looks like they used our money to keep the company afloat it seems from what ive read although i cant say for certain that they didnt even order the vouchers for customers from the retailers so this could be fraud if this is proved then there may be some comeback from the directors im not expert its makes very intersting reading if you look at the site

agalch · 03/11/2006 08:43

Oh well, the retailers consortium are not putting together a rescue package

Should have known better than to get my hopes up.

maggymay · 07/11/2006 09:53

on gmtv this morning sainsburys are offering to help out with 25% of vouchers ordered from them and park hampers have put in a million to help with vouchers proberbly not a lot in the scheme of things but others may join in so there may be something intime for christmas

Oh i hope so,it would help to even get a wee bit back wouldn't it?

But still not getting my hopes up,will only believe it when i have something in my hand.

How are you coping Maggymay?

maggymay · 07/11/2006 15:31

agalch I feel the same I will believe it when I can hold it.
I have been lucky really although we lost everything we had saved for christmas my older children are giveing me extra money so that I can give the younger ones a good christmas I dont know what we would do if they hadnt helped.

Don't know whether there is another thread telling you this, but I have just had my weekly email from www.moneysavingexpert.com. Apparently this site asked any Farepak customers who had paid by visa debit card or a credit card to try to get their money back from Farepak's BANK via their bank or their credit card company. Two of the Farepak customers who have tried this have been successful, with one told that £1000 will be in her account in December.

soapbox · 15/11/2006 11:57

If you are affected by the farepack situation, please see this thread!

Please email me if we can help

maggymay · 16/11/2006 22:38

So sorry for everyone who has been ripped off by this disgusting firm and its disgusting bosses. Unbelieveable that chairman Sir Clive Thompson (?) has gone on holiday. With his millions, no doubt. Bastard.

Think I've heard on the news some of the companies will redeem vouchers although not for the full amount. I hope it's true.

The business was always dodgy as they didn't pay interest or keep customers' money in separate accounts. And apparently charged more for the vouchers than you would get if you just spent your own money down the High Street.

maggymay · 26/11/2006 09:48

I am sure sir clive is enjoying his holiday on our money the rotten b***d he best pray I never meet him in real life coz I think I would swing for him
the vouchers we bought were paid for at face value ie if the voucher cost £10 then you just paid £10 no intrest was paid on this but you got what you paid in back on the vouchers it was a very easy way to save, sor so I thought, and I had used them for years I was totally unaware that this could happen and my money wasnt safe

Just thought you would like to know the vouchers from the response fund are being sent out as from today and should be with us by 18th of december at the latest we are going to get approx 15p in the pound and its being sent to agents to share out so if you are a customer keep in contact with your agents they should have some vouchers for you real soon
