And what choice in boiler do you get?

The scheme is very profitable for the heating company. They fit the cheapest boilers and charge for an expensive one. I saved up and paid 2k for a Worcester Bosch cdi40 combi boiler fitted. I could have shopped around but needed one quickly. These companies charge over 2k for cheap import that will not last. Shop around at some plumbers merchant and online for boiler prices and get the bet you can. Yes the scheme was also on watch dog. A wb can be bought for around 800 to 1400 (size dependant combi) plus fitting.

Hi we had a boiler fitted a couple of weeks ago under the scheme, and they took away the old one so we can replace the fireplace in the kitchen (as the new boiler is in the bathroom) It is working fine so far, and has a one year warranty which we plan to extend. It is a condenser boiler made by Valliant- Eco Plus. We had a teething problem after it was installed but the Vallient people came out the next day and checked it all over for us, there was a small fitting mistake with a sensor but they sorted it out. We have a flat so think this size of boiler is suitable.

The process of applying was a nightmare but it is worth persevering- first the assesor lost our info and they had to send someone else out, then after finally arranging it, they sent us a letter saying we didn't qualify! It was finally sorted out though.

We've just had British gas sent to do a survey from the Welsh Government warm homes Nest scheme. We're on low income and over 65,. The guy has informed us that under the government scheme we qualify for a new boiler and suggested a combi solid fuel central heating system. We've been told it won't cost us a penny Is this true.anyone heard of any problems please ?

Hi, I was eligible for the ECO boiler grant scheme.

I used IMPACT Ltd - Free Boiler grant scheme. They were amazing, really friendly. Didn't take long to fill in the form on their site. I live in Cheshire but I'm pretty sure they are national.

Would highly recommend for anyone looking for the boiler scheme, they even do discounted boilers if you don't qualify for the free fit.

Check them out let me know what you think. Best time of the year to get a new boiler with Xmas fast approaching.

Hope this helps.
