I am sorry to start a new thread here. There is probably an answer somewhere but I have searched a bit and had little luck.

I had my 12 week scan today and there was only a sac.

They were wonderful at the hospital and I felt they answered all my questions, but I have now come away a little scared and feel I am totally in the dark.

I opted to miscarry naturally, although I know I can change my mind and call if I have any concerns. Now I am wondering when this might happen as the sac only measured 7 weeks. I figured at the time that it ought to happen soon given that its 5 weeks since I miscarried.

I suppose I am fearing the unknown and although I had prepared myself mentally for there not being a bean there (I have had no pregnancy symptoms) I hadn't prepared myself for this bit.

I have 2 children to keep me busy and I am supposed to be going to Spain for work in a week and a half, do you think it will be possible if I go well prepared, or s it too risky?

Teachertalk and Mung- Glad you are both okay after your ERPC,s. Make sure you get well rested and look after yourselves.

Sorry teachertalk-i hope you are ok after your medical management. Take care.

You deserve a good rest Teachertalk. It cannot have been very pleasant for you. I am glad you had a side room and had some peace.
Back to normality for you next week then...do you teach primary or secondary? Have a calm and peaceful weekend before then.

I haven't managed to rest much today as DCs have been very demanding. Not being around yesterday meant that DD was extra clingy today. I'm shattered now.

I am going to Spain on Sunday after all...its my first bit of 'travel' for work. I taught in secondary school, but now teach primary teachers Spanish. I am going to assess 3 of my students, so it will be quite easy. It will make a nice change.

I am going to stay off work next week too. We have an inspection next term and it is mad there so would be a stressful week. There are only 4 days and then an INSET. I went back too soon last time and all the 'running around' in school made me start bleeding and cramps again so not chancing it this time. I usually find I am on a 'high' after the ERPC then hormones drop after a few days so be warned this could happen to you too. I hope it doesn't. You just have to go with it. I am waiting for this to happen to me around the weekend I would say. They re referred me to the consultant who is at recurrent mc clinic but it could take up to 22 weeks to have an app. How rubbish is that?

Mung · 05/02/2009 15:14

That is a long wait Teachertalk...lets hope its sooner than that. Thanks for the warning about the 'high' and the following 'slump'. It sounds like you have had a few mcs, unfortunately. I hope things turn out alright for you and that you have a good rest next week.
