by. It's just sitting in my 'applied' pile, not had any quiz requests or anything. Ho hum!

For those who were having problems with Payoneer account, mine has just been approved when I called and chased it again. Definitely worth pestering them! They asked for my customer ID which is on the app if you touch the 'more' section at the bottom

universal83 · 10/06/2021 16:11

Given up with my Appen it keeps messing around BUT

Made £10 on Prolific today and £3 on QMEe

YonderTweek · 10/06/2021 16:51

Erm. One of the companies I purchased a product from has emailed and asked how I found out about their products. I just received a call from them too, and the owner left a voicemail saying they're just really keen to find out why they are getting all this traffic from. Obviously I'm not allowed to mention the job, but I would love to be able to help somehow. What do you guys usually say when the seller contacts you?

AdaShelby · 10/06/2021 16:56

I ignore Yonder, I don't want them reporting me to Appen and getting fired.

YonderTweek · 10/06/2021 17:23

Yeah I think I will Ada. I was just thinking that I could say something like I saw an advert on social media but I don't really want to risk my job. Hmm

Rgy3250999 · 10/06/2021 18:53

@namechangerforthisconfessionn Oh, which number is this please as the one I tried said they weren’t taking calls at the moment from people with inactive applications. I even tried not entering my customer number so it wouldn’t know but just cut me off altogether at that.

superpinkgirl · 10/06/2021 19:01

@YonderTweek I've also been getting emails and voicemails asking where I heard about one of the companies (most likely the same one). Feel a bit annoyed at being hounded by them to be honest. I will be trying to return the item!

universal83 · 10/06/2021 19:14

So sorry how do I raise a support ticket with Appen or send them an email? I can't log in at all and I don't have their support details x

Catatemyhomework · 10/06/2021 21:02

There is work in the UK link 2 Riv Smile
