Morning all! Starting a new thread as the last one is full.

OP posts:
Catatemyhomework · 25/04/2020 11:07

I have just done 10 minutes. Timed out on one, but the results are not high quality. Had no time to actually read the websites at all. It does feel a bit pointless if there is no time for quality.

ruralwanderer · 25/04/2020 11:07

@GachaBread, well done you! That took some serious guts but I'm sure it'll make life so much better for you and the kids :)

I'm struggling with B* today! So many time outs, and only 15 completed in time, but half the time I can't load all 10 windows and even look at them before the timer runs out, let alone determine which are best and rank them! 3 minutes is ridiculous. For those getting "Out of work" messages, have you tried closing the window and re-loading from the email link? That's what I'm doing and it takes me back to new work each time.

I've also registered for the Neevo phone job - that sounds like fun :D

Kaylsar · 25/04/2020 11:08

Managed 35 tasks on b*!£ then got the work completed message Confused. Not sure if Appen is really reliable lately as this is the second time this has happened to me and I only got accepted 2 weeks ago!

Catatemyhomework · 25/04/2020 11:57

I've just managed an hour on B*. Can't do any more, it's intense!

Otterses · 25/04/2020 12:12

@PigintheShitty

It's certainly not an unachievable amount! I think as @justtheonethen has said, there's just a considerable number of people logging onto the platform at the moment, be that newer people, people currently furloughed and trying to make up the difference in pay, etc. And that is unfortunately how it will probably be for a while until people return to work and/or decide they'd rather smash the queues at strange times of night.

I would say it is my 'holy grail'. I average £8-£10 an hour on there. It's not huge amounts, but it's completely flexible around the demands of my day job. No way could I commit to anything like Appen the moment if it requires more then five or six hours a week from me.

New or not, I think the only way anyone can really consistently average £10 a day at present is by diversifying their online income streams as much as possible and not be overly reliant on one source.

Congratulations on getting onto Crisp though, and best of luck earning a bit extra from home.

Otterses · 25/04/2020 12:15

I still like to believe this is a lovely thread! I think emotions are running high at the moment for a lot of people and the financial pressure people are experiencing is huge, so I'm attributing any aggression or unpleasantness to that.

Genuinely hope everyone is doing okay in the circumstances.

If I withdraw from Payoneer to my bank account does it appear in USD or GBP?

I thought I would have to convert first but when I select to convert in Payoneer it says 'We don't support transferring to a balance the same as your local currency'

That makes me think it automatically comes as GBP but wanted to check as I've miscalculated my funds and need £100 in my bank for Monday if possible.

AStubbornlyPersistentIllusion · 25/04/2020 12:31

@curdsandwhey

Some of the surveys take about 20 mins - the longer ones that is - but are worth a bit more but you can complete short ones too. You will sometimes get screened out from the odd survey which can be frustrating but to be honest at times when I'm getting nothing from any other site I'm quite happy to plug away for the money.

Occasionally you'll get a really nice one where different companies are looking for your option on potential products so it can be interesting too.

You'll only receive daily emails if you subscribe to them and since some of the emails are not a match anyway, I wouldn't bother.

You can get online gift cards for a lesser amount of SB but I always go a bit more for the cash ones!

curdsandwhey · 25/04/2020 12:39

You'll only receive daily emails if you subscribe to them and since some of the emails are not a match anyway, I wouldn't bother.

Ah okay, so it's best to just log in to the site every day and see if there's something relevant for you? £30 in a month is really good considering the circumstances, and I've made £15 with Prolific so far so it'll all add up.

Kaylsar · 25/04/2020 12:52

If anyone's on 20COGS, they seem to have diversified some of the offers which is good. I had to submit a ticket to them because two cogs are grey for some reason. Anyway, I have 4 more left and it looks like I'll be cashing out £200+ so it's quite good but don't like a lot of the offers they have tbh.
This is my referral link if anyone wants to join 20cogs.co.uk/validate/refer_a_friend/welcome/2436585?keyword=referred

Kaylsar · 25/04/2020 13:02

By the way I've spoken to Freelancer.com and they've set up a referral link for me. If you sign up you, you get £15 to use on the site, so you can use those to do an exam or purchase bids. I will get £15 if you spend a further £40 which I doubt lol as everyone here wants to work rather than employ people but it's a good way for all of you to get £15 and get free bids!

