Ok I'm definitely going to put it in. I know about the LISA but I need to access these funds quickly if I want.

I guess you can win the million with a few bonds as well as a thousand no?!

Billandben444 · 05/11/2021 05:33

I've had 50k in for years and used to average £50 a month. Since the prize rate dropped, sometimes it's nothing and sometimes £25. The fixed-rate bond interest rates are now 1.55% which makes me think I should be a bit sensible here but it's the lure of a bigger prize that keeps us invested, isn't it? It's not really spare cash but an unexpected windfall so I could do with a regular sum each month but then there'd be no excitement each month! Decisions!

Quite unlikely, but someone won £100k with £1000 of bonds, or something like that, in the last few months.

Surely it's the same as lottery tickets? If your ticket is picked it's picked, whether someone has bought one or hundreds? I get the thinking that you'll have more chances but one is all it takes, no?

In 2004 a person owning £17 worth of bonds brought years ago won the million 😱😱😱😱😱

£17 wins million%

I’ve just opened an account and sent 20,000 into it (it’s most of our savings so I felt a little sick sending it out of our account). It wasn’t earning anything really sitting in the bank so I’m hoping this will be a good idea.
First draw will be January 2022 as I’m awaiting a welcome pack and registration now.
As we save more is it easy to send more money across into the bonds?

DaydreamerBetty · 06/11/2021 21:30

ClassicFMsavedmycat it’s really easy to buy more bonds once you set up your online account. You just purchase more using your bank card for payment. Minimum you can buy is £25. Good luck for future draws.

ClassicFMsavedmycat · 06/11/2021 21:37

Thank you! I’ll be happy when It’s all set up and I can see my money in there. I’ve sat on it for years, too scared to move it (I’ve never had much money and the balance gives me security) but it’s silly, it’s not doing anything say in a bank account that pays 0.1%.

Let’s give this a go!

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/11/2021 00:08

@ClassicFMsavedmycat if you win the million in jan we want part Share 😂😂

£0 for me on £25k this month, £25 for DH on £max

Think I’ve had £50 total this year Sad

TulipsTwoLips · 19/11/2021 07:18

Got to take our savings out next month, so if we don't win this time there's no chance Sad

RubbishDay · 19/11/2021 08:09

Hoping to join this thread. Have been pondering what to do with our savings sat earning nothing in the bank account and have just transferred £20k into premium bonds.

Won't be eligible for any draws until January but looking forward to the anticipation Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/11/2021 15:16

Have you won anything @TulipsTwoLips
