Hope you’re all well and have had a fantastic month of money making in April. And of course, welcome to anyone just joining us. I’ve finally managed to hopefully put together a more comprehensive list of absolutely everything I can think of to help people maximise their earnings in these uncertain times, some are referral links where me/the user earn some sort of reward, but you are under no obligation at all to use them. As always, referral links are more than welcome

I just want to get this out of the way and say that please, I know times are really tough for so many people, and tensions are high, but please don’t take it out on others on this thread. I really want this to be a place of support, rather than people ripping into each other in frustration. People on here also aren’t being intentionally secretive or evasive about work they are doing, it’s simply a case of not wanting to risk breaching their NDA and losing income.

For people getting despondent, I think most of us go through that from time to time. I completely get that. I had a tough few months after a few really good ones and if you're relying on this as you're only income, it's so hard sometimes. The whole thing just comes and goes. Appen is up and down and there's no guarantees that the thing you work on today is there tomorrow. I don't like the uncertainty. If it helps anyone to know (and I'm sure a few people could share there personal ups and downs too) I failed the first 3 Appen quizzes I sat. I failed LBridge after 3 days of studying. I wasn't quick enough to pick up a lot of the clickworker tasks and thinking of it, I've failed some of their quizzes too. I tried cloudworkers and hated it. Had interviews and test classes for online teaching and didn't get anywhere. I'm currently doing hours on potato and hoping I'm doing ok as that's my main income. But, if I hadn't found this group in July I'd probably still be having sleepless nights and wouldn't have met some good people and someone who I count as a mate!
First month I made...drumroll...$5 Confused

ZetaPuppis · 14/05/2020 20:26

@seizethecuttlefish
That lb exam is a bloody hard but I got offered a resit and passed. Haven’t started working yet but people here and around internet keep saying it pays v badly. I’m just hoping I’ll make some regular income.
Hopefully you’ll get offered a resit

Adelais · 14/05/2020 20:48

I’m a potato newbie... should I have got an invoice today for April? Do they email it to you?

BertieBotts · 14/05/2020 21:03

Clickworker pay can sometimes be a bit odd because of the time difference. But if you've had over €5 in payable since last weds and haven't had a payment by Saturday I'd email them.

seizethecuttlefish · 14/05/2020 21:31

@Adelais you should get an email for you to produce an invoice in the next couple of days.

ruralwanderer · 14/05/2020 21:40

Thanks @BertieBotts 👍

Adelais · 14/05/2020 21:42

Thanks @seizethecuttlefish will look out for an email.

lilmishap · 14/05/2020 23:06

@Adelais it came up on slack theyre counting the 15th as the Tenth business day. My first pay from them so no idea what that means

lilmishap · 14/05/2020 23:12

To back up what @seizethecuttlefish said Ive been here since the start, managed to pay off some bailiff level debts in the first six months then had a shit time for my sons bday due to nothing happening. This shit works but it isnt consistent reliable income.
Peaks and troughs all the way for me, BUT when its good its very very good.
I didnt do cloudworker I did another one (cant remember the name) that was hard work but reliable, I gave it up cause you have to be in the zone and I just wasn't throughout February.
STICK WITH IT.

lilmishap · 14/05/2020 23:13

Is @Lougle still about?

AStubbornlyPersistentIllusion · 14/05/2020 23:51

Couple of questions I'm hoping some kind soul will be good enough to answer...

How long does 20 Cogs take to complete from start to finish? I'm very tempted by it but worried I'll end up with unwanted subscriptions and out of pocket.

Trading 212 people - I keep reading about folk buying their £1 share, making a good profit fairly quickly and cashing out but has anyone ever been left out of pocket by it or left their investment in place and ended up making substantial returns?

Hope someone can advise.

curdsandwhey · 15/05/2020 00:32

@AStubbornlyPersistentIllusion I've got about half way through 20Cogs so far, in about 5 weeks. I highly recommend taking it slowly. It's the people who get the whole thing done in a day or two (which you can certainly do) who end up being signed up to pointless stuff they don't want. I'm taking it slowly because 1. I refuse to take part in gambling sites, which a lot of the offers are, 2. I won't sign up to anything that looks spammy, and 3. I'm insisting on only signing up to things that look at least vaguely interesting or useful to me.

