@Isobels

Sorry if this is a silly ? I’m unsure how they work.. Is your money safe in premium bonds? I have done some minimum research and says your money can decrease due to inflation if you do not get regular wins?
You can always get back every penny you invested, no fees, no hassle, and the PBonds are absolutely secure. Winnings are tax free.

With a lottery ticket, if it doesn';t win you've lost the money you paid. With PB's, if they don't win you've still got the money and another chance every month.

If you put £100 in a biscuit tin under the bed and left it there, in a years time it will be worth slightly less , (about £99.50)because of inflation. Same with PB's if they don't win anything.

I have a big holding of PB's and their win-rate is beating inflation.

Nothing here for me or DS. I haven't had anything since October last year, and he got £25 in Dec and Jan.

1st month and won £100 - very happy with that!!

userxx · 04/04/2021 07:26

@absolutelyknackeredcow

Nada. Again We have nearly max holdings and we haven't won since Sept Angry

That's rubbish! It really is luck of the draw.

Dyrne · 04/04/2021 10:53

First month all £10K I have is eligible for the draw. Got nada! Am playing the long game though - only need to win £40 across the year to beat the highest savings account available atm (0.4%). All I need are 2 x £25 wins this year and I’ll be ahead!

Pemba · 04/04/2021 10:56

£75 this month for me on £47,000. Quite pleased, that's my biggest win so far. Have won £175 in total over the 5 months I've had them.

That’s the way to think

I have decided to join you all. I only received £24 in interest last year on my savings, £11k in an ISA. So with a minimum win one month I'll be a bithead.

Clickncollect · 04/04/2021 14:15

£25 in full holding this month

iwishiwasatcentralperk · 04/04/2021 14:28

I invested £5500 a few months ago, and increased to £6250 after a Xmas bonus. I had two £25 wins the first month and nothing since, but not expecting to win every month, or ever again possibly Grin. I think they fix it so you win the first month and think it's a great idea Grin Grin

WobblyLondoner · 06/04/2021 08:12

First draw with full amount, won £25. My DP got zero on a full holding :(

Do you all get emails to let you know or do you check? I was expecting to get a message but had to check. I've now changed the notification to text.

I usually check the App. I do get an N&SI email but usually a day or so after the results in the App. It seems Which? know the top winning numbers early also and give those winning numbers in their email newsletter. 🌹
PrivateParty · 06/04/2021 09:03

That's a good point. I've not had any communication about my first win last week yet. Maybe delayed because of Easter?

Mistressinthetulips · 06/04/2021 09:17

I only know through the app, I haven't had an email

I'm assuming you have an NS&I online account? If so then check there - you'll need your NS&I account number and possibly your Holders number. 🌹

I retired 2 years ago and invested in premium bonds after seeing my DH regularly winning £25......since joining the party, neither of us has had a sniff of a prize! 🤣🤣

So maybe I'm not quite as unlucky as I thought I was - though there's lots of room for improvement!! 🌹
thevassal · 07/04/2021 14:23

Anyone else getting their "you've won" notifications later and later each month? Just received my email today, six days after the draw! Obviously I'm not that patient and check the website the day of the draw Grin but it seems a long time for what must be an automated process. It doesn't even say how much you've won, just tells you to log in to check, so seems a bit pointless!

OublietteBravo · 07/04/2021 14:28

I still haven’t got my email for my April win.

ChessieFL · 07/04/2021 14:39

Got my email today - I got very excited seeing the ‘you’ve won’ subject until I realised it was a prize I already knew about!

I assume emails were delayed this month due to the bank holidays.

Clickncollect · 07/04/2021 14:45

Yes same, I just received my email today! I also got excited and then remembered I had already won a whole £25!

Newestname001 · 07/04/2021 15:05

Yes I also got my confirmation email this morning - after I'd already checked on the App. 🌹

Pemba · 07/04/2021 15:33

Yes I got the email today, but I already knew from checking the website Saturday. Then it will probably be another few days before the money is actually paid. Like the pp said, seems unnecessarily slow for what must be an automated process. But I'm not that bothered, just seems a bit inefficient.

Constance11 · 07/04/2021 19:17

I've had £1000 in premium bonds since 2006 and have won zero. Has anyone else been so unlucky as me? 😭
