Asked to qualify for A*a on Appen and have done so then all trace has disappeared .. Has this happened to anyone else?

yay, they fixed my For* issue, I have work!

My Appen screen is still stuck on "Thank you for completing the required forms. Your documents have been received, and after we review them, we will finalize your registration.

A follow-up email will be sent if we notice any discrepancies in your paperwork." I feel like I'm missing out on loads of work which is so annoying!

I've been invited to take the exam for the Lionbridge mapping job though so fingers crossed. I'm on page 20 of the guidelines - there's a lot to read!! I'm hoping it'll be more intuitive when I get to the example questions.

@ruralwanderer - I think it is pot luck with Appen. Whan I first started reading the February thread I did a little Googling on the recommended companies and Appen acceptance wait times were mentioned several times. I decided to give them a miss to be honest. Then my situation worsened a couple of weeks later and I thought it was worth applying even if it took months for a response. I applied and was accepted on the 1st March and you could have knocked me down with a feather when I was accepted for B* on the 6th.

So less than a week! I really do count my blessings as I was in an awful situation and the B work has meant I have already been able to give notice and now only have a couple of weeks to keep working in the nasty place.

I will send positive thoughts for you to get news very soon but please don't be disheartened as your experience seems to be the norm and I was just incredibly lucky. If you haven't already then get on uTest, Neevo and Clickworker. Those three made a difference to me even before Appen came through and I'm managing 2-3 hours a day when B has not been live. Just be aware that the best earner on ClickW is the UHRS work and it took 4 weeks before that assessment appeared for me and then I qualified. That was a scary night as I was sure I had effed up but the next day I was in and have managed a few hours since inbetween Ut & Ap.

Oh and bear in mind with Ap that acceptance and qualification does not guarantee work will be available immediately. Again I was incredibly lucky to get in just as B* was going live but I'm sure posters here have mentioned waiting weeks if not months for projects to go live.

It really is a case of do the work wherever you can while it is available as none is guaranteed to be there regularly.

@Lougle this thread has been a life line,I had plans for the kids and our future and now that has to be put back, the kids are upset, they love school, they will miss friends, their work etc
Mystery shopping will have to go for a while, I will have to scale back CW a bit but their are other things I can take a look at which I would not have known about if it was not for the thread.
I will be okay just got to stay upbeat and keep plodding on.
Everyone is affected with all of this in some way or another, just hit me hard tonight.

@GachaBread, sending hugs and to you. Life is going to be really difficult for a lot of us. My dc are already bored as we have been self-isolating for a week. I think they thought it was exciting to start with but reality is setting in. Oldest has cancelled GCSEs and wandering around the house aimlessly lamenting friends and the exciting summer that was supposed to be. A good friend rang me tonight to say he's just been made redundant. His situation is already shit. It's a tough time. We can be like a support network for each other.

Can everyone think of me today, I'm being repatriated from Spain but to a far away uk airport so have a massive drive on top of the flight with a toddler . Will be glad to get home though. It's been stressful not knowing if I'll get back from our holiday.

Can not imagine what you are going through @justtheonethen , I hope you make it back home safely. Must be the most stressful situation ever. Will be thinking of you today. The hardest part will be getting back on UK soil. Once you do that your 90 percent their. Thinking of all the many thousands that are stuck out in different countries that are not in the fortunate position to get back.

God only knows what they are going through.

Waking up today has got to be one of the most weirdest feelings ever. The usual hustle and bustle that I hear going past my house on a daily basis is not their. Everything has just stopped. Feels mad!
