ISoftstone have an iPhone recording project over the next few weeks. I don’t have a link as the invite was sent directly. I registered for work with them a couple of weeks ago.

I signed up to Appen last night and this morning I had email saying they were proceeding with the process. I'm hoping I'm successful, aslo hope I signed to the correct one. I also got 19/20 for crisp so fingers crossed I hear back from them soon! Between Appen, Crisp and Cloudworkers I'm hoping to save £250-400pm is this possible?? I have a full time job too, but it's not a regular mon-fri job, I have lots of time off so hopeful I can do it :)

bananamuffin99 · 07/08/2019 09:02

Ok well I guess Appen is a no go then, I only have a chromebook and adobe reader isn't compatible with it grrr! Damn :(

permanentlyshattered1 · 07/08/2019 09:16

I'm really interested in this thread and I want to give some of the things a go. Is it classed as having a second job? Would I need to pay tax? I'm trying to work out if it would be worth it as well as working full time

Wolfff · 07/08/2019 09:50

Yes you need to pay tax under self assessment. There is currently a small allowance of £1000 for misc income that doesn’t need declaring. Check the HMRC website for details. Currently in the 2019/20 tax year so don’t need to file for a while but I intend to register for S/E once my earnings reach £1000. I also work full time but even after putting money aside for tax it is worth it.

m00rfarm · 07/08/2019 11:50

I sent an application to Appen this morning - they only let you know if they want you, so how long do I wait to find out if they want me or not?

Wolfff · 07/08/2019 12:25

@m00rfarm
I heard within a couple of hours. I think it took a couple of days for other people on here.
It took at least a week before I was set up working on a project.

Wolfff · 07/08/2019 12:49

Now my turn for a question. How much do those of you on Cloudworkers honestly make an hour in average? Not sure if it’s worth committing at least 12 hours for little return.

Sinn · 07/08/2019 13:24

Can I just ask if anyone's been waiting longer than April for Crisp? I applied right at the end of March/beginning of April and still waiting.

seizethecuttlefish · 07/08/2019 13:37

@Wolfff I've just started and I'm making about £4 an hour. If there was any other stuff, I'd be doing it instead. As @TheLolaMontez says, it's more money than I would have had. I'm waiting on Crisp and a decent Appen project.

TheLolaMontez · 07/08/2019 13:43

@Wolfff I generally do £10 per hour on cloudworkers providing I have no distractions and I am "in the zone"

Wolfff · 07/08/2019 15:49

Thanks both. Something to think about. I can type quite quickly but I’m not a terribly chatty person by nature so might not be able to think of things to say quickly.

m00rfarm · 07/08/2019 16:07

The problem is thinking of the right things to say - always asking a question, checking info about the person, writing updates - I did the training, passed, and then decided not to do it!

seizethecuttlefish · 07/08/2019 16:20

I'd say give it a go and see how you find it. I'm a quick typist. Reading the notes slows me down but when they reply back, you'll be quicker. I'm still getting to grips with it. I've only done about 4 hrs. I'd love it if it was less commitment. I find it tricky to find 12hours.

TheLolaMontez · 07/08/2019 16:57

I've not done any cloudworkers for two days Confused hopefully going to do some tonight.
I have had two more Etsy orders though! Yippee, so posted two sloths today.

I've also had a painting commission so just started that this afternoon Smile still making money here and there!

Wolfff · 07/08/2019 18:10

@TheLolaMontez

Your items are amazing. I wish I had your talent. They must take ages to do.

TheLolaMontez · 07/08/2019 18:39

Sloths take about an hour, providing I don't have DD hanging off my limbs/head. Everything else is about the same or less. Apart from the paintings, they're usually weeks, I like to make sure they're right before I send them out Smile

You can't go too wrong when you're following a pattern but the painting is 100% freehand so takes a bit more brain power Confused

TheLolaMontez · 07/08/2019 18:39

And thank you @Wolfff Smile it's nice to get positive feedback Grin

pisspants · 08/08/2019 07:46

hi all, I have been following that couple of threads and made the odd comment but want to thank you all so much. I was in real money difficulty a couple of months back and this is gradually easing as I am really taking care of my pennies now and earning small amounts doing some extra bits and bobs.
I had been overspending and have about £4k on credit cards. My aim is to pay them back slowly (it's on a 0% deal) but most of all to have a cushion so I dont need to use them again. I am aiming to have £1500 for this eventually.
Having a monzo account as a secondary account is really helping me. When I filter my money into the different pots it helps me to keep it all locked away as I know what it is for. Before I would just fritter money away and not save for things I knew I had coming up. I would really recommend it as a bank account if you dont have it.I have a referral code where I would get £5 and you would get £5 so do PM me if interested.
I started matched betting about a month back and am up to about £90 profit on that. I've still got a lot of offers to work through so hoping to make the £1000 team profit says you can make from it.
I've been doing a lot of surveys - initially I did swagbucks and although i made a fair amount in Amazon vouchers the sheer number of surveys they have and the number i was screened out of have made me stop as was too much time. i am finding panelbase, prolific and ipsos better in that respect. Fewer surveys but more targeted and better paid.
I had an app on my phone for 6 weeks with panelbase and had to do some questionnairres which I'll get £25 for and I'm currently product testing dishwasher tablets for £5 plus the free tablets so that's pretty decent.
I am also hoping to start teaching English to a couple of German children online shortly too which I found out about through a lovely message from another mumsnetter.
Appen sent me an email today for Saluda. It looks like it's a Facebook ad rating project. Has anyone done this and is it worth it? I abandoned Fletcher and doubt I'll get paid as I only did half and dont want to get stung again! So not sure whether to sign up for it or not!

Otterses · 08/08/2019 08:35

@pisspants

Salauda is an absolute piece of piss Grin ! It is NOTHING like Fletcher. Nothing is as awful as Fletcher 😱

I've won more crisps! I promise I don't just enter competitions for crisps Blush

Otterses · 08/08/2019 08:39

I'm feeling really demotivated, I'm not really sure why. I think I'm not coping with the pressure to earn £400 extra a month minimum, to cover the deficit of me taking a much lower salary than I should have done. I'm feeling really drained at the end of the day too, and not up to much after I've made dinner and got DS to bed.

I need a slap. If I actually logged onto Crisp I'd make money. If I picked an offer rather than faffing on PA, I'd be earning money 😓 I'm just about keeping up with Nile at the moment.

This weekend I'm going to do Friday/Saturday night on crisp to try to make up for my slacking.

@TheLolaMontez you're doing amazingly on Etsy, and with your craft fairs! You're certainly onto something Smile

BlackCatFan · 08/08/2019 09:06

@pisspants Intellizoom is another good survey app. I've earned £25 so far this month already and the studies are very short, and no screen outs as they email the survey directly to you. I haven't been paid yet as it says it takes 21 days.