I will PM the referral link (for privacy reasons) so just let me know if you want it!

Redcrayons · 25/04/2020 13:02

@DarkPassenger I did it this week. Withdrew my dollars and it arrived in £. Think it took a couple of days to show.

justtheonethen · 25/04/2020 13:05

@Kaylsar that's fab, shame I'm already signed up!

curdsandwhey · 25/04/2020 13:15

@Kaylsar Wow you're doing so well on 20Cogs! I'm going to try and do some more later today.

DarkPassenger · 25/04/2020 13:18

Thanks @Redcrayons - I was a bit worried about funds not hitting in time so I checked Paypal, they quoted minutes for a transfer and it's now done and in my bank so at least I'm not worried about bank charges for going overdrawn on Monday now.

I had wanted to leave my PP balance to use for odd bits of shopping online but as I'm lucky it was there I can't grumble.

@Kaylsar - I was going to sign up for Freelancer over the weekend and would be very happy to take your referral if it's still available please Flowers

Kaylsar · 25/04/2020 13:26

@justtheonethen I know what a shame, I thought I'd ask for it since I'm supposedly in the top 2% on the platform and deserve a little bit of recognition Grin

@curdsandwhey it's good money but takes ages for the cogs to clear and become green so need a while to cash-out even after I finish all 20 of them :(

@Darkpassenger I just PM'd you Smile

Kaylsar · 25/04/2020 13:48

I've uploaded a screenshot of earnings from a very good month on Freelancer in August 2017 to give you guys some hope!
Atm I'm only earning less than a quarter of that because I have only got back on the site since lockdown.

April £10 a day part 2
DarkPassenger · 25/04/2020 13:50

Thanks to Kaylsar I'm now set up on Freelancer Flowers

They have given me my own referral link so if anyone else wants to get started drop me a PM. Probably best to put a note here too as I'm more likely to see it on a regular basis.

Good luck to everyone for today's earnings. I'm going to do a couple of hours on Neevo as I'm locked out in the B*ne fiasco.

For anyone else affected or wondering about the 'Your work is completed' message it seems we were too quick to mark a query as vague or inappropriate. You still have to be around 2m 30s to submit those, and you still have to open all 10 links, even if it is blindingly obvious that it is vague or inappropriate. According to experienced posters in the chat all affected will be locked out of this batch but invited to the next lot.

Redcrayons · 25/04/2020 13:53

@Kaylsar if you don’t mind me asking what sort of work do you do on there? I’ve had a browse and I’m not sure where I would fit.

Kaylsar · 25/04/2020 13:58

@redcrayons I do writing, proofreading and a little legal work
@DarkPassenger Hope it works out well for you Flowers

Rad2016 · 25/04/2020 14:07

Hi Darkpassenger how do I go about signing up on freelancer. I've been doing the bane project but not sure am doing it right with the amount of time we get given. I seriously doubt I'll get anything for it. So far I've submitted 37 task but tbh I've not really properly checked because of time constraints. I really want to make the most I can. Having a newborn money is very tight.

TomTomRunner · 25/04/2020 14:12

@Fedupandpoor. Thank you - What is the dashboard called? How do I see what I've earned once on it?

Fedupandpoor · 25/04/2020 14:19

It's part of the main site I think. The address is dashboards.potatoideas/dashboards or something. It came in a separate email and went in my spam folder.

Fedupandpoor · 25/04/2020 14:19

As soon as you open it, all the info is there.

AStubbornlyPersistentIllusion · 25/04/2020 15:49

@curdsandwhey - exactly!

That's just it, when there's nothing going anywhere else and you can see the SB mounting up, it's very difficult to stop though! Grin
