There aren't rules, as long as you've made some extra cash. So from eBay to remote jobs to saving money by switching your house insurance provider - it all counts.

Please don't discuss any clients on the thread or ask for extra information that may compromise Non Disclosure Agreements.

I have just been accepted for the Atascadero task on appen. Anyone doing this one? Is it any good?

@seizethecuttlefish Don't give up on Appen. The little tasks like Noyo are pointless if you aren't on another project because of Payoneer fees but if you are doing another project at the same time ot is fine. Payoneer charge you something like $3 transaction fee so if you only have a $5 payout it is naff, but if you are on a better project and earn say $300 they still only take $3. Their exchange rate isn't too bad, in July I invoiced Appen for $425 and the actual payment I got was £345.50 which was spot on with the exchange rate at the time minus their $3 fee. so it really isn't that bad as long as you aren't soley doing the low paid tasks.

@TheLolaMontez I got accepted on in atescadero a few weeks back but it's not showing up on the dashboard. It seems to the a problem for all of us who have been accepted.

@anxiouswaiting I've only been offered noyo and Fletcher on Appen. It's rubbish. I was offered the image one but failed the test 3 times and seriously lost the will to live. It would really help if you got some feedback when you fail. Nothing else seems to be coming up. I have 3 in progress but it's been like that for 2 months.

I might need to buy a new laptop before I can get serious with Appen, matched betting etc. Does anyone know if I can do the work for Appen on a chromebook or does it need something more powerful?

The Appen stuff I am doing just requires an iPhone/Android. Depends on the project.

@Wolfff @SNISR Excellent, thank you! I've just logged into Appen on my husband's laptop and I just have a couple of tasks that I can't do (recording children or elderly people - not quite there yet!). Do other tasks just show up or do I need to do something? I haven't taken any tests on here yet.

Are you in Appen Global?

Appen Connect has more tasks. At the very least there should be a £5 one survey task.

Normally there are a list of tasks with a button on the right to apply for them. However there is no guarantee that an application means you will be offered them.

Anyone get paid yet?

Just had Crisp payment to paypal a couple of minutes ago.

@Wolfff Yes, I was on global! Now registering with Appen Connect. I'm not happy seeing upsetting material etc so I'm going to check the 'no' boxes. Is this likely to affect the amount of tasks I'm offered?

When did everyone who works for crisp apply? I'm sure us newbies have a long time to wait before they open again.

I posted on here last week that I had just signed up to Appen and had 2 projects in progress. Well, I've just checked it again now and there is just 1 in progress now!!
Don't think I've got a cat in hells chance of getting on there.
And what is appen connect. appen global?

I ticked that I didn't mind and have seen nothing that I would class as upsetting. Potentially many things could be upsetting so yes, it might restrict jobs.

@Wolfff did you have any issues with the alternative site isoftone sent you to? It let me record one and then just isn't recording. Tried refreshing and logging in and out.

Appen Global is the remnants of a company taken over by Appen but occasionally has different projects. Probably not worth bothering with.
They seem to be merged now.

It is quite fiddly though. Have you tried logging in and out, looking at past recordings and then going back in?
