A loan isn't the answer, how will you pay it back. What do you have in your cupboards? We can help you meal plan.

Dropdeadfred · 19/04/2012 12:08

What area of birmingham are you?

Codandchops · 19/04/2012 13:51

You really don't need a loan from one of the payday lenders, the interest is extortionate. Contact social services today and tell them your situation. At the very least they will help with a food parcel.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 19/04/2012 13:55

I'm near Brum, whereabouts are you? I have clothes that my DC have grown out of.

You need to go to the CAB, they will be able to help you. Don't turn to doorstep lenders or cash til pay day places, you don't know whether your benefits will be restarted so you'll pay heavily for this. The CAB will give you the help that you need.

IF you have any gold or silver jewellery or small electrical goods like Ipods/cameras/mobile phones that you no longer use then find your nearest Cash Converters, who do both pawnbroking and buying: the useful thing that they offer is a buyback service so you can 'sell' your phone or camera for a few quid and they will store it for a month before selling it on, you can then buy it back. There is an interest charge but it's much, much less than payday loan companies charge you.

Northernlurker · 19/04/2012 14:20

Have you contacted social services and explained you cannot feed your dcs?

HateBeingCantDoUpMyJeans · 19/04/2012 14:22

Yeah sure just give me your account details, how much do you want? Hmm

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 19/04/2012 14:26

Hmm, the use of the word "mom" says it all...

MrsSamSeaborn · 19/04/2012 14:26

I'll give you a million dollars :)

Sadly they're Zimbabwe $ so worth about 34p.

loopylou6 · 19/04/2012 14:26

Agree with everyone else. Tell us when you next get money and what you have in the way of food and we can help verbally. Nobody is just gonna give you money - you should be getting at least 140 a week through CB and CTC. do you rent through council or privately?

Either way benefits will be covering your rent and council tax.

ShatnersBassoon · 19/04/2012 14:26

Mom is commonly used in parts of the Midlands.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 19/04/2012 14:27

What do you mean amothersplace?

tiredemma · 19/04/2012 14:27

we say 'mom' here in birmingham.

Northernlurker · 19/04/2012 14:27

Is it? Not in any part of the Midlands I was raised in. Would it be a West thing then?

I may have alluded to something similar up the thread RedandBlue but you can't read my wonderful post as it has been deleted.

Damn shame.

hathorkicksass · 19/04/2012 14:50

Well, if you have no other help, have you good in the house we can help with meal planning?

I'm sure someone could drop round some pasta, loaf of bread, some of the basics.

hathorkicksass · 19/04/2012 14:53

food.

not good.

BillyBollyBandy · 19/04/2012 15:50

OP my Auntie Betty lives in Brum, if you are near to her I can get her to drop in some eggs, bread & milk etc

She won't be able to give you any cash though - sorry.