There's 2 other advantages to taking it slowly, which the all in one day people don't realise. Firstly, the offers change every few days. So if you get to a cog where nothing interests you, just log out and leave it a few days and there'll be something new. Secondly, they have a prize draw every week, usually a £50 voucher. To be entered into the prize draw, you have to complete a cog that week. So if you do it slowly you'll be entered into a prize draw more often.

Keep a spreadsheet or diary to record everything, and make a note of any subscriptions and the date you need to cancel if necessary.

Hi all I’m a complete novice and no idea where to begin or what’s expected. I’m single parent and struggling financially, also dyslexic and not the sharpest knife...is it still possible for me to earn online from home and where do I start? Would you recommend using laptop over my phone? What sorts of things do I need to know and which ones should I apply to?

Thanks Flowers

MrsWombat · 15/05/2020 07:29

@seizethecuttlefish Did you say you got another email about Ozark? I've not got one.

seizethecuttlefish · 15/05/2020 07:43

@MrsWombat don't know if it'll come to much but one saying you've been accepted for Oz Web.

MrsWombat · 15/05/2020 07:47

@seizethecuttlefish did you ask to be pivoted? I can't remember who that was?

girlicorne · 15/05/2020 08:02

It was me that asked to be pivoted, I was referred to the projects to apply for list. Which I check daily 😀 I was on oz web though and that’s finished in the U.K.??

Rad2016 · 15/05/2020 08:45

I got an invitation for a job at utest. My first testing with them. How is the pay with utest guys?

AStubbornlyPersistentIllusion · 15/05/2020 08:46

Thanks @curdsandwhey.

Love your suggestion and the idea of drawing it out a bit for an increased number of prize draw entries is definitely a bonus, too!

I'm definitely going to do it your way Thanks

toastytea · 15/05/2020 09:27

Hi everyone, one of my projects on appen finished and I took a week off! I'm back on it now tho. Applied for the appen transcription task and done test, not particularly well paid but might be a nice one. Anyone on it?

Made approx £600 last month and will prob be less this month cos I've been taking it easy.

Looks like that neevo customer/agent one is still going. Depending how today goes I might start it. Has everyone been paid ok? I've avoided neevo after they said some of my tasks were invalid.

Not done anything on utest lately cos no time!

Did everyone get that b* email? Was very surprised. I didn't exceed those minutes tho.

curdsandwhey · 15/05/2020 09:34

@AStubbornlyPersistentIllusion Also 20Cogs keep saying their average payout is £200, but most people round here seem to be getting more like £100 so it's clearly hiding a load of variations.

Firstly, I believe there's a significant minority of outliers making hundreds of pounds, mainly through friend referrals, so if £200 is a mean average then those outliers must be skewing the figures (just my opinion).

Secondly, you get paid more if you do the gambling offers, which I absolutely will not do. I don't want to send this thread off-topic as it's a friendly thread, but let's just say it's my personal views, I won't do it, so I'm heading for more like £100 myself.

Thirdly, the average payout figures don't include how much money people spent, it's average payout figures before deductions, rather than profits. There will always be something, for example I paid £1.99 for a Graze box (yum!), but this is a lot more pronounced with the gambling offers.

I'm still going to plod on with it, and will eventually get there, just wanted to let you know of these things.

Keep screenshots and emails as there'll be a few cogs that won't register properly - just contact customer services with it and they'll sort it out for you. Their customer services are very good, great communication and very helpful.

BertieBotts · 15/05/2020 09:44

uTest varies based on project, but overall it's my highest earner! I find it needs a decent chunk of concentrated time, unlike clickworker, prolific and neevo.

Buster27 · 15/05/2020 09:55

@toastytea how did you the transcription test? I got an email saying to log in to proceed with the qualification steps but I only have the view progress button which does nothing. Maybe it's just full already.

Rad2016 · 15/05/2020 10:08

Thank you Bertiebox
