@hitc - love your username. my ds1 used to say his name was firstname headintheclouds lastname as he couldn't say edward mcleod, his real middle names. made us laugh everytime.

swissmiss-I couldnt think of a decent name for myself,but used to go in a shop years ago called headintheclouds-it was a joss-stick hippy kind of shop! the thought of your ds1 trying to pronounce his name is so cute!
Hey the bookswap is taking off quickley-like I said before I always miss these when someone starts one and I know its a bit sad but Im really pleased with myself that Ive finally managed to join!

the more the merrier, welcome! looks like we'll get this one off the ground. 12 seems to be a good group size. from looking about the other groups seem to run jan-dec but trying to sort it out in the run up to christmas will just never happen here so now seemed as good a time as any.

jk, the link in my first message, courtesy of flamesparrow, explains all. seems fairly straightforward hence why i thought i'd bite the bullet, so to speak, and try and get one going. i'll give you my email address and then can sort a group email thingy for the rest.

if we get enough people (or even if we don't) how does 1st July sound for posting date for our first book? any particular genres people want to avoid? chick-lit? non-fiction? sci-fi? pre-20th cent? seem to be some of the vetoed ones in other groups. thoughts please?

swissmiss-1st July sounds great to me for posting date,and I agree with all your suggested vetoes-I just cant do sci-fi or mis-lit.
This might sound like an excuse coming on already, but I'm away on a work conference Wed-Sat and will not have access to Mumsnet!! I definately want to be in the group and will look on the thread as soon as I get back to see what Ive missed! How do we go about emailing addresses etc?
