Fitness tracker stats pregnancy

Hello everyone,

Is anyone using a fitness tracker of any kind? If so have you noticed anything different when you were pregnant?

The one I’m using shows for example heart rate variability and heart rate. When I got pregnant the last time I knew it before having a positive test because of my increase in hr and decrease in hrv. Overanalysing and tracking everything is a double edged sword though; I had a suspicion I had lost the pregnancy a week before the bleeding started as well ( my stats went back to normal), it could’ve meant nothing as I’ve seen posts about people’s stats going back to normal around the 6-8 week mark and it was nothing wrong with the pregnancy. I’m in two minds whether I should continue using it, it may just mess with my head and cause unnecessary stress. I’m already interpreting and analysing everything as it is.

If you’ve had a loss before and got an indication from the fitness tracker, would you continue to wear it while ttc again?

@Annapolis35 I am very tempted to take it off but then my curiosity keeps getting the better of me! Has AF arrived for you yet?

Annapolis35 · 08/02/2023 11:19

I suppose either way, if you keep it on or take it off, it won’t change the outcome. I’d find it difficult too.

I am not sure @HoneyPea ive had brown gunk the past few days and it might be starting now but I am unsure. There’s been a lot of brown and a tiny bit of pinky red so I’m just waiting now to see how it develops. Am running to the loo quite often to check!! My temp went up super high too and hasn’t dropped. My rhr is also up. I’m scared of testing and getting a negative. I’m not even certain cd 17 was o date as I didn’t do opks and think could’ve been day 19, I really don’t know

Well I just came on and it’s all red. I think that may have been a chemical preg. I have no idea if that was in my head though

HoneyPea · 08/02/2023 20:00

@Annapolis35 Sorry to hear that I was just about to say that temp and RHR sound promising 😕

Travellingislife · 08/02/2023 20:35

@Annapolis35 😞 sorry to hear this, I thought it sounded promising too. Sending hugs!

Thanks both @Travellingislife @HoneyPea its been a weird one this month! The things our bodies do to mess with our heads. I can’t bring myself to get upset about AF arriving so onto another month and just trying to be really positive about it (is hard though!). Hope you’re both okay.

Hello everyone,
I’m 6dpo and on ovulation day I had a dip in hr and it’s been higher since, my hrv have been lower than normal too but it was even before ovulation for a few days and I’m not sure why.
I hope I fell pregnant this cycle but I don’t have any symptoms, I feel just like I would in my luteal phase if I wasn’t pregnant. One sure tell sign of pregnancy for me is that I can’t sleep well at night, I wake up in the middle of the night and can’t go back to sleep for a few hours, it starts from around ovulation but now I’m sleeping well.
I should get my period this weekend but fingers crossed I won’t..

Morning @Travellingislife its still early days and you may not have implanted yet. I think HRV can also be impacted by other things, so over exercise and stress - could be stress of the miscarriage lowering it. I know what you mean about just knowing, when I’ve been pregnant I’ve had very sticky cm 3-5dpo and I’ve never had that again so I’ve always known I’ve not been pregnant. I’m pre-ov at the mo, going into fertile week but I am out this month as have a cervical procedure for abnormal cells on Wednesday so will be back in next month all being well. We have been dtd but just for fun and probably too far away from ovulation. Let us know how you get on, it’s very hard to not stare at the stats every day. I definitely get obsessed by it. The wrist temp is the first thing I look at every morning.

Travellingislife · 22/02/2023 06:52

Morning,
I’m 8 dpo and I feel like my period is about to arrive; slightly crampy lower belly, temp has dropped, my hrv is higher and hr lower. It feels rubbish but I’m telling myself the ttc journey is a marathon not a sprint.. My cervix is high though which I didn’t expect it to be, apparently it should be lower when your period is due.

@Travellingislife stay strong. It’s early days. The month I got pregnant it felt exactly like my period was coming too so I think it’s impossible to tell as the symptoms are the same. The 2ww is horrible.

I don’t think the cervix method really tells anything, I swear when I tried to check it feels different throughout the day so I gave up (or wasn’t sure what I was looking for).

I think I o yesterday, but we are out this month so just gonna take it easy mentally (which is nice).

