Apologies if this has already been asked, but I'm curious. If you win a small amount (£25, £50 - all I've ever won), you get a nice email with a heading like 'Hooray! You won!'. But do you get the same email heading if you win, say £5,000? £100,000? Or is it more exciting?

Basically, how excited is it reasonable to be when I get one of those normal emails?!

I have £30k and four draws in now. No wins yet. I guess im heading for the big one. It should happen soon as i have identified the property i want on RightMove

About a year ago I won £1000 and I've just looked back through my emails and the email I got that month looks exactly the same as all those I've had when I won £25. I don't know if there's any difference for the much bigger prizes like £50k.

But those of us on here in the know don't need to wait until the emails arrive to know how much we've won because we've already:

Noted the lack of a visit from Agent Million on the last day of the previous month.

Looked on the NS&I website on the first working day of the month where the big winners (£5k+) are listed along with total holding amount and town/county.

Looked at the app on the second working day of the month where you learn about whether or not you have won a smaller prize and how much.

In my experience the emails don't arrive until after all of the above.

Right, thanks. In that case, I'll continue with my current tactic of staring hard at the email, trying to work out from the vibrations in the air around me whether it is a 'slightly lucky' or 'really lucky' email. So much more fun!

I'm not really in it for the millions. I'd be a bit freaked out by that car coming to my house.

My mums friend (the 25k win) got the same message you normally get but just had a larger amount in.

THANK YOU Blondes - I was looking at the high value winners feeling a bit despondent at the thought of no big win again - but now I realise that I have another couple of days of feeling hopeful (before my hopes are dashed once again )
