I keep getting the phone calls from the companies but I have heard that it's really easy to do yourself.

Does anyone know how to go about this please?

I just wrote off letters saying I had account with them at such and such a date. My maiden name then, and where I lived. The credit card company did the rest. Only need a basic letter. They say they've received the letter, and are dealing with it, which gives them time then they should either send an offer which you can agree to, or they reject it.
