@SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock

I've popped it onto my to do list for Saturday Smile

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 21/08/2019 20:49

Anyway, in other news. Back in June i got a job as a lunchtime supervisor at a school near my house which i am really happy about as it fits in perfectly with my kids and Appen et al!

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 21/08/2019 20:49

Meant to say thanks Otterses!

BlackCatFan · 21/08/2019 20:59

Has anyone actually been paid by Intellizoom? I've done a few studies and was supposed to be paid within 21 days but haven't...

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 21/08/2019 21:10

I've been paid by Intellizoom, i think it's 21 working days. It's always turned up eventually!

BlackCatFan · 21/08/2019 22:03

@SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock thanks, I'll give it a bit longer then..

SNISR · 21/08/2019 22:06

@Otterses I'm on Appen connect. How do you get registered with Appen global as it's only showing me sign in page?

Boobahs · 21/08/2019 23:02

Hi, this is my first time posting on this thread, but I've been reading through it and trying to get my head around some of this stuff. I've signed up for Clickworkers and downloaded the app but I keep getting an error message about the browser... I'm on the app and the latest version of Safari so I don't really know why it's not working!

m00rfarm · 21/08/2019 23:30

I am so excited - I am averaging about £8.50 per hour on Crisp now with two windows open. I am still not getting the fastest throughput but definitely better with two windows open. And not seen anything nasty yet :) I really appreciate the help and advice on this thread to get me started. If I work 3 hours a day on average I can earn around £750 a month which will make a massive difference.

FloofenHoofen · 22/08/2019 00:40

Just going to drop by here and say that Appen accidentally overpaid me by double. What happened was I submitted my self timed invoice, they then went and decided WITHOUT NOTICE that they were now changing to autogenerated. They then went and added all the autogenerated hours for that month onto my invoice that I'd already submitted, doubling the hours and pay.

So I left it thinking it's an error and they'll rectify it, because usually it goes into review after being submitted.... well it didn't, it got auto approved! So I got the money and then they emailed me yesterday in a patronising tone saying they'll be in touch with my about Julys overpayment. Talk about pointing the finger.

Their system is absolute shite for autogenerated invoices as well, missing hours and minutes left right and centre.

But on the upside I passed pecwan today so I have an extra project.

Otterses · 22/08/2019 08:04

@Boobahs

I've been having the same issue with the app over the last week - so I'm sure it's nothing you're doing.

@SNISR there should be a minuscule button in the top right that says 'become an agent'

@FloofenHoofen Angry that's crap. Although excellent news about pewcan!

I've been a bit quiet for me the last few days Blush ... I managed to throw myself down the stairs and my bum is so bruised I can't sit down to do much. I'm a bit hopeless lately!

OP posts:
seizethecuttlefish · 22/08/2019 08:06

Go you @FloofenHoofen I had 3 tries and couldn't pass it! It's the only Appen project I've been offered (apart from the dreaded Fletcher, which I still haven't had anything from). Appens been a wash out for me.

People on Cambly, what times are you working? Is it mainly to fit in with China? I'm assuming VipKids, will be the same times, as it's China? I'm going to need to put my son into nursery a couple of days a week to do the online teaching and I'd rather maximise my hours.

pisspants · 22/08/2019 08:21

@seizethecuttlefish I work 9 till 11 at night on cambly. Sometimes this goes over a bit if a longer call comes in towards the end. I initially signed up for hours 9 to 12 but it was too much so I cancelled a lot off. I average about $7 or $8 an hour on cambly so I wouldn't have thought paying for childcare would be worth it. I do find it quite easy money when the kids are in bed though and speak to lots of interesting people. As its international and adults I think its pretty much 24/7 though apparently after the first few weeks it is not so easy to book the priority hours.

I think VIP kids pays quite a bit more and is just China based but the lessons are more guaranteed and are more daytime. I applied for them but have not followed through with doing the interview etc as was not sure I could commit to the specific timings.

MrsWombat · 22/08/2019 08:38

For those just starting Truckee, it's very good. If you can use your microphone to type the words for you it's a bit less tedious. Read the instructions carefully for how they want you to word your comments as you will get audited every week for the first few weeks.

seizethecuttlefish · 22/08/2019 09:37

Thanks @pisspants. I've been accepted for a couple of really good ones and wondered if I can use Cambly to supplement it. It's a nightmare and I have no other support. They want 3 hours during the day. But it's in the middle of the day and nurseries prefer morning or afternoon slots. I'd need to put my son in for a full day at £45 and I'd be earning about £60 before tax.

SNISR · 22/08/2019 09:49

Thank you @pisspants I will sign up to global.

Thank you @Zebrimid and everyone else on recommending palfish. I had my interview yesterday and woke up this morning to the message from them that I've been accepted!!! 🥳

I will apply for cambly tonight and eagerly waiting for crisp, which i know can take months.

pisspants · 22/08/2019 09:59

@seizethecuttlefish that is a tough one. I am on the cambly fb page which is really useful and would definitely recommend you join if you are fully ready to go and have a tutor number etc as you need that to join the group. Some of the long timers on there complain that after a while of being with them there is less availability of priority hours.I think it is down to your rating. When you start you have a very high rating so are very visible in the list of tutors but if even one student gives you a 4 out of 5 it drops your rating so you go lower on the list. This is then more likely the longer you have been going it and the more students you have spoken to/hours you have done. I think the lower your rating the less priority hours are available. I have only been doing it about 2 weeks and have a lot of choice of hours at the moment but cannot speak about how viable it is in the long term especially if you are having to make a commitment to something like childcare.

Wolfff · 22/08/2019 12:06

Anyone on Atascadero on Appen? How long does each task take? I have been accepted but they haven't sent the details or logins through yet.

reddA · 22/08/2019 18:27

Hi all, just checking in quickly, haven't read through properly yet so hope you are all ok x

I'm still struggling a bit, home life has taken a bit of a turn for the worse, so I'm looking to move out, I decided to go back onto AD's after 8 years mostly for anxiety but even though they were the same, they knocked me for six. I feel like I'm slowly getting a bit more energy and the nausea has stopped but it really hasn't helped with earnings.

Crisp is impossible when you can't focus and when I seem to be ok it is deadly quiet or technical problems - typical! I'm not going to stress about this month as I really need to get myself back on track health wise, just a bit of a setback :)

Lionbridge have asked me if I want to take a test, not sure if it's the same one I failed before on part 3 but I said yes, will wait and see what happens. I'll be glad to get back into routine next week with School starting back Wednesday as it means I have to get up early to ensure DS (15) is out of bed!

SpockPaperScissorsLizardRock · 22/08/2019 18:38

Look after yourself ReddA. I take medication for Anxiety and depression so i know the feeling.

whatthewhatthewhat · 22/08/2019 19:52

@reddA 🙁 take care x

FloofenHoofen · 22/08/2019 20:13

seizethecuttlefish it was the pecwan-eq project, it's like the sub of Pecwan. I've never even worked on Pecwan but they've put on me on it Confused the exam wasn't too hard but you get three tries.

FloofenHoofen · 22/08/2019 20:15

Sorry to hear that reddA I have anxiety as well I know how it feels Thanks I hope home life starts picking up for you soon.

anxiouswaiting · 22/08/2019 23:13

@FloofenHoofen Did you apply for the Pecwan eq? I applied for Pecwan and it is in progress. Pecwan eq is in my list to apply to but it says it is for people experienced in Pecwan so I haven't applied

FloofenHoofen · 22/08/2019 23:19

anxiouswaiting I know right? I've never even been on Pecwan but they accepted me anyway! I just apply for everything even if it says I need to be superhuman Grin