Travellingislife · 22/02/2023 14:38

@Annapolis35 I felt the same when I got pregnant the last time too, except my insomnia and lots of cm which I don’t have now.
I saw my reflexologist today and she said it didn’t feel like my period would come on today so fingers crossed, 8 days would be such a short luteal phase and that would worry me.
Yeah trying to interpret ( even find!) what the cervix feels like can be a bit tricky, when I was pregnant it was softer and higher for most days in my luteal phase, I had two days when it was lower and harder though. It’s confusing me but I’m still checking it haha! It’s even more confusing because I’ve read opposite opinions about what it should feel like when you’re pregnant, some say it should be high and soft, some high and hard.

It’ll be nice for you to not stress about ttc this month!

Morning everyone,
I got a BFP! Eeek! I’m cautiously happy but it’s early days so not getting my hopes up too much. My hrv is lower and hr higher as I would expect and my insomnia is back.
I’m not sure if I’ll keep my tracker as it might make me stress unnecessarily if my stats change.. At the same time it won’t change the outcome and I rather know early if something isn’t right..

Annapolis35 · 27/02/2023 08:07

Congratulations @Travellingislife thats excellent news. I don’t know about fitness tracker, have a think about it as it won’t change the outcome as you say.

I feel quite down about how difficult it has been for us to catch again so I’ll be leaving the thread. Had the miscarriage april last year and absolutely nothing since. Good luck with your pregnancies.

Travellingislife · 27/02/2023 08:25

@Annapolis35 I totally understand. You will get your rainbow baby!

@Travellingislife how are you doing today?

Travellingislife · 28/02/2023 12:47

@HoneyPea I don’t feel
pregnant at all but I’m only about 4 weeks. I’m going to take one day at a time and I’m trying to mentally prepare in case I start to bleed.
How are you feeling? How far along are you now?

OP posts:
HoneyPea · 01/03/2023 10:54

@Travellingislife Had my 12wk scan yesterday and everything is looking good. Had a bleed at 11wks but everything seems fine. In terms of having the tracker on, I'm still looking every day and worrying a little if it goes down but I've had 3 good scans now even when RHR has gone down. I had a big dip around 8/9weeks so don't panic if you get one around then.

DappledOliveGroves · 01/03/2023 11:19

Just seen this thread. I had two miscarriages before I conceived DD (who just turned one). My anxiety was already sky high so I took my Garmin off for the duration of the pregnancy and only started wearing it again when she was born. The pregnancy was already anxiety-ridden as it was, so I really don't think that having any more information or data to worry over would have been helpful.

If you can, take off the watch and wishing you best of luck.

Travellingislife · 01/03/2023 14:12

@HoneyPea congratulations! It must be such a great relief.
I’ve read about it dipping around 8/9 weeks because the placenta takes over, it would make me worried though.
@DappledOliveGroves I’m thinking about taking it off but I do love my stats.. If it gets too much I’ll take it off.

HoneyPea · 09/03/2023 09:19

@Travellingislife How are you getting on? Have you kept it on or taken it off?

Travellingislife · 10/03/2023 09:51

Hey,
I’ve kept it on for now, watching it like a hawk 😂 I’m not sure it would make me less worried if I took it off to be honest.
I will have an early scan next week, fingers crossed everything looks good, it might be too early to see a heartbeat so I’m a bit worried about that, but the fertility specialist recommended scans at 6 and 8 weeks so I’ll go with his advice.

OP posts:
Travellingislife · 18/03/2023 06:42

I had a scan on Tuesday ( 6 weeks) which looked good and showed a heartbeat 😊 since then my rhr trend has been going down and my hrv has been trending upwards..Not to pre pregnancy levels but still.. It makes me a bit worried but I still feel pregnant and I didn’t when I lost my pregnancy before, all symptoms disappeared and my rhr dropped back to pre pregnancy levels and my hrv went right up over night.
How are you feeling @HoneyPea ? What are your stats like now?

OP posts:
HoneyPea · 19/03/2023 18:09

@Travellingislife so pleased you saw a heartbeat so exciting ❤️ I'll take a screenshot of the last 3months for you as I had a big dip and now it's gone back up. I'll work out how many weeks it was at!

HoneyPea · 19/03/2023 18:21

@Travellingislife Hopefully you can see. Big dip around 7wks.

Travellingislife · 20/03/2023 06:26

@HoneyPea thank you! That makes me feel a bit more reassured. I’ve seen some
women saying it dips around 6 weeks. I’ve got a scan next week so I will find out then either way. I’m staying positive and I’m pregnant until proven otherwise 😊
